  1. It's been a mixed bag because soon after the restart, you used to be able to gamble very little (I was told $1000 in slot, play it through until you lose it all) and book virtually any sailing you wanted in a balcony (no exp ships which don't have casinos) and could pay $20/night to upgrade to AQ. Now the lowest comped offers are interiors I also want to be clear that only the sail-only base fare is comped, still need to pay the fees and taxes, internet, tipping and drinks although you do get free drinks while playing and can carry on wine You can moveup but after booking you must email the moveup team to request it be made eligible as it doesn't happen automatically yet the minimums could be very high if that room type has high occupancy
  2. Blue Chip Club is the name of the casino's loyalty program, if you play one penny on a slot you're "considered Blue Chip" If you're asking how much you need to gamble for a free room, still many variables such as slots or tables and if tables which game. If tables, generally playing $25 bet for an average of an hour a night should yield a free interior room but note the requirements can and do change all the time
  3. I'd take a "bump out" room if it's an option over a room with a better looking carpet anyday
  4. The trick to opening the cans is to hold the cap steady and twist the larger diameter bottle open
  5. It isn't just X, it's the other cruise lines as well. What the BCC seems to be doing is increasing the theo to accrue tier points as I usually play the same on a nightly basis per sailing
  6. And it seems only the corporation-friendly Royalization of changes are making its way to X. They're not adding more eateries or a dedicated comedy lounge or piano bar
  7. Lol…Absolutely true which was why I haven’t booked with them yet as I wanted to try an oasis class sailing. We don’t book suites (or haven’t yet) Thanks to a MGM free balcony on RCI (or X) offer, I booked our first RCI sailing
  8. To expand, I called the BCC shortly after they opened and was told it would be in excess of 120mins and was offered a call back. I elected to stay on hold and it was on hold for roughly 20mins
  9. I called the BCC this past Tuesday and call was offered yet it isn't always offered and I have no idea why
  10. Just a relatable datapoint, did it on Carnival which used starlink and it worked great
  11. Not high enough to receive the free RCI Caribbean sailing annual benefit which I think is platium. From the start of 2023 until last weekend, I had 0 tier points and was the MGM status of gold thanks to the X CC status match. Yet the MGM doesn't really care about status, they only seem to care about your previous play which for me was in 2022. I've been receiving MGM offers all year but bit on this one
  12. Wow, good to know. I've been dying to try Royal and despite calling them the other day, it doesn't seem to work backwards (X play to RCI). Shortly after my call to Royal I received a free select cruise RCI voucher from the MGM and booked Royal through the voucher
  13. The Beyond was swapped for the Refection so it sounds like the MoveUp team never received the swap memo
  14. There's been an "aluminum shortage" since the pandemic but its still available and cheap (no-name soda case, foil, etc) at Costco or even dollar stores. Also, unlike plastic, aluminum is infinitely recyclable so it's probably more of a pricing dispute vs an actual material shortage
  15. 1) Eden 2) Rooftop Garden Grill, only because you can order as much as you want I compare ship to chain restaurants...So in this case, would I rather pick out my own MAINE lobster from a tank, have it roasted to perfection, served with butter, two sides, stuffing and cheddar bay biscuits for $41.80 ($38 + tax) + $10 dessert or would I rather pay $55 for Murano's SPINY lobster flambe? Red just lobster does it better
  16. Was considering an Alaska, would you mind sharing specifics of "pretty bad"? Also did you have Premium or Basic?
  17. This is accurate; essentially the BCC is your TA. However, on board, you can use the Future Cruise desk to book BCC rooms
  18. .Calling the BCC is ironically a gamble! X only releases a certain number of room types per sailing to the BCC. It does sound like the rep you were dealing with was very new/inexperienced as I'm not sure how they could screw up the room type I will say, it seems some concierge rooms have been re-purposed to Aquaclass but are not given the panel shower or balcony footrests
  19. I used to write to please return the button downs on hangers but after the 6ish time of them not doing it, I gave up
  20. You'd need to go through UComped but they won't status match. You basically get the sail only rate comped and need to pay everything else like fees/taxes, tips, internet and drinks although everyone playing at the casino receives free drinks
  21. As you can imagine, this has been discussed in length ever since the Edge first sailed. We sailed once in an IV, we were lucky and did not experience it
