  1. How close to the cruise were you when your itinerary changed? Usually when they change it this far out they will allow passengers to cancel without penalty or will allow them to change cruises without penalty. This far out the only penalty that I'm aware of is the Early Saver one, but other rate codes could also be affected. They don't trumpet this, passengers need to call and request it.
  2. The bears are listed as Camp Ocean so that is likely what that is. Good, timely reminder to check the bill before disembarkation because once you leave it's too late.
  3. Why should someone stay in an entertainment venue if they aren't being entertained? I'm all for going with the flow but if I don't like something I'll not keep subjecting myself to it. I expect the same holds true for others.
  4. How do you feel about someone working on commission? Because tipped employees are commissioned employees with the commission being paid by the customer when all is said and done.
  5. I'm good with paying what Carnival charges and absolutely good with all of the food choices.
  6. I haven't heard of it on Carnival and have only experienced one, on an NCL cruise. It wasn't that funny which may be why there's only been one.
  7. I have noticed a decline in quality among all comedians, even ashore, for decades. Comedians just aren't as funny as they used to be.
  8. If they offer it pre-cruise at a discount (and many do in order to sell more) then I will purchase pre-cruise. Otherwise I will likely wait until I'm onboard to purchase it.
  9. Carnival uses the two terms interchangeably. We don't use room service very often and these changes means not at all since it will easier to go to the lido.
  10. And your source for this information would be? I'm sure that there are some who do hate it, many more that dislike it or tolerate and others who don't mind it at all or even enjoy it.
  11. The items on the menu might have changed (and prices increased), sure, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it affected the issue at hand- an added gratuity. (I do admit that it could have been added to the new menu, but I don't recall hearing about it.) And while the door hangers may be gone as others have said it is still possible to call room service the night before to arrange for morning delivery.
  12. ldubs took the words out of my mouth, but the flu in many different forms is still with us. For many reasons it is not as deadly as it was in 1918, the biggest reason likely being all of the advances in medicine.
  13. We ordered the night before on Legend in February. I ordered a breakfast sandwich for $4. No gratuity or delivery charge was charged. I did add a couple of bucks.
  14. There are some who've decided that and that's cool, but I don't think that the virus will ever go back in the test tube.
  15. I know many people who test frequently even with no symptoms, especially when traveling.
  16. We went out to dinner a few nights ago and the restaurant was fairly busy. We were out in about an hour and twenty minutes or so. Ate in the same restaurant when it wasn't busy and were done in a little under an hour. If things are flowing along an hour and a half wouldn't be that upsetting, although we are usually done before then.
  17. I don't doubt anyone. CC represents such a small percentage of cruisers that anything we do isn't necessarily mirrored by the rest of the cruising public (who may not be aware that they are able to leave additional tips because they've never read a hot debate about it).
  18. Hmmm, I tend not to pay attention to what others think about what I do/prefer/buy/enjoy/etc., so I can't make any judgment on whether or not any of that is popular or not.
  19. When we cruised in November on Legend no menus in sit in the MDR or the bars. In February they were back in the bars and available on request elsewhere.
  20. I am an observer of people and when I'm sitting at the bar I tend to pay attention to what people are doing. I don't have a hard count but it's certainly well under 50% of the patrons leave extra.
  21. All of those items are allowed in ones carryon (which is where we carry all meds, to prevent having them go missing with the luggage). We also purchase travel sizes of many of the meds that we bring and refill them before each trip from our medicine cabinet. It can be more efficient to pick something up as you go, but even in the best of times the ship's store is seriously limited in what they stock (in addition to charging much higher prices). We know what kinds of OTC meds we will use regularly and that is what gets packed, we don't bring the pharmacy.
  22. We can calculate it out that way, but I don't think that's the way it works. It's likely pooled among all eligible employees and paid out on an obscure formula that they may not even understand.
  23. I do recall seeing it around here a few years ago. I think it was the gas stations themselves trying to increase awareness.
  24. Even though I generally leave a bit more with each order I have done it both ways and frankly didn't notice a change in the service, which was always great.
