  1. We don't trust much clothing to the ship laundry, so mostly use the self-service (but I have read you can get some free tokens for the ask). I would say our best Elite benefit now is the mini-bar and flexibility to swap and choose alternate items (we generally get all beer for alcohol and Perrier for the non half. Helps out as we always book Standard and BYOW. The other primary benefit for us is the priority boarding. And then the water shuttle for tender ports. The 1-day jump on bookings is a NTH, but not critical to me. We don't book the fancy cabins and PCL often throttles the inventory anyway. I guess I'd use it if we were after a special voyage, but not really important when there are multiple date choices for the same trip.
  2. That will get you 3 cruise credits for the most part - unless stacking a true 14 with a 7-nighter for 2 credits. A 21-nighter means two of the three weeks on the same tour - generally (maybe a one stop change).
  3. Don't think we have had him yet - at least in his current role - and I often hear the CD tell a joke when they first appear to introduce the act of the night. Sometimes, we have to hustle to Explorers for the next event!
  4. I would say the priority boarding benefit is the same as it was for those who arrive prior to general boarding. If it is important to the guest to be among the very first onto the ship, arriving for check-in early does confer the same benefit as always. This benefit reduces it's value as the hours pass on embarkation day and would normally mean nothing all afternoon prior to sialing.
  5. IDK about that. The Behemoth's of the Seas don't include the cruise line name. Oops - I saw later that someone else caught this one.
  6. Gee, why didn't they have that when I was a kid? Oh, right. WDW wasn't built yet. And neither was the internet and WWW. My Dad's car did have automatic transmission, however.
  7. You might need a selection of these:
  8. Elites receive (at the beginning of a cruise voyage) a mini-bar consisting of 10 beverages with alcohol content and 10 without. Normally a couple of plain water in the mix and Perrier or Pellegrino. Guests can elect to swap out items. Alcohol items can be swapped for other alcohol or non-alcohol and the non-alcohol for non-alcohol. A guest could, for example, swap the entire mini-bar for 20 bottles of water (500ml size).
  9. It's a shame on whoever on the ship was charging them, but shame on the guests for not speaking up for themselves and for what they were entitled to.
  10. Why not book with your TA now and see if a better price comes along later? Price may go up between now and October or the cabin you want is gone. May not be worth it to wait for that FCD OBC. I am sure you will remember to buy extra FCD's in October, right?
  11. And it can be a pain if you are browsing ships on certain websites and the list is alphabetical and not by cruise line name first. OTOH, Princess X reads like a name or title and X Princess reads like a description of the ship or an image of an experience.
  12. Agree.. I was not going to wax on about Europe, but we do a lot of our own land touring there as there is much more to see and explore than the coasts.
  13. I recall at Mickey D's years ago (have not stepped across their threshold in eons), they would refuse any sort of tip.
  14. I know we don't name TA's here, but how expert are they with Princess. You have a community of experts here who will get you the correct info. Sure, the odd post may be outdated or whatever, but once you see a few of us chime in, you can take it as gospel pretty much.
  15. Maybe they think a worthwhile joke is coming?
  16. I still have ND, SD, NM, OK, AR, MN, WI, MS, and AL to get to, not to mention more of AK, IN and TX. And some other random places not got to as yet. 😉 Wife beat me to NS & SD when she was just a kid, LOL. Of course, none of these have anything to do with a ship. LOL.
  17. See my Post #11. And Post #5.
  18. See my post #11. And Post #5.
  19. The IF cabin category is a lead-in for Insides and the OF is lead-in for Ocean view and all lead-in categories for Inside thru Mini's are now sold as GTY only and with Non-Refundable deposits. Go up one category and you can select a cabin from available inventory and have a Refundable deposit.
  20. Some (many?) of the ED's like to pretend that venue doesn't exist and instead choose to blast everyone in the Piazza.
