Was on Explorer in August, and half of our group was able to get a specific excursion, the other half was not. It was sold out. I went to the excursion desk on boarding day and they were able to get the rest of our group in. It was the last three tickets, they said. CJ

Do any lines do a round trip from the West Coast? OR do any line go from the West Coast to Hawaii and back other than repositioning cruises? DH and I have started to look into this. TIA!

Did they get the soup with no onions? Asking not because that is very odd, but because I would like to have it without the crouton and was told they cannot do it. -

Talk to me about New Years cruising!
crusnbee replied to MandyMooToo's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Was on Jewel 10 night over last New Years. Even though everyone still had to have masks, etc. There were parties in each venue. They also had special dinners in the specialty restaurants, although they didnt look worth the price. Dont remember many kids at all. Would go again in a heartbeat. CJ -

Is 1100 on radiance class that bad? We have it for next April on Serenade. Thought we might only get noise when we were already up and moving. TIA CJ -
Was on the X Silouhette (I cant spell) in February. Was very disappointed in the food in the MDR. Stopped going there about half way through our 10 day cruise. There were also some lights out in the MDR and it felt like we were eating in the dark! What I really liked about this cruise was the World Class Bar. Unique drinks, but they were all wonderful and the staff there was awesome! You really should give them all a try. You never know what you will find! CJ

Is royal up only determined a few days before sailing?
crusnbee replied to mcatmcat's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Twice I was notified that we were denied after sailing. For our last cruise in August on the Explorer, got an email a day or two before stating that we were not denied yet, but it may be after sailing that we get upgraded. I canceled. I am one of those that only wants to unpack once. -
How was your cruise experience post pandemic?

It was a NYE cruise, so it was the first week of January. -
How was your cruise experience post pandemic?
crusnbee replied to ARI421's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We have been on 2 Royal and 1 Celebrity post pandemic. Everything was pretty awesome on all of them, although we missed Columbia because they said they required all visitors to have a test within two days. One of the sailings was the Jewel right before she was shut down for COVID. Even short staffed, they did a wonderful job. Only issue we really had was food in MDR on Celebrity Silhouette. Just not good. -

Cool Topic... Sailaway drink is always Mudslide Otherwise, Blue Hawaiian frozen, amaretto rocks for dinner. Also found the Coco Loco with a strawberry lava flow on Coco Cay was awesome! -
Chops Grille Appetizers and Sides

Please note that the bacon is not American cured as you may know it. If you go in knowing this, you will not be disappointed. -
We did the Dinner Theater on Serenade pre-Covid. It was a lot of fun. They sat everyone in 4 long tables in Giovanni's. Each table was a team. Our table did not win. I do not drink wine, so they brought me many of my drink of choice. 🙂

Truth. Happened to me twice.

I can tell you from experience that is how it works, you get the rejection email well after you are on board. Salt in the wound kind of thing.

I have 2 22 YOs going with me. This was supposed to be my Daughters 21st birthday cruise, but COVID canceled that last year. She and her college roommate will be celebrating. We are thinking of chaining them together so there is no trouble. LOL

Tell me about your "THE KEY" experience in 2022
crusnbee replied to MCazer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Had the key on Jewel Dec 29. Chops lunch in MDR was OK. Not the full Chops menu. It was nice and peaceful in there though. The wifi was great for us, and we got the key for like $15.99, so it was worth it. No tender ports. The key lets you get off the ship when you want also, but we did self assist, so no benefit for us there. -
I was wondering if it may somehow be connected with your sailing status. I bid on one right after the restart and many people were upgraded while I was not. I was gold status.
