  1. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie for the Hump Day Report. I hope especially our Pennsylvania Dailyites celebrate this day in Pennsylvania history. I used to love beaches but not so much any more. Most of us are painfully aware of grief and many hearts are touched here. Not sure what to make of the Held quote and I'll pass on the fish taco. I have not been to Haifa. Special prayers for those facing problems with Idalia. Roy
  2. Well, making the change with Luggage Forward was more complicated than I expected but it's done. I must get to Amtrak (preferably New York) but will figure that out. And @StLouisCruisers congratulations on 5-star. Roy
  3. Well, it took a little longer than I expected but I have gotten my Luggage Forward pickup changed to Bayonne. I haven't seen reports of anyone embarking October 13 but if there is and there is some extra time before checkin, check out the 9/11 memorial on the water near the bow of the ship called "The Tear" IIRC it is a gift from Russia in friendlier times. I also wonder, if someone is embarking in Bayonne 10/13 and disembarking in Brooklyn (or Manhattan although I think that's unlikely) is that a violation of the PVSA? Roy
  4. I guess that's it. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and fellow addicts. Stay safe Carole and Suzy. Roy
  5. Not really raining but definitely not the best visibility. @LAFFNVEGAS are you in Juneau next Monday or next Tuesday? Roy
  6. Just received my documents and it IS Bayonne, and just got off the phone with Luggage Forward changing my pickup. Roy
  7. I'm thinking if you had not rescheduled Mayo might have closed early and cancelled your appointment anyway. Welcome home. Roy
  8. It appears Ovation of the Seas is overtaking Westerdam. Roy
  9. Ruby is now at the CT Dock, I hope only temporarily. Westie at the Tracy Arm cutoff. Roy
  10. I have a feeling it will be Brooklyn. Oasis OTS is in Bayonne October 29, In addition to whatever Crystal offers, there is a ferry to South Manhattan within a ship length of the terminal, which could be very useful for things like the 9/11 memorial or perhaps Ellis Island, although it would be critical to watch the time for Ellis Island. Rou
  11. This is my final sunrise from my 2018 Grand Alaska/Panama trip. On August 29 Crystal Symphony arrived in New York after a cruise from San Francisco. Roy

  13. I think Brooklyn is likely the first alternative to Manhattan and to me would be far nicer for especially a port call. It was not available October 13 with QM2 there but is not otherwise booked for October 29. Roy
  14. I do have a feeling that most tend to get answered before they are moved. Roy
  15. Most of my visits to San Pedro have been either embarkations or disembarkations but in 2018 it was a turnaround day and port of call. I spent the morning at the USS Iowa: Bridge view: Working my way up in quarters, first enlisted: The Executive Officer: Finally, FDR spent some time on the ship and this is the Presidental suite: Crystal allows passengers to bring guests aboard at most ports and I had a couple of Cruise Critic friends over for lunch at the Trident Grill, Crystal's equivalent of Dive-In: Finally @Copper10-8had alerted me to a fire boat in the San Pedro Harbor and I caught it on the way out to Maui. Roy
  16. Not sure how much yet but I do have to talk to Luggage Forward who are expecting me in Manhattan. Roy
  17. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. Bats are very useful but I prefer them from a distance. We need more motorist consideration but less salt. I've been to San Pedro several times but always on Crystal. Interesting quote by Vaughn, and I expect there will be celebrations today in Brazil. Not sure about the meal. I learned yesterday that my September-October NY-Quebec-NY cruise, up on QM2 and back on Crystal Serenity will not be returning to New York but to Bayonne. Roy
  18. I thought Manhattan could handle 4 ships. I think if it isn't Manhattan October 29 it is more likely to be Brooklyn, Roy
  19. Thanks. I hope among other things this will not be a big problem since Luggage Forward is supposed to be picking up a bag from me. Roy
  20. I think with the camera panning and Solstice getting close that's about it for me today. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
