  1. Nobody is out of work from my original post. Tha ex presidents will have salaries on $500,000 plus perks as “advisers” starting Jan 1 just read the filed 10K link posted eariier in this thread.
  2. Not necessarily falklands. In normal times fewer than 50% of scheduled stops actually occur. We are 5o% 1 out of 2 stops occurred.
  3. Guess not a big deal when presidents of both Regent as nd Oceania are suddenly removed and suddenly replaced with th previous presidents becoming “advisors” thought Montegue was well liked??
  4. Do you really think the port parking garage is more secure than a public garage?? And the only thing the hotel could tell the OP is whether the garage at the hotel is public or private, likely private. To find out if you could park for multiple days in any garage is first determine if the garage you want to park in was public and then simply google the public authority owning the garage for any parking limitations with a handicapped identification.
  5. Regarding Saturday and Sunday. That is the job the porters signed up for. Most of the cruise traffic in Miami is Sat and Sunday. Many fewer departures/arrivals on weekdays. Likely higher pay on the weekend keeps them working. As to finding your bags that is at the end of your cruise and much more effort by the longshoremen at that point than at the beginning where the luggage is simply added to the available cart and pushed to the ship so not pertinent to this thread..

  7. Good luck on 3 days. Am guessing you are unaware of changes in the air department. No change in the 270 days the difference is that requests go in writing with priority to the closest cruises and reports of weeks to get initial responses to 270 day requests some reports of many weeks to get a response. Not even TAs can phone the air department. Reason was identified as staffing issues. Requests now go to reservations who forward to the air dept. hope you get your offers sooner rather than later.
  8. Don't believe there is any requirement to fly thru a Gateway City. Rather than wanting decent flights at reasonable prices you should be trying for reasonable flights with no upcharge. Suggest you provide Regent you preferred flights including Houston/Dallas and see what the response is from Regent. Remember you can request an unlimited number of flights and only pay the deviation fee once you agree. Good luck
  9. The simple answer is no menus are not available prior to the cruise commencing.
  10. Are you aware that you can get a partial refund for now using the pre cruise hotel since you live in the area and then just dive to the pot with a few extra bucks in your pocket??
  11. Another possibility I have used on numerous ships is to prop the suite door open with a trash can or something similar which gives the signal a route to your computer avoiding the steel walls. YMMV
  12. Regent generally chooses flights where they have contracts with the airlines that have contract availability when the time comes for Regent to book. Beyond flights under contract, like any company will choose the lower cost flights. As far as having an input as was said read the sticky about flights with or without deviation. Quite a bit of great info but, lots of posts to sort thru. The basics are if you don't deviate and pay the $175 pp fee for the deviation you have no input into the fights assigned. That said deviations start 270 days prior to your embarkation and even with the deviation fee, the sooner you request the deviation the better for you to get your chosen itinerary. If you have specific questions after reading the stickled thread many of us will be able to answer your specific questions
  13. The airfare is indeed free (included) while the $498 us a fee that goes to Regent for MKE being a non-gateway city and is not air fare or goes to the airline Nothing to fix, a Non gateway fee is NOT air fare and the website is correct.
  14. I will explain. Regent only guarantees the over water portion of your flights. Connecting domestic flights such as ORD connecting in the US to your overwater to Rome are subject to airline availability snd may or may not be in first your flight from MIA to ORD for sure will be coach as no overwater connecting flight. As far as the flights you will be booked on without deviating they will be flights available at the booking time of approx 75 days out and have lower cost to Regrnt so connections can be in many different cities and airlines. hope this helps. Without deviating at 270 days out you pays your money and take your chances.
  15. Actually since most people are on sustaining mes with 90 day supply there are ways to get enough for a long trip without paying extra is simply tell the pharmacist you are going on a long tand they can then give you a new 90 day supply. Also you don't have to wait for 90 days to refill. Have never had problems with refills ordering the refills after approx. 60 days so starting early you can get quite a supply to complete your trip.
