  1. I have heard this before but it appears to be myth based on my own personal experience, various point sites and on the AMEX sub on reddit where this gets routinely asked. Here's my personal example, as you can see I have 180 added and 35 available (20ish are actual offers while the rest are enrollments; have been adding all offers monthly for seven years. Some on reddit claim they start their day by checking and adding AMEX offers...YOLO...lol
  2. No idea if @newtocruiseinblue 's URL will work but if not, if you didn't already know there can only be a max of available 100 offers. So if you see 100, start adding random ones to your card
  3. It really says something about X when they say "we don't want to be responsible for picking the name so YOU pick"
  4. Thanks for posting; if I could bet in the name, I’d go with Excel is going to win just because it’s a more familiar word
  5. Thanks for the laugh! 😅 Here's what I received yesterday...
  6. Valid with a "minimum wage job", I doubt many who make minimum wage are sailing on X anyways; was pointing out that the $35/night wifi is cheaper than taking a vacation day. For those making more than minimum wage during your work schedule to oversimply it, it's YOUR choice, you're either online working or you're taking vacation time. Most remote workers have the option to work on sea business days and take vacation days on the port days. There's the additional time savings dynamic for some which includes myself; if I took the whole week off, the next day I worked I would have spend at the entire day with getting caught up
  7. For many remote jobs it's either you're online working or you'll need to take vacation days. Even if you make minimum wage, the cost of X's $35/night wifi is "cheaper" than a taking a vacation day
  8. Good point yet I do find it pretty accurate if you're within a couple of months from the sail date. What is the Celebrity UK site?
  9. Was on the Solstice earlier this month, guest services told me as the weather gets warmer the more people book
  10. Go to celebrity, start a booking on your sailing, during room selection and count available rooms
  11. Here's my advice, go into your cruise planner, purchase the wifi and be done with it. Never need to give a second thought. Unfortunately if you need it, there's no secret discount, like airline baggage fees, you just have to buy it
  12. The CEO of Carnival said "we are way too much of a value" but they're generally the cheapest US cruise line, often less than half of X's fare We have to remember once we get a month from the sail date if there's a room type with low occupancy, they lower the fare to "fire sale" pricing. They claim they keep breaking booking records so clearly they have demand, why not test their pricing power and if they don't get the booking they lower the pricing
  13. Specialty = Murano Celebrity's motto is Relaxed Luxury, you often need to make your own entertainment in the day time on a sea day or read a lot or just get drunk by the pool. At best you'll have a 45min lecturer that day.. Every night they'll be a 7pm main show that's repeated at 9pm, one night the main show will be a comedian, one night a magician and the rest are musicals. I have been on X sailings without a comedian or without a magician but that is rare. With X's production shows (musicals), they'll have the exact same shows (Rock City, Broken Strings, etc) fleet wide on each sailing. Also every night at 8pm the Activities Director will do a passenger participation show. This is a bit different than Carnival as they have (and we love) that they offer the multiple comedians and multiple comedy shows per day, the sing along piano bar, karaoke, the house band playing in the atrium and this is all in addition to the main show Overall if you're okay with the relax part (many bring their own board games and cards) you'll have a great time Bonus tip, if you want to eat LUNCH at the buffet around the time it opens, get there 10mins before they open to grab a table. Many buffet stations will just start to open so you may be able to get food before the masses arrive
  14. It's like Vegas, not like Carnival where you need to earn some tier points
  15. Pick out a few sailings, write down the prices and call the BCC phone number in your email and request their quotes on the same sailings Historically, discounted BCC offers have different rates than Celebrity Cruise's website offering and there's no where online to see those rates. Don't be surprised even with the 10% off if going through the BCC costs more
  16. They said something along the lines of they were disappointed by how many didn't not transition from Celebrity to SilverSeas...So I believe RCG is more interested in making SilverSeas more attractive
  17. I could have sworn there wasn’t a limit and not that’s really enforced anyways
  18. Yes to asking for a CAN (lol) of water when ordering an alcoholic drink. The only thing about the 5-7 is that the drink menu is very limited. While playing in the casino you do get choose drinks from the classic package
  19. Yes to returning from a port Celebrity updated their FAQ section which apparently deleted their non-alcohol beverage section. Based on my direct experience, sealed cans are fine both during embarkation and ports of call
  20. I put them in my luggage that I check at the curb and it always makes it on
  21. Many of us would prefer that the "meatloaf night" gets was replaced by "wagyu ribeye night"
