Hoka is just a sneaker brand that works well for me. The Bondi is the model, then version 8 I guess. My previous ones were Bondi 5 or 6, I'm not sure exactly.

I just knew I shouldn't have got that pedicure. 🙂

Have no real expertise with this. Just throwing this out to see if it will swim. Would a passport expeditor service be a viable approach?

If I'm doing carry on and aiming at maximizing content, I will roll them. Big checked luggage, I lay them flat because I will run out of weight before I run out of space.

Good stuff. How about a roll of rolaids, small bottles of hand lotion, travel pack of antiseptic wipes, or small bottle of hand sanitizer.. Another thing most probably don't think about are those basic dental first aid kits, though I sincerely hope no one would need one.

Thanks. Sometimes a thing is so simple I want to slap myself in the head for not thinking of it. My new pair of Hoka Bondi 8's have what they call a "gusseted tongue". The older style didn't have that. I thought that feature might make it harder, but upon checking I am able to loosen them up quite a bit. I have a coast-to-coast flight tomorrow. I'll give it a try.

Good point. I started wearing compression socks. I wonder if that will help.

$249 for a 10 day cruise. I will spend more than that if I stay at home!

I did the same last week with disappointing results. Of course that is probably because I wasn't on a cruise and Mrs Ldubs did not see the humor.

This is a very good question if it is about what there is to gain from a cabin steward. I agree with the previous comments that the "normal" room service is already about as good as I could want. In fact, in over 30 cruises I cannot think of a single negative related to a cabin steward. What to gain? Here are my guesses. Maybe a never empty ice bucket, quicker responses to requests, or more towel animals? 🙂 Beyond that, I honestly don't know. If we are talking about a bartender or dining steward, then I suppose there could be a bigger return. Me, I would just lay that extra $ on them at the end as thanks for a great experience.

This is good stuff. Earlier this year we unexpected had to extend a trip by almost a week. Those additional unplanned days were among the most enjoyable. It was a valuable lesson learned.

This is a very good idea, especially for those long flights. My daughter gave me a pair of Ugg slippers a while back. They are coming along on our next long flight.

I think it is cool to have an objective like that when visiting places.

Use of the back button (back arrow) seems to be the kiss of death today. Navigating within the forum works great. Use of the back button results in a forum not working - try later message. Just tossing this out as feedback for admins, though I'm sure they are already aware.

I meant two days until we leave from the airport. Now it is one day to flight. Two days to boarding. And, there will be much happiness!

My Profile Pic used to be "L", which I assume was a default based on the first letter of my screen name. I noticed the "L" was replaced with the first two letters of my last name. In my user section it showed those as an uploaded pic. I did not do the upload. I was able to delete it, so now I'm back to "L".. I just wonder why this was done. Seems an odd thing.

Short connections at JFK involving a terminal change are crazy! If customs/immigration is involved, it goes from crazy to nightmare status! Lol.

I think the best thing you can do is to not try to force things, especially things you know they might not be comfortable doing. Let them enjoy on their own terms.

Well, that explains why I couldn't find the fee.

That is crazy, but I guess it might give the right incentive. I think they are around $10 - $11 here.