  16. To be clear it is NOT up to Regent to put anyone in Business Class other than Regent booking a Business Class flight overseas. If there are First Class seats available for your itinerary, the airline will issues First Class seats for the domestic flights. It is an airline decision and Regent has no control over the upgrades as the computer iwill say yae or nay when the Regent computer system or the agent begins to book the flights. Other than when on Regent when Flights are included (not free) I always book my flights direct with the airline either online or with an airline agent and when online either First Class comes up or not and I have gotten First Class initially or not. When not getting First Class I have been put on waitlist for first and sometimes the waitlist clears and sometimes it doesn't. Simply trying to let people know that Regent or any other third party has no part of getting domestic First Class or not on an International Business Class Flight with connecting domestic flights.
  17. You have to carefully read the exact words in the restriction to be sure. Several years ago Regent put out a directive in the US seemingly restricting rebates/discounts to 5%. However in reading the restriction word for word the restriction was "advertising" a more than 5% discount/rebate. At the time questioned my TA who was giving approx. 10% who is on the Regent Board of TA's and he explained this wording and continued with the 10% with no problems because the discount/rebate wasn't advertised and this has continued to the current time.. Good luck flossie009
  18. Had a similar issue recently with 2 $400 referrals after being cancelled in 2020. Took awhile but, got 2 $250 referrals for my cruise next year so expect you to see $250. When the referrals changed to $250 the old $400 coupons were honored but, Coved changed all of that.
  19. It is impossible for the customer to pre figure what the 10% or whatever rebate will be. As others have said port fees and taxes do not get commissions. Added to that the cost of the air does not received commissions. Anything going to a third party and not Regent is not commissionable. Only the TA can calculate the rebate after booking and getting the breakdown from Regent. As far as the 16.5%, have heard that the top agencies actually get about 18% If the agency is at 18% and rebates 10% that is 55.55% of the commission. Just remember anything beyond the base fare does not get commission so that would include hotels, pre-cruise packages, etc.
  20. This is true if the airline has availability to do this. Only a limited number of first class domestic seats available and up to the airline not Regent. I personally have had it both ways in the past so you can't count on it until it actually occurs.
  21. In addition, don't forget there is no guarantee you will get the same flight on a different day plus there is the possibility you will be charged an additional fee for your flight. The closer you get to your fight date the more likely your price will increase. Each deviation is a new process to go thru just like the previous one. As was said, make up your mind in the beginning and stick with it. And since the fee includes either one way or both ways, again make the deviation and stick to it as the changes can be extremely expensive in addition to the deviation fee. Plus the deviation fee is per person. And don't believe there is any written policy to be found on the website. Asking the question here is the best way.
  22. based on previous missed port with Seabourn the most you will likely get back are the port charges, if any for the missed ports. This is how it worked on our first Seabourn cruise. What you have here is Force Majure which is loosely translated as act of God or tough luck. Any port charges refunded can be used for on board purchases or refund as it is refundable.
  23. There are no internet packages. Internet is included in your fare.
  24. Regent has contracts with major carriers and generally uses them.. Generally flights are chosen by cost rather than non0stop first priority. Based on reports the flights if you don't deviate can be anything from non stop to multiple stop with sometimes flights not in the shortest distance. If non stop not available the number of stops may vary. These issues are why many people pay the $175 per person deviation fee so that they can choose the best flights for them. Read the thread pinned about flights with and without deviation for more information. Many many possibilities and you can get the fights you choose at no additional cost or possibly with an additional up charge. Not an intuitive or simple process. Lots of info in an extremely long and detailed thread. Your TA should be able to help you with the process.
  25. Since they have to get all of the larger bags off the ship and to shore plus nedw passengers and their bags including carryon's see no problem with getting any suitcase/carryon either onto the luggage zodiac or simply put in the middle of the zodiac as passengers on the zodiacs sit around the perimeter of the zodiac leaving the center of the zodiac completely available. Seabourn has to make available for any combination of what is allowed on the commercial flight over and back especially since they sold me my flights. I'b planning on a small roller bag legal size, a laptop backpack and a medical device all legal for fights anywhere. Sure there will be room for all.
