  1. I should have clarified as a general comment. But don't the ships go far enough from shore to open casino when they can? I cannot speak to AK specifically.
  2. We have been able to drop bags in cabin when not fully ready in all but one case sometime pre-Covid. Unless there is a big delay, I wouldn't count on having a drop zone. (This is general and no specifics on Grand in Vancouver).
  3. I don't see the above as a "fun" fact. This represents a change from our past experience. On our most recent multiple-cruise voyage (B2B2B) - also in Mediterranean and we were on Regal like you, we had separate bookings (normally I do it this way for various reasons) and our account was not settled until the final leg. Makes me wonder if Diamond is an outlier or if PCL has changed procedure sometime in 2023. I suppose this could be viewed as a PCL "money grab" if they are erasing unused OBC earlier than before. It can be seen as potentially saving them revenue.
  4. If I were in the situation (with the cruise fare package), I wouldn't care what they counted as I would be on the floor if I ever reached double digits, let alone all 15! 🤢
  5. Yes, they have been running those at the electronic table on occasion. Also open $1/$2 NL play.
  6. They are still part of Plus & Premier if a guest booking from N.A. or Europe.
  7. That would be nice to see, but PCL seems to stick to same-old and I also think they want to keep sea days so they can sell more stuff.
  8. I read most of your recent posts. I do think that PCL has let go of their IT managers that knew something at least. I suspect most/all of the on board IT staff are really there to help folks get connected with their smart devices that are not very tech savvy. I am thinking they don't have people on board permanently that have the full smarts on networking, etc.
  9. I was going to ask poster same thing. Can they delete the Plus and "fall back" to Standard without possibly losing their current fare quote if better than today's pricing?
  10. I like having my own bottle and I can pour whatever amounts we each want. 😁
  11. Were you on Plus or ordering the "basic" wines? From my observation, they had a supply of that in the DR and the Assistant Waiter can fetch some fairly easily.
  12. Yes, this is the way it is supposed to work - in theory - but clearly another App bug, or PCL just decided to open it up and not bother informing Platinum and Elite members of yet another lost benefit. You are one of many reports I have read where a guest in your situation was able to make DR reservations. What I do not know is whether this is systemic or random or even if it is still happening today.
  13. Oh yes, this is a regular reported occurrence on here. Some folks are charged and others not. Just bring info details to Guest Services and they will credit you. BTW, don't let them tell you it's a "glitch". It is a "bug" and PCL IT is always having bugs in the App and take forever to fix often.
  14. Feels like the former pre-Covid runs. I wonder if there will only be one long one. PS - I agree that Majestic is a poor choice for Caribbean sector.
  15. That used to be the case. I am not sure when the change was made whether the pricing averaged out between the former DW and DW or whether it remained as DW or changed in some other way. I would certainly consider the partial obstructed to be worth more money than the fully obstructed.
  16. I would suggest taking screenshot or saving off the payment info to a PDF each time and then you have history. You could also create a simple Excel worksheet to track balance and payments and email copy to friend each time it changes.
  17. It's high time they started up again, but we had none on two ships last Fall.
  18. Keep your eyes peeled here because at least one member posts the new itinerary schedules in advance of release. Normally you get both PDF and Excel formats.
  19. Call me nuts, but I often do check any alternative flights on the day to see what would have happened. Anyway, I figure if I tried to fly "day of", something would happen, but when I fly day before, it would have been okay to wait. Only once did we not get to port when expected, but arrived next morning after having to stay overnight in CLT. That was in Jan 2000 and we had kids in tow as well. We made it from CLT to FLL no problem the next day and bags were all good, so it worked out, but is certainly stressful. I don't recall what would have happened had we flown "day of", but we might have made it not much later in the day. Still, I wouldn't think of attempting it in winter nor overseas, especially with airport snafus in recent times. GL to OP.
  20. No footstools on Royal Class standard balconies. There's no room!! Have to sit at an angle just to fit on the darn thing.
  21. It is too bad that PCL doesn't designate the better Obstructed ones as DV, to distinguish from DW (they used to have DV's). In that way, your strategy could work. I am thinking once a bid is won, those DW's that aren't really obstructed will all be gone since they are in same Category as the rest of them and folks will have nabbed them first in booking.
  22. You could try that and explain why. They should be able to simply bump your counter by two - assuming they contain alcohol. Otherwise, it shouldn't matter. Waiters and mgmt should appreciate your efficiency.
  23. No, it does not still exist. There is a Zero Alcohol beverage package which includes the coffee items. However, many folks will find that it is poor economics compared to purchasing the Plus Cruise Fare option.
