  1. Almost slept through it. Great toots. Thanks Dave, Leanne, and fellow addicts. Roy
  2. Today's sunrise is from a 2013 Queen Elizabeth transatlantic New York to Southhampton. April 15 was the penultimate sea day before reaching Southampton: Roy

  5. Welcome home @GTVCRUISER Bon Voyage @lobsternight. Happy Birthday @NextOne, Roy
  6. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie. I like all 3 of today’s days, and enjoy Adams’ brand of humor. I visited Bergen just once, Prinsendam in 2011. I love all parks, and Berkenhead sounds like a great part. Kutos to Mr Paxton. I’ll pass on the meal. My alternative is African Spring Bok as served on MS Amsterdam. Sadly it is from before the days when I started taking food photos. Off fairly soon for my walk and echocardiogram. Good to see Oosterdam in Fort Lauderdale. Roy
  7. A semi-related question. As far as I know most if not all container ships have the bridge aft with just a few containers behind. Is there a reason the bride could be forward so a ship could get under certain bridges with a few less containers than normal (I sailed a container ship Montreal to Europe and had a big picture window one deck below the bridge with a panoramic view of two containers). Thanks Roy
  8. Yet another sunrise from my 2018 Crystal World Cruise. On April 5 Crystal Symphony visited Easter Island: Roy

  10. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann for the ALMOST Friday reports. Jeeps have their uses but are not good everyday vehicles. MLK Jr is surely resting peacefully in heaven. Vitamin C is important. I like the quote today but have not been to Galway. A great day in US History. I don't really do leftovers as I plan my meals and make just enough for myself unless pre-dividing frozen goods into manageable portions qualifies as leftovers. My alternative is Chilled Pear, Cucumber, and Melon Gazpacho, Oven Roasted Chicken, and Key Lime Pie A la Mode as served on MS Zaandam April 4, 2017. I I'm not sure how regularly I'll be posting the next few days as I have church AV practice this evening, echocardiogram tomorrow morning, and meet the cardiologist Monday. Roy
  11. Most of the way through the canal: Roy
  12. Yes, both. It will be more of an inconvenience for Royal passengers on a couple of accounts. Carnival had the first Norfolk turnaround Sunday and will continue to to so for the duration of the emergency. Royal arrives in Norflok tomorrow morning. It will be more of a challenge for their passengers because they usually arrive in Baltimore about dawn and leave by 4. Carnival I think arrives about 10 and departs later in the day, leaving more time for people to get to/from the ship. While both provide(d) free transfers back to Baltimore for the initial reroute, it boggles my mind that Royal is not continuing to offer transfer service for subsequent cruises. They are allowing free cancellation and also a $200 travel allowance. It seems to me that even if they don't provide complimentary transfers they could do it for $100 each way and have fewer cancellations. Roy

  15. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie. Bon Voyage @SusieKIslandGirl. I'll pass on the fan dance, would love to see a rainbow but don't think we'll see any trace of the sun today. A cheer for film scores. Our Baltimore Symphony frequently shows movies with the music cut out and replaced by the Orchestra live. While cell phones are essentially I often feel like they are a curse. I have not been to Quepos. The meal actually sounds very nice. My alternative is Tropical Fruit Medley, Broiled New York Striploin, and Baked Alaska as served on MS Amsterdam April 2, 2014. I hope there were green beans on the plate as well. Just got word that I need to substitute on my church AV team Sunday, my echocardiogram Friday permitting. Roy
  16. I just heard Taiwan had a major earthquake. Prayers for @USN59-79 and family. Roy
  17. @aliaschief's post brought back some memories. I think you all (or at least most all) know that I sail several cruise lines and I like to see cross pollination. What does bug me is people that stop on a cruise line and then start continually bashing it on that forum without ever posting on the forum of their new favorite. The memory that brought back was from 2018 when I sailed Crystal's world cruise and started a dedicated thread here: Kind of odd that this is the only thread I have is from that cruise as the majority of Crystal content was deleted from Cruise Critic when the original Crystal went bankrupt and the line was relaunched under new management.
