I took the disembarkation post cruise excursion for $179.95. I had wanted the other excursion but it was cancelled. We saw what was posted on the excursion description. It was a great way to see Rome on the way to FCO. The bus let people off at the train station then the rest were dropped off at FCO. We arrived at FCO mid afternoon. I got off at FCO, walked through the airport to Hilton Rome Airport (covered walkway to the hotel). We had a flight the next morning.

I had a Sicily port about 5-6 yrs ago. I can not remember what was in the port area as I was on a Princess excursion. I will be stopping again in Nov. There are no Princess excursions I am interested in doing. Is there anything around the port area to walk and see?

I had purchased OBC and thought I could use them to purchase excursions in advance and learned that, if you purchase OBC under On Board Services, you could only use these OBC while on the ship, can not be used to purchase excursions in advance. There are refundable and will be added to your cabin account and could be used for anything onboard the ship. Any OBC leftover will be refunded. You will receive a card stating that $xx has been added to your account.

Which airport are you talking about Southampton airport or Heathrow - LHR (London)?

What airline were you on? You were lucky with all your delays to make the cruise. Taking a Princess transfer, they would know you were on your way. I will be on the Island Princess in Nov during Mediterranean & Israel. Does the pool area have a retractable roof?

After a long overnight flight, you will be tired/exhausted, do you really want to drag yourself and luggage maybe using stairs/elevators on different trains. Since there are 5 people, use a car service, you will be met after you exit the baggage area and be dropped off at the door of your hotel.

They go on disembarkment days from Southampton dock with a stops at Salisbury, Stonehenge and Windsor then dropped off at the door of certain London hotels, LHR hotels. Buy the Stonehenge and Windsor tickets through them. It is a full day tour. I have taken them from Southampton and Dover. Not going until 2024. I like to book early usually you get the best price. I have been to Premier Inn West Quay many times.

I was there late 1979, my sister in law lived there. I was thinking HOHO if close by. Maybe Princess post cruise excursion as flight home will be very late.

Can you walk to attractions in the area or need a taxi? We have knee problems so slow walking.

Any suggestions for a hotel for one night? What would a taxi cost from airport to port?
