  1. This is a surprise to me as I would think those passengers would not abandon their luggage and security should be asking questions of any guest disembarking in a mid-cruise port with their bags. Maybe this wasn't PCL and this other line was more lax or the guests had a story fooling security. I know we had pre-arranged with Princess to leave ship early and it was all good, but when we got to the gangway, security was all over us to check who we were and if on the list as cleared by GS. (This was a legal departure with no PVSA concerns as it was in Italy).
  2. You don't want to do that if you can because the exchange rate will be horrendous. I get supplied at home before travel and take some cash with me. Have both EUR and GBP bank accounts as well (no fees). Prefer to use credit card with no foreign surcharges and keep cash requirements to a minimum. Most cash I bring is already pre-planned to pay private tour providers for arranged tours.
  3. Nothing wrong with that email address. I just tested it as well. Check with your email provider for any blocking (unless you are using webmail like Gmail etc and should be okay). PS - Sometimes those email kickback msg's contain some detail info as to the nature of why rejected. Most certainly the above is a valid PCL email address.
  4. PCL made it more complicated for themselves and guests, IMO. They could have said once free SD every 3 days of cruising. You would need 9-night voyage to get 3rd one. Get 4 for 14-nights. Need to be on longer to get >4. 21-nights gets 7 instead of 6, however, but why not? Other option is 2 for every 7-nights. But that doesn't work for the shorter voyages.
  5. No more Yellow Lane. I don't think that one has been around for some time. I didn't even see such a thing last Fall in Europe. The new Lanes are Green, Blue and Gray (the latter for disabled or special needs guests.
  6. The new system and screen design launches Aug 1 and the QR code and BP information should appear around 11 days ahead of departure date.
  7. Forget it. No one cares. Officially, Arrival Groups and Times are going away at the end of the month. Just show up at terminal for check-in when convenient for you as long as arrive by latest time indicated in Travel Summary information. Together with the elimination of Arrival Groups "feature", the final boarding pass screen is completely a new design and besides QR code will have guest full name, ship name, departure date, etc, so much more like an actual BP. They are scheduled to appear about 11 days prior to sail date. Correct. They may already have the new timing in place (not sure), but guests should expect to see the new BP around 11 days prior and this begins Aug 1 launch in the App (probably need to update it as well).
  8. And don't forget to pack this handy item in case the internet goes down and you want to talk to shipmates:
  9. That is stopping by August 1. Watch for App update around that date.
  10. I wouldn't take that source for gospel. It's really just a report of the TA webinar conducted by Carmen Roig last week. I wouldn't say they have any special insight at all. Have you seen the main thread on this topic (reporting on the seminar and changes coming)?
  11. It was some Covid BS that never amounted to anything. They originally intended to try and control the number of guests flowing through the terminal. (Of course all those guests end up on a ship together anyway). Just forget about it since it is all gone bye-bye now. ETA: Just show up for check-in when you planned to already.
  12. I will accept that. I gather PCL must track how the OBC was purchased in the Cruise Personalizer. If they are doing this (so they know if need to put cash back to a GC), then it would be just as easy to refund to a credit card if that was the method of payment. I also wonder if there is a difference when guest purchases OBC ahead of the voyage versus going to GSD and presenting a GC to cash in and add funds to cabin account. Thanks for the correction.
  13. Thanks and seems to be quite fair - a level playing field IOW.
  14. I hear you but what does PCL charge an Australian citizen for Plus when booking a cruise based in Australia?
  15. I know but I wonder what the wording is on the Australian site. PCL has different wording in different parts if world to suit policies.
  16. It might be instructional if we could see the T&C for Oz. (I do not have a VPN at this time).
  17. I understand, but does the price in AUD for Plus/Premier reflect the absence of CA? IDK the AUD pricing.
  18. Supposed to be on all ships. Except will be in AUD from Oz and your OBC gets converted 1:1 (bummer), so might not be the best plan.
  19. Most likely because there is no software smarts to remove it in the situation where not required. Also, this change sounds new to me. Or is PCL thinking/hoping a lot of guests from N.A. won't think about it and are used to paying the CA?
  20. If you book 3 x 7-nighters (B2B2B) you should get the full package benefits for each week. I.E., a total of 6 SD credits. That's what some others have posted. Personally, I don't see the benefit to booking one logical 21-night voyage if you can secure the same cabin on all segments (book early). I don't book the cruise packages, but if I did, I would just do it on the ship on day 1. If you have booked three physical 7-nighters, you could even make decision - potentially - to bypass the package after first week and add it back for the final week.
  21. News to me, but inexcusable as last I heard, X has supposed wine experts on the ships. You would think they would be storing them flat. Sheesh. ETA: Not near as bad as the raw chicken story I just read above.
  22. I thought they just issued a new one as those things do not open easily.
  23. That sounds great to me. One of our friends is also pescatarian and my wife always goes for the tails over the steak that night.
  24. Ahh.. new info. So they have installed some self-serve podiums. Now, you are on west coast, so have you seen these in SEA or LA - or were you in FL?
