  1. Unfortunately, many of us knew it was a done deal; almost anything they pilot becomes a reality. This is also why they most likely removed the signs, alleviate guest services and shore side customer service from the complaints
  2. Since SilverSea is under the RCG umbrella, perhaps they'll allow vaping
  3. Thanks for following up. Was just wondering if the trial ended early due to complaints
  4. Reportedly the vaping permitted sign was removed and it was "word of mouth". Also, reportedly was on the non-E-Class "E" ships, Equinox and Eclipse; perhaps I missed its also trialed on the Summit
  5. If you don't mind, ask a casino crew member if its allowed, even the cashier or bartender will probably know
  6. Generally speaking, MSC YC will most likely yield the best value
  7. We learned from another thread it's the same water brand RCI uses so you would have to imagine with how much RCI uses that there's a big volume savings over the rain brand in aluminum canned water
  8. If you don’t mind sharing, what’s your average betting amount?
  9. Many in the travel industry lifetime status if certain requirements are met. I’m trying to get the Hilton so I know theirs which is 1000 nights and ten years of diamond status, extremely difficult to do unless you are staying for business purposes. You can get the Hilton AMEX aspire card and get diamond status for as long as you keep the account open which requires paying a high annual fee. There are exceptions and a huge one was the Sheraton being absorbed by Bonvoy/Marriott where many received lifetime status as a result
  10. Thanks to @fstuff1 for reporting on this. Is this on the summit only or could this be a new fantastic fleet wide addition?
  11. All the baked desserts are just too bland and not worth the calories. Good ice cream and gelato, though; some ships still have peanut M&Ms for the ice cream and gelato which you add as a topping. I've seen some just ask for only the M&Ms in a bowl so that's a dessert option
  12. If this turns out to be true I believe it’s by ship. I’ve been on most of X’s ships since the restart and all can do things a bit differently. I’m happy that the X’s social media team dove into the details. Perhaps if there was a disconnect it’s now fixed and if it isn’t, someone can show the crew the screenshot
  13. RCG used to own them and therefore had reciprocity status; that’s no long the case
  14. From 5-7pm, correct? Because if not, it could just be CC party which may or may not include officers
  15. I understand folks think the exact opposite of me and while I kind of see spending a couple hundred for costume jewelry on a whim, I don't see how one could spend thousands on jewelry on a foreign flagged cruise ship. If something turns out to be fake or not the quality you were told it was, you have very little recourse. Maybe folks think X corporates will stand behind their jewelry purchase? If you're spending at least $5K, book a roundtrip to one of the five states that don't have sales tax which are Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, Oregon and Alaska. Unlike like a vehicle, mined diamonds do appreciate in value but like a vehicle, jewelers will only offer around half that price. If you buy at costco, you can return it for the full purchase price even decades later. Also, many reputable jewelers offer various trade-in options
  16. I don't think this is a bad thing, feels like RCG is leveraging its RCI influence over to X with many recent moves
  17. This is what X's social media is claiming is the reason yet I don't buy this. I believe what others have said which is this is a hold over from when it was held in the sky lounge and now they're just making up excuses to justify not offering them so they don't have to "lose" money. "Smooth check in experience"? Check in is done in the terminal, not the ship so how would free drinks on the ship from 5-7 for Elites and above interfere with check in process? Also, if alcohol is such a concern during check-in, why do they allow people to order drinks with the package or for purchase, shouldn't they NOT sell alcohol to anyone? I had a chat with a gambler who had interesting theory which is X is funneling those on casino deals who rarely have the drink package into the casino on the first night as X gives free drinks to those playing
  18. They've always asked this since I started on X in 2019 although perhaps the options are now different. It also asks how many total cruises you've been on with the highest option being "5+"
  19. Lol! Have always complained since RCI and Carnival changed their lobster. I don't always eat 3 however
