  1. That is true, but I don't think you can get your status % discount for the upgrade onboard.
  2. Thanks for the replies. I just checked my booking, and it has already been applied. 🎉 They are really on top of things it would seem. I won't wait so long to send it in in the future, you never know when things will get slow again.
  3. What is the minimum time before sailing? I hope I haven't waited too long to send it. Time seems to have gotten away from me. I sail in just over two weeks.
  4. I had a huge reply for you, but the site ate it. 😳 😞 I did this cruise last year on Emerald. International Cafe - good for snacks, or even lunch/breakfast Explorers Lounge - nice area for daytime reading, trivia at various times, night time live music, or comedy Good Spirits at Sea - nice area for daytime reading, and fun drink making display, as well as cocktails Skywalkers Lounge - nice area to read during the day Outriggers Bar - good drinks, nice view to sit and watch wake views Wheelhouse Bar - Pub lunch if they offer it The Sanctuary for canal transit day. Extra cost but breakfast lunch and tea are served there. You get a reserved seat for the day. The area offers great forward views of the locks, with some shaded areas for relief from the sun. I enjoy reading your travel reviews of your trips. I look forward to this next adventure
  5. "Based on current Greek requirements for cruising, all guests ages 5 and above will require one of the following medically observed negative viral COVID-19 test taken before boarding: Within 2 days for Antigen OR Within 3 days for PCR Tests must be conducted in-person by medical personnel and guests will need a physical letter with the negative results. Test results proctored by video are not accepted." That bolded part surprises me. When I sailed to Greece last year, that is exactly the test I used to board a different cruise line. Yes, I am aware that cruise companies make their own rules. I'm just curious what changed on Greece's end to disallow proctored/video test results. As for the booster language disappearing, I think that things are still changing as countries assess their risk tolerance, and what they deem necessary to protect their own country. What is policy today could change just as easily tomorrow should there be another upswing in positive cases. It's definitely a check and double check all the things before travel these days.
  6. Most of the domestic airlines do not charge a fee for cancelation unless it is basic economy. Then they give a voucher that can be used up to a year to book any other flight with them. I was quite shocked to discover the first/business class refundable flight I had booked would be assessed that $200 fee when we had to cancel due to covid. I will never use FBC again b/c of the fee they charge even when choosing a refundable fare. The $50-100 fare difference/increase booking directly with the airline is worth not getting stuck with their clunky booking procedures, and their fees. YMMV
  7. Thank you for these suggestions. We arrive late on the first night, then have 2 nights/3 days to explore as much as possible in Singapore. I want to set up a foodie tour, as well as do the things you suggested. I'm off to research just what a night safari entails. 😉
  8. Thanks for that suggestion. I have looked at the offered options, and they are trying to charge me more. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I will wait another few weeks, after the Sept holiday rush, and then try to get this resolved. After reading so much about the summer travel meltdowns, etc, I was hesitant to call any sooner. I may just choose to stay the extra night, as well. If the cost of the hotel is less than the fare change cost, it makes sense. I am stress adverse, too.
  9. I came to this section of the forum to look for this kind of info. I had a flight that was supposed to leave LAX at 1:25 pm, but then AA changed my flight time to 11:30am. I haven't called them yet to get put on a later flight. I am wondering, same as the original poster, about if I could make my current flight time. We disembark on a Wednesday, in November. I know that LA traffic is notorious. You can luck out one day, and be stuck for hours another. Before I spend time trying to change my flight time, and after reading this thread, it looks like it may be possible to still make the current flight. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  10. That's quite awesome and smart. I would have never thought to use that. A small piece of pegboard would be easy to pack, too.
  11. What is that interesting item called? that looks awesome for watching the shadow.
  12. I had purchased a few things, and it took ages to have them delivered. I bought in early January, and didn't receive the art until very late March. I used the contact phone number to get info on my art, and it was handled well. They do take a ridiculous amount of time for shipping, but don't disclose that on the ship at all. You should get an update email once it has been processed (reframed or whatever they do to it), and then another when it ships, along with tracking. They're just really S L O W sending it out.
  13. That's great! There were several people handling the envelope ours came in, so no telling who put it "away" or where. I just figured I should be prepared over a year in advance of the 2023 eclipse, and 19 months before 2024. LOL!
  14. Same. I ordered eye protection for the 2017 eclipse but of course I have no idea where they are now. LOL! I just ordered another set to have on hand, and before pricing/shipping time gets crazy like last time.
  15. My friend and TA grabbed a mini suite for us. I'm very excited about this cruise.
  16. Has anyone read if they have any planned remedy for rest of this year's sailings? I've got a sailing in November, with several ports I'd rather not miss.
  17. Interesting. Is it possible the points came from another source? I did not receive points so far this month.
  18. I'm very intrigued with the Ginger Mojito drink. I will have to try it in August on my next cruise. Is it on the menu? If not, how is it made? TIA
  19. I always enjoy your cruise reviews. I tried the French 77 on my Summit cruise in April, and quite enjoyed it. That drink is one of the things I've learned from your reviews. Hope you have a great cruise!
  20. I am not on the FB group. Wow! That's tough to hear about so many getting ill. Your case doesn't sound fun at all, but glad you're on the mend. Good thing your husband got a milder case, too. I should remember to check the CDC site for such info when next I cruise. I had no idea it had gone orange. Re: the OP of this thread - if you find a good fare, I'd grab it. Alaska can be wonderful. Cruising with reduced capacity is very nice. It is the reason I've been on several cruises since July last year, and have 3 more booked in the next 6 months. YMMV
  21. Interesting info. I was on the May 6th cruise, too. I wasn't aware that there was Covid onboard, or that a few tested positive afterwards. At any rate, I enjoyed the cruise, and it was nice to visit Alaska again. Hope your recovery wasn't too terrible.
