  1. By the way there is one ship where dogs are welcomed and may bark as much as they choose. It's Queen Mary 2 for transatlantics where dogs have their own quarters at the back of the topmost deck in a kennel with attendants and frequent visits with their 2 legged family members. There is an outdoor area where dogs get to walk and space is at a premium, selling out quickly. Roy
  2. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. Merry Christmas to @erewhon, Happy Birthday Sarah. I'll pass on the eggnog. I wonder how much better Libya is now after independence considering the years under Gaddahi. A great day in bicycle development. I like the quote. The closest I have been to Darwin is Alice Springs. Not convinced about the meal. My alternative is Chilled Strawberry Bisque, Beef Stroganoff and Cherry Crisp which would have been my choices December 6, 2013 if I had dined in the MDR rather than Canaletto, Roy
  3. Serenity looks majestic all lit up at night. I think departure is at 9 and I'll likely doze off before then so it was great getting this view. Roy
  4. Well PTZ was fine but Cruise Critic not so much. Wow! on Nieuw Amsterdam. For all who celebrate have a wonderful Christmas. Thanks Dave, Leanne, and fellow addicts. Roy
  5. Bon Voyage Keith. One suggestion. When you take a picture from the webcam try to include the little "PTZ" copyright piece on the bottom right corner of the view, like so: Not a big deal since you have attributed it to the source but still I like to see that on webcam views. By the way, one of the PTZ founders sadly passed away earlier this month. Rpu
  6. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie. My condolences to @kazu and a Happy Birthday wish to Paul. No idea what National Pfeffernusse Day is; I'm not feeling very festive, and will pass on the movie marathon. I think there's a lot of wisdom in the Walpole quote. A sad day for van Gough but a great one for communications. I've been to Santa Barbara just once, I think 2012 on Crystal Symphony. It was the first time I ever rode a Segway. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Pinnacle Salad and Pinnacle Burger as served on MS Prinsendam December 13, 2013 Roy
  7. Great toots even with the late departure. Thanks Leanne, Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
  8. I wonder too how she fared in the time between flight arrival and boarding. I hope there was at least a place where she could relax. Roy
  9. While I have been to Ketchikan many times, the trip in 2002 stands out. It started with a land tour by a Canadian company that flew to Inuvik, then spent a day at Tuktoyaktuk on Hudson Bay, then drove down the Dempster Highway to Skagway and boarded the Zaandam for a 4-day cruise to Vancouver. I was the only American in a group of about 25 and we celebrated Canada Day in Whitehorse before boarding Zaandam. As the lone American I took on the role of welcoming the group to the USA for our special day, giving each member a memento bookmark from Baltimore, and then later in the day watching Ketchikan's 4th of July paarade: Roy
  10. Today's sunrise is from my 2013 Prinsendam Amazon Cruise. December 22 we returned to Fort Lauderdale. Roy
  11. Today's sunrise is from my 2013 Prinsendam Amazon Cruise. December 22 we returned to Fort Lauderdale. Roy
  12. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann for the TGIF and first full day of winter report. I was a Math major so this seems like my day. Zimbabwe sure has has a checkered history.. I don't expect to exchange cookies today. I expect many of our dailyites will celebrate the formation of USGA. I expect almost anyone who has been to Alaska has been to Ketchikan. I have been there many times both on cruise ships and on the ferry system. I like the Rogan quote. No idea what the meal is. My alternative is freshly made Bacon and Ham Omelet as served in MS Prinsendam's lido December 22, 2013. Lots of shopping errands this morning. Roy
  13. As I said earlier and nearly forgot about it I did visit Viaire in 2018. It is a very small town but is the ferry terminal for connection to Papeete. There are 2 ferry companies and I went over on one and returned on the other: I went over on the Teverau: One of the landmarks of Moorea is Rotui Mountain and we see the back side of it from Viaire: The biggest thing in the town is the ferry terminal which is actually 2 different buildings less than 100 meters apart. In between there's quite a large cannon: I only remember one real business, a general store and grocery about a half kilometer from the terminal: There were also some snack bars at the terminal complex. For access to the ferries you start at a waiting room on the second level of the building and move over to the boat just before departure. I returned with the other company on the Aremiti5: Roy
  14. I'm no expert but don't think there is a way to do that search and I'm not sure HAL offers them but I have done Segway tours at several Caribbean ports. If you are comfortable listing the ship/date and/or the ports visited there may be some I can suggest. I'll also suggest an internet search for "Segway tours from Caribbean Ports" for possible ideas. Roy
  15. @Seasick Sailor something similar happened to me back in 2014 and nothing further happened. Could you have eaten or drunk anything off the ship recently? Hoping your experiences mine. Roy
