  1. Personally, I think it is much hoopla and just part of the push to get guests to buy the AI cruise fare packages. From the way I have seen and read the check-in process working in the past 6+ months, I don't see a need for Green/Blue lanes the way they describe it. Totally agree that Ocean Ready includes ordering Medallion for port pickup and should continue as Green. Makes no sense to send them Blue. Blue is supposed to be about missing information or those not able to complete OR process using PC or App. Later on, they said it doesn't matter where you go to check-in - Green/Blue/Gray - they will take care of the guest. Seems pretty silly then doesn't it? Of course, the Gray is for special needs/assistance, but I imagine if no guest waiting, those agents take next in line anyway. Several folks have reported seeing Blue lines shorter in locations actually having Green & Blue. Perhaps this is going to be another change - or a reversion back to what they had in mind coming out of Covid. At least the annoying and useless Arrival Groups/Times are a thing of the past.
  2. Yes, there is no smoking at any poker table and they are all located in a non-smoking area, but of course the smoke doesn't obey boundaries.
  3. For Amalfi Coast, contact AP Tours and ask for Alberto as driver/guide for Full Amalfi Coast tour.
  4. If this company operates for Rome, I would go with them: BellaItalia - BellaItaliaTour.com Or, AP Tours. APTours.it Not a fan of ItalyTours.eu. PS - You should post this inquiry or review posts on the Rome port page. Also, check out your Roll Call for anyone organizing small group independent tours.
  5. When I was re-booking air last year, I would find on the replacement booking that the seat selection still had us blocked in and I would select other seats because the original res is not dropped until you get to the final EZ-Air confirmation screen. Once that was complete, I could go back in and move seats immediately back to where they were. I do seem to recall with one airline I did a re-book and then immediately a second re-book in order to scoop back the original seats. Not sure why, but I really had no delays and always got the same seats back.
  6. Did you know you could have saved a lot of time and just re-booked the flight(s) yourself? I have also read in this situation that folks eventually got a CC refund.
  7. I second that. You can change EZ-Air bookings... dates, airports, airlines, class of seat... without affecting the cruise booking. The other way around is another question altogether and requires intervention to preserve air if required.
  8. PS .. I am sure a lot of folks will want to know about connecting cabins. Either to avoid them or to use them like you want.
  9. @orlandobull, you could at least call in to Princess and get with a Cruise Vacation Planner (CVP) . They should have expertise when comes to selling desired cabin types. If you don't already have a TA with good Princess expertise, this could be your best choice to get the facts. You can always make a booking with a TA later.
  10. All Princess ships have had electronic poker tables for Texas Hold 'Em for many years and now the machines are second or third gen from the first ones.
  11. Should be $75 or $100 depending on cabin type booked. I don't know if anyone will have an explanation.
  12. I wonder. I should have posted that during the webinar period as they may have noticed it. It does seem they need a wake-up call over there.
  13. I have tagged both our threads and reported to CC Admin to combine them and said I didn't care which title survived but there is no point in having two threads on this new news item.
  14. The question was which future cruise are you supposed to get $60 OBC on.
  15. Here is the slide: BTW, I saw a 13 day note as well. I wouldn't expect an exact number of days for this to show in advance of sail date and just expect it around the number of days indicated.
  16. Princess is finally ready to ship Medallions to Canada. During today's webinar for agents, Carmen Roig and Marsha announced finally going to be able to receive Medallions in Canada. Apparently this begins August 1. Now I can anticipate the questions and there were no particulars. Cannot say if it is any voyage date beginning after August 1 (of course there has to be time to ship), or for new bookings after August 1, etc? Also, they mentioned testing to see how mailing time is to make sure folks can receive them, but she did not say anything about how far ahead must be ordered nor what they expect shipping time to be. I imagine more info will be coming.
  17. At today's seminar for agents, Carmen Roig introduced the new Ocean Ready final screen layout and content coming August 1. It is part of their simplification and improvement for the check-in process. I couldn't get a screen shot, but perhaps later once seminar is over. Instead of just the QR code that shows up when guest is Ocean Ready, the new screen contains: 1. Guest full name. 2. Ship Name 3. Deck and cabin number. 4. Boarding date. 5. A QR code. 6. An indication of Green/Blue Lane (Green simply meaning you have a Medallion ahead of time). This new screen should appear beginning 11 days prior to start of cruise. They showed a slide indicating Green, Blue and Gray processing. The latter was for special needs. You can go into any lane. There was no mention of priority processing at check-in, but we all know it's there. They seemed to imply that we will begin to see actual Green/Blue lanes for approaching check-in counters and with Green a way to quickly bypass. No doubt you still see a check-in agent to scan Medallion and they will verify all is in order. Doesn't sound much different. Blue Lane could be a piece if info missing such as security photo or need to collect Medallion. This wasn't totally clear, so I am not sure if anything is really changing in the port terminals, but I am sure members here will report in August and after about any changes. As we know and are used to, you can be Green as long as have ordered Medallion and default to port pick-up.
  18. On today's webinar for TA's Carmen Roig has officially announced the end of stupid (my word) Arrival Groups/Times. They are officially now saying gone from App now or as of August 1 and just show up anytime that suits within the ship's check-in window. So, things are now going to be the way most everyone on here has been saying about checking in. It is part of their quest to make the whole Ocean Ready and check-in process simpler and easier. (There was no mention of App bugs - LOL).
  19. I think they mean the FCD generates $60 OBC, but that doesn't seem right as none of the OBC rebates is $60.
  20. IMO, the best thing in any case is to not book Plus/Premier until boarding the ship. I'd only consider it risky if booking something like two years ahead and fear of the price going up. If so, there is an announcement and time to add it on before increase date. By delaying, any OBC can be used, saves on pre-cruise trip insurance, solves the mixed cabin issue with kids (say younger ones), and I might think of one or two others if pressed - like hanging onto the funds instead of giving them to PCL early.
  21. Long gone (post #7). Ever since they re-did the coupons, that and other useful ones gone. Just seems like the new batch is just encouragement to spend in the shops.
  22. From recent reports, it seems a minority of guests bother to dress in white/gold combo. You can enjoy events whether dressed or not in white & gold.
  23. I recommend that you write up and account of what you did and include ship voyage, date, etc, and send to Customer Relations at PCL HQ and see if they can do something. When you say "applied", did you use the new function in the Princess App or did you do it the "old" way by filling out the paper form and dropping into Future Cruise mailbox on the ship?
