  1. @lstone19: From signature text: "-- Larry (screen name is "el"-stone19, not "eye"-stone19) ". If you ask CC Admin to alter your handle to "LStone19", it would remove any confusion or need for explanation. Didn't know if you might know that. (At one time my handle had a small "s" and I asked them to fix it).
  2. They might do the same for Noro if there was available cabin?
  3. I guess you missed the news? Purchasing Plus or Premier has been possible on embarkation day for some months now (late Feb I think).
  4. No, but it is normally in your PCL CC member profile.
  5. Sorry to read that. Not sure why your speller (assuming it) is doing "dinning" and not "dining". Hope the second leg goes well.
  6. This has been discussed on another thread and wondering if you can enlighten as about at least the Island situation. Supposedly, a guest can order a surf and turf combo and NP. However, if guest orders lobster only, they get ONE tail and have to pay for the second. Now, it seems to me - and others - that if guest is ordering just lobster, they ought to get TWO tails before the surcharge (since they did not have a steak). IDK about two versus one steak as perhaps the single steak is larger than when having the combo, but the tails are all similar - small - as I understand it. Thanks.
  7. I have no care if the rest of the DR is random res, walk-ups, or other TD-style diners. Makes no difference as long as we are happy with our experience.
  8. I am not sure what I might do in the moment, but it might include making a comment to try and diffuse the fellow. More likely - if we had a favorable impression of the wait(er)(ress), I would speak to either the HW or the DR Mgr and indicate that the passenger is a jerk or a-h and the employee not deserving of the dressing down (s)he received. At least there would be someone else sticking up for them. I hear what you are saying, but I also suspect you would not be one acting like the person described in the earlier post.
  9. Or just go "old school" and arrange the same nightly table with DR Mgmt.
  10. Eventually the App began working pretty well for me. But I do stay at a Holiday Inn Express at least 2-3 times per year.
  11. You can request no singing if you prefer and still want the chocolate cake. I am not sure if there is another choice if not a chocolate fan (I am but have not asked for a cake in very long time). If you want the celebration cake, you can indicate some other celebration if not sailing during your birthday.
  12. While what you say is true, those guests who expect to partake in the full App experience ought to be able to rely on software that was first released over two years ago. I do realize that the on-board functions have generally been more reliable than the pre-cruise functions.
  13. @elliotlake12, I think the problem is apples and oranges. The low fare you are quoting approximates booking the "lead-in" lowest category for Mini-Suites (ME). The price you have mentioned for selecting own cabin is more like MA, one of the top categories. So, you are paying for a better location as well as the selection surcharge (if want to call it that). If you were to book a ME and pick your cabin, the difference is about $225 CAD, which is in line with what I posted earlier. If you select a cabin, you get refundable deposit. You can book GTY at a higher category level as well and also get a refundable deposit. I'd still find a US agency at some point for a better deal.
  14. It doesn't matter between USD and CAD as far as the differential between taking a GTY versus picking. It will be the same applied exchange rate (which is in PCL favor at this time). I am seeing only about $113 CAD extra to pick cabin - less than $85/pp. Something is wrong in what you are being quoted or in what you are looking at IMO.
  15. You indicated now living in FL. Why not book with a US agency that gives a cash discount off the cruise fare. You aren't likely to find that in Ontario or elsewhere.
  16. I do not follow your line of reasoning. Either wrong post reference or you misunderstood something.
  17. You should not be having this issue and I agree with what @skynight posted in #3 above. Why hasn't your new TA asked the former TA what they did to make it happen, or the correct words to give to a PCL agent? If your former TA was promoted, must still be around and your new TA ought to be able to escalate. Or (s)he can escalate with PCL and ask the phone rep to get a supervisor on the phone. Tell them to read their own damn policy.
  18. Agreed. And some pages back there were a number of posts about the fact that the investigation is not about putting a head on a spike (presuming no intoxication), but rather figuring out why it happened and what could be done better to avoid such a thing in future.
  19. @1498sg, you have two votes for scoping out a cheap S10.
  20. That would seem rather premature IMO, unless the Staff Captain observed him impaired on the Bridge - which is HIGHLY unlikely. I think we should all just relax and it is good the ship is back to sea and wait until the investigation is completed.
