  1. IIRC, your specific store agency was not participating in the bid upgrade program (have no idea why not). This was from a post I recall back when program was newly launching and someone who knew about it was mentioning it.
  2. The list likely changes as time goes by. You would need to be in touch with someone on the ship now and ask them. Also, from some recent posts, it appears as though it was a mistake by on-board sales to be discounting the Plus and Premier by 50% as well (IMO, PCL loses money for certain at that rate). So, that may have stopped by now.
  3. May I ask where? We don't have convenient electronics recycle here - maybe a special day or two per year. I am assuming it would go into electronic recycle. We can drop electronics off at Staples, but IDK if they would send the Medallions off with wiring, old PC's, monitors, printers, etc. They don't come apart easily, so hard to recycle the battery alone.
  4. Unless the two of you are hoping to book one of those 50% deals only offered on ships that have been going on earlier this year, then there is no point in booking a cruise on the ship. Brother should just buy you all FCD's as noted above and you simply pay him back after his voyage. Book your next voyage from home (hopefully you know a good TA that offers a discount off cruise fare).
  5. The Scottish Open is a different tournament - it is not THE Open.
  6. IMO 30 minutes is unreasonable for someone to show up with a reserved seat and then sit there twiddling thumbs (or surfing or chatting).
  7. The Princess Medallions do have an internal battery, but they don't replace dead ones. Relatively short lifespan and those things are garbage. I have advocated for a recycle bin at the exit gangway for those guests who don't want a souvenir or a fridge magnet (yes, they contain a magnet as well).
  8. Yes, either bypass Reserve mini or book all Reserve because you won't dine together in Reserve section, so why pay for it?
  9. It's not August 1st yet. Need to have a new version of App implemented first.
  10. Good idea for a Sea Day, except I think it would not go well in the Caribbean in Winter season - unless a poor weather day.
  11. PCL IT Team is about the worst I have ever encountered with any vendor - especially a travel sector vendor.
  12. I'd do Plus at $30/day. $23.50 gone for me to CA and Internet, so seems a no-brainer. The Premier at $40 might be worthwhile too even though I never went for Plus when it used to cost $40/day. But Premier has some extra goodies. I don't see how PCL makes money selling these packages at 50% off.
  13. You can review order in the App. At least the App would show this information as of late last year and IDK why it would be removed. I don't have any current bookings to check myself.
  14. @Tedferg, I agree with Post #2051 (wow, that's a lot) and I wouldn't skip DR first night nor wait to inquire as I think more and more guests are getting savvy to making these requests and on some ships at least - staff are offering this to guests. Speak to someone there during embarkation day lunch period or go early night 1. It isn't so bad as you think.
  15. IMO, a third show should be on a different night. If PCL has a new show (always seems to be only on the newest ships), IDK why they cannot schedule in an extra show during the week (expecting the popularity) and forego some other thing that few people go to. Why not have a third show early and then have the late slot go to one of the comedians who are often popular for a second show (presuming they have new material). I don't think 6:30 / 8:30 / 10:30 is a good setup. I also agree with the earlier post that early show should be ~7:30pm and not 8pm and then 9:15 or 9:30pm. IDK why the production show team cannot be ready to go on again within a half-hour or so. We periodically go to live theater in Toronto and when a musical, those shows are running over two hours. But 2hrs apart on the ship like 7:30 and 9:30 should suit the DR times.
  16. I'd only be concerned if Elite and boarding in PE, FL, and want to try and secure Sanctuary. Otherwise, not every second counts.
  17. Seems to me, some guests might want to remind Princess personnel their own rule is 15 minutes. My opinion is that 5 minutes is too close to show time to hold the seats and 15 minutes is a bit too early to release them (at least one member of couple/party ought to be there in decent time). I would pick 10 minutes and hold to it. I think that is reasonable for both groups.
  18. Sounds like DMW system booked too many early diners. Which is odd as my reading indicates DMW is typically offering only two of three DR's for advance booking ahead of voyage. If so, they should have been able to provide tables for reservations. Perhaps they just decided to fill them all with walk-ups and damn the reservations coming along a bit later.
  19. If you booked that in DMW as a Private table, and you want the same table and waiters at 6:00pm, speak to DR Mgmt once you are on the ship and you should be able to be accommodated, even if they put you in a different DR.
  20. I would adjust the response for better clarity. True, there is no TD like before where the entire DR came at pretty much the same times - early or late - and two seatings. However, guests can get with DR Mgmt and generally have success arranging a suitable table that is at the same time with the same waiters and replicate the TD experience. And you do not need to be in a Reserve Mini or Suite in order to do so.
  21. I see. Thanks for the clarification. I wonder too how long they will keep this up. Seems like worthwhile to go on a cruise with a plan for the next one, so you already know what to book and see if can get for half price.
  22. Okay, but I did make reference to discounts for near term cruises. It could have been part of the ONE kick-off. But normally there hasn't been any big deal for future booking. More into the future I mean. So it depends if one is able and ready to travel again fairly soon it seems.
  23. There won't be anything special. What had been happening is there were offers to stay on board for the next cruise if not sold out and also discounts for quite near term voyages (seems like Drop 'N' Go to me and IDK if same pricing or better). Best idea is to purchase enough FCD's each for future bookings. Buy enough to cover whatever bookings you think you will make before being on a ship again and then add one more each to that - just in case. Also, most TA's are busy with a myriad of clients sailing on various lines and doing other types of trips that they aren't online every day on all cruise lines looking for a price drop for client Joe or Mary. You should monitor Princess.com for new deals or price drops and then notify TA if a re-fare is called for. An active TA might let you know about a new promo you may not yet have seen, but they cannot be online checking prices on every cruise they have sold.
  24. GS will break bills for you, but only so much at a time as they only have so many small bills available and want to be fair to guests. I was able to break some Euros and USD periodically last Fall.
  25. This is my two-cents on Quebec City arrival. The ship will have stopped at a Canadian port prior to QC. That is when they would have cleared ship and done any CBSA formalities (I would think). At QC, I am thinking guests just depart the ship for their port stop on Day 1. I am not even sure they would need to do a CBSA process on the following morning since they were all admitted to Canada some days prior. Aa for departing guests boarding in QC, it would not surprise me to learn they are clearing US CBP (like Vancouver) because we have US pre-clearance at all of our major airports in order to streamline the process and not have clearance requirements at many more US airports.
