  1. If you are ahead of FP Date, you can re-book to a new cabin. My understanding is that in the UK such a change can be done for a 100 GBP fee. Check pricing and see if you will save by switching as prices may have increased. If you re-book, it doesn't matter if you go up or down in category. Since this is a cancel/re-book, I am not sure if only costs you 100GBP or if you lose the deposit. No doubt another Brit will reply.
  2. I also learn and absorb from others on here - especially those sailing in 2023 as we are not doing so.
  3. Understood. I don't get near enough drinks to get to know any bar staff. 🤪
  4. Aw, shucks. I could have been nicer to a new member. Sometimes I am a little impatient.
  5. All they were communicating is that PCL could increase the cost of the packages between now and when you sail. Obviously, it would then cost more on board. However, you will know this is coming and could then purchase it sooner if desired.
  6. I am sure a double ordered at the bar gets counted as two - or it should be - or at least most of the time. LOL.
  7. I see now you are pretty new to CC. So, welcome. We do see this question a lot, but you may not be aware. Anyway, you can book anytime and then watch for better deals.
  8. True. She is from Canada. That said, at some point a Brit has to pull the trigger. You can refare once as I recall and then accept a $100 fee for doing so. The savings need to be a fair bit beyond that to be worthwhile. And then you must wonder if locked in at the best price. I suppose not looking would avoid any disappointment. 😉
  9. IDK why people always ask this. Book now when you have a voyage you want. Book with a refundable deposit and you can re-fare anytime you find a better deal for you up until Final Payment Date.
  10. Having caught up on this thread, I am going back a page or two about the back and forth on sharing at Alfredo's - or any other for-fee Casual Dining location. I can see Princess having a policy where a prix fixe meal option is not for sharing. I am not sure how that will be enforced unless waiters are assigned to watch tables like a hawk that order that way. Otherwise, if guest 1 orders a prix fixe option and guest 2 orders a single item like an appetizer, I just don't see them doing any kind of enforcing on food sharing. Couples do this all the time (before). In the end, a couple could order and pay a la carte and share food just like any other previous situation. But I realize this option foregoes using a benefit. Besides serving guests, taking orders, back and forth to the kitchen area, fetching drinks, IDK if waiters would be keeping straight who had a la carte and who had prix fixe. IMO, PCL's only option would be to implement a policy that if one guest at a table orders prix fixe, the rest of the table must do the same. And that doesn't seem practical to me. Sounds autocratic. Not every guest at a table of friends may be on Plus or Premier. And that is another point. There is no reason to stop a Premier guest from sharing since they get unlimited. So, it comes down to the Plus - another thing for waiter to know about as to who can share and who cannot. What if guest one orders prix fixe and the other just a beer? They can sit there. Are they going to stop that guest from snagging a piece of pizza? I am not looking to game a system, but I do think to suggest zero sharing at all doesn't seem logical.
  11. As expected. They are not quite ready to launch.
  12. But the Cove ones are the lowest cost Balcony, so it is not like the OP was trying to score something better. In any case, Princess should be clear in advertising that there is a premium to book on the Sun versus rest of fleet.
  13. That can depend on the ship. If it is the DR open for lunch and also has Reserve/Club class due to that, then there are fewer tables to lock one in for you. Since you need to speak to DR Mgr or Host to get same table, they will advise which DR they can do for you. You can state a preference, but I would take where they can set me up with same waiters.
  14. There have been many posts and discussions this year about this solicitation. Some thought it was a scam. From the posts I saw, most were taking a pass, but one or two went for it. Don't ask me what threads, but a search might help if you are interested. A lot of folks got cold calls on phone earlier this year. Perhaps they are changing approach and figure an email will get more attention. ETA: Guess I ought to have read whole thread first. The thread link is above. I was not aware ONE was now having flyers and advertising on the ships.
  15. My old post is rather dated now. They have obviously opened it up to more than Suite guests. And still a free event.
  16. Supposedly there will be a further announcement about Canada on Thursday afternoon. Hopefully, that means a start date. Stay tuned here on the Princess Forum for any news.
  17. Be ready for a gang of singing waiters if you want that.
  18. Your points are valid. It was an idea, but I do agree problematic when it comes to pricing the order as there is no 2-way communication to have guest verify. There could easily be an issue if guest didn't like the amount charged.
  19. Thanks for correction. Thought maybe you had just mixed it up. This is new for sure.
  20. It is always interesting to know when things change. The daily events paper indicates where to be in any case.
  21. I agree - the last part doesn't make sense. Never heard of any ship having the daily breakfast and sea day lunch service in the aft DR. Always been a mid-ship - and also the one that has Reserve (Club) Class dining section. Only exception I have seen is disembarkation morning breakfast in the aft DR.
  22. Keep scrolling on that deck plan. Deck 6 Aft. Only 1 DR open for breakfast each day and lunch on sea days. Always one of the mid-ship DR's. And exception is disembarkation morning when likely in the aft DR.
  23. I think it was well-posted that these emails keep churning out automatically and have not yet been adjusted.
  24. However it's done, I would expect any pizzas sitting out in the buffet counter to have been cooked quite some time earlier than a pizza at Slices and obviously at Alfredo's.
  25. Which is why I don't understand why they couldn't have an OTHER text box. After all, a guest can order a drink that isn't on that bar's menu, nor any menu for that matter. The bartender figures out a price based on similar drink AFAIK. (Or maybe they have more common drink names in their computers to punch up and charge). I am not enough of a drinker to push this idea, but it would make sense unless Princess wants to stifle the App usage somewhat.
