  1. So pleased, awful when IT seems to fight itself… Sincere best wishes for a wonderful cruise!
  2. Looks like it is inhabited by stick insects…no one over 40 years old and no one weighing more than 120lb…
  3. One of the main reasons we haven’t cruised on M class for some years has been the lack of Speciality Restaurants. Like you, we really enjoy them. However, a nostalgic yearning has us back on Infinity next year… We plan on dining in Tuscan, LPC and Sushi. In addition we are definitely going to have at least one night dining in suite. We are also looking at the Chef’s market tour which would add a different type of speciality dining experience…Then there is still the Champagne Dinner we could consider or giving Chef’s Table another try. Finally there is Oceanview…In the evening this can be a really relaxing place to eat, especially after a busy excursion day…If I add all those options up I certainly won’t starve!
  4. Time for a phone call, I think…
  5. Not good! Did you complain? Whilst we have experienced the odd less than perfect tour on Celebrity we have only once had a really bad one, we complained and were refunded. It didn’t give us our day back but soften the blow…
  6. In our experience of the speciality restaurants they will always modify to individual dietary needs. As the purchasing at the market seems limited to none existent it could be that what you are served at the evening meal may not be what was purchased but that could be the case for all…
  7. That sounds like fun. Much as I think it must be nice to eat something you have purchased I could accept the rules and be happy with a nice day out and a themed meal on the ship…
  8. I must confess if I was to do a Chefs Table again I think I would try to do it via a roll call so, hopefully, we could ensure some likeminded company. I must confess in hindsight we have often enjoyed recapping our unpleasant meal. Hearing Mr Talk a Lot’s views on the British economy was an eye opener as was his opinion on how Celebrity should move sales forward. Mrs Drink a Lot added to the cabaret by stirring her wine with a fork and falling off her high heels when she disappeared mid meal for a toilet break via the M’D to request a cocktail to accompany her wine tasting selection…
  9. What a lovely thread idea! Thank you, Georgiaguy! The staff, the staff, the staff! The fellow guests, always friendly but never pushy. Wonderful times talking to fellow cruisers about cruises past and some new ones to come! The ambiance…Not too busy but lots to do if you want to. Not too dressy but not too casual. You always feel welcomed aboard as a long lost friend…
  10. Never known them not take a deposit….Could you have it on 24 hour hold?
  11. Thanks so much for posting your experience. It is only when you read some negatives as well as positives that you can make a reasonable judgement on what an experience will be like. In a similar fashion we did chefs table twice. First experience really nice, second one spoiled by Mr Talk a Lot and his wife Mrs Drink a Lot…
  12. I know the feeling, I came back from our Walmart equivalent ( Asda) in the UK having spent over £140 and I didn’t have anything for dinner…I did have some wine though…it would be rude not to take advantage of an offer…
  13. How lovely to know the upgrade fairy is still on the ship!
  14. Yes, the Chefs Market is an excursion. A small group visit to a local market with chef(s) from the ship. This is followed by a local lunch. Then in the evening there is a special meal back on the ship. Subject to local rules either you have a meal incorporating some of the market produce or a meal inspired by the market visit. It seems to be a quite expensive excursion but you do get a small group excursion with lunch and a special meal in the evening so I wouldn’t expect it to be cheap… Chefs table is a group of 12? guests meeting to share a set menu (with options) and wine pairing. The main reason for my post is Chefs Market doesn’t seem to be universally available every cruise. Also that the experience seems to vary and that it frequently gets cancelled. Some of my friends did this tour and loved it! On my next cruise I fancied trying it…. Have a look on excursions rather than dining options and see if you can find it on your cruise…
  15. Congratulations, enjoy… Not to put a spanner in the works but neither of you have mobility issues do you? The shower over tub is fine for the mobile but is very high and not suitable for anyone of petite size or physically challenged. I honestly think that there should be an * with a note about this… Other than that I totally agree… The living space is great!
  16. Silhouette has been upgraded. She was beautiful when we cruised on her the year before last…Connie’s upgrade was cancelled. Look for recent reviews about her condition. If you are opting for a suite Silhouette has a very nice suite deck, Connie has not. However, it depends on the weather how much you would use this… Silhouette has three additional speciality restaurants to Connie. Murano’s, Lawn Grill and The Porch. Definitely adds variety on a longer cruise. I would think Connie may be cheaper? If so and none of the above are that important to you then that could be a factor. In our experience activities and entertainment are similar on both M and S class.
  17. We also reported to the Hotel Manager when we saw the Retreat/Michael’s concierge getting grief from a guest who wanted to bring his full extended family into the Retreat… In all fairness, we haven’t seen many rude guests on Celebrity. RC was another matter, particularly in the suite and Diamond Lounges. I can clearly remember a dreadful man in the suite lounge clicking his fingers at the wonderful waiter yelling “Boy, Boy, get me a Bourbon!” I can also remember a loud unpleasant woman in my face in the Diamond lounge saying “You shouldn’t be in here, you are from England so you can’t be Diamond”….As the concierge came over to apologise to me (not her fault!) I enjoyed politely telling the lady I was actually Diamond plus…This was our next to last cruise on RC the next one was a bit better but we still found the Suite lounge had a few ‘entitled’ guests in it. We also found on RC that some guests did introduce themselves as “We are x and y from z, we are Diamond and in an owners suite”…Greeting conversations on Celebrity are never like that..
  18. Thanks for your comments. I am hoping that our cruise will offer something similar although in the Med…I want to enjoy the group feel as well as the food experience…We have had mixed experiences with Chefs table, I am hoping this will be something better…
  19. Thanks to all who have taken the time to post and offered both details and pictures. I am definitely sold on doing this tour!
  20. This sounds delicious too. Whilst inspired rather than authentic it looks delicious. We will be travelling on Infinity with a definite lack of speciality restaurants so this ‘Greek style’ would be really nice…
  21. This sounds fantastic. Seeing the meals prepared would be the icing on the cake for me! Oh, I hope this is what Infinity offers in Greece!
  22. Thanks, I think this is similar to what my friends experienced. I guess 4/5 hours with a lunch stop isn’t that much walking…
  23. It does seem expensive but if you get a tour, a lunch on land and another exclusive meal back on the ship it makes it more ‘worth it’…
