you are thinking about Bar Harbor that is limiting cruise ships. i can not find anything about Newport doing the same thing
Newport is a tender port, if the weather is not right for tendering the port will be skipped
on my cruises, it is somewhat not organized at all. When you get there, they tell you where to sit. Then they call out the tours where you leave the theater. once you leave theater, you need to navigate the crowds (both the theater crowd and regular ship crowd) of getting off the ship. trying to get an elevator can be impossible. When you get off the ship, you still need to find the shore excursion people holding the sign for the excursions .
it is soooo much easier and better if the tour tickets say meet on the pier like what some tours and other cruise lines do. And thats what you eventfully do once you leave the theater. there is no reason to go the theater first from what i noticed over the years
my experience is just like what 9tee2Sea posted above
I am on sailing on the breakaway in the middle of October, on my cruise when I look at the various official port schedules there is a good chance that both Portland and Bar Harbor will be canceled. Norwegian has not sent out any itinerary changes emails yet.
Bermuda cruise ship schedule: http://www.rccbermuda.bm/Documents/Shipping_schedules/2024 Cruise Ship Schedule.pdf shows the ship in port 8am on Wednesday September 4 and leaving on 12pm on Friday
the cruise manager may not be used to overnights so it could be glitch on the website. i seen overnights listed like Bermuda day 1 8am to 11:59pm, Bermuda day 2 12:00am to 11:59pm and so on
carnival stock no longer pays dividend like what it did back in the day. i bought my stock back in the day when it was in the highs 50's. it will take like 10+ years or longer to see those prices again
i always call for price drops because you never know if you need to make an additional payment. if you book when they was a reduce deposit and the reprice does not have that then you need to submit a payment so your booking has the correct full deposit
the last time i received tags in the mail for a regular cabin (both studio and inside) was back around 2021/2022 when cruises were slowly going to back normal. since then i no longer get any tags in the mail
wifi calling never works onboard the ship, the ship blocks it. you dont need to turn off wifi calling, it can remain on
wifi calling does not use any cellular service, it uses whatever wifi it is connected to do the calling and texting. if you are in the port with decent wifi, you can use wifi calling for text and calling. make sure the phone is still in airplane mode when making calls
every city/state and sometimes county does spring break on different dates . here in NYC, president day week is called mid winter break and spring break is in middle of April
it is also why cruise lines is investing a ton of money in their private islands or private port areas. carnival is building up a new area near freeport for their behemoths ships
that's because it is too early your sailing. you will need to wait until the first week of may for their system to populate. they only have sailings from now till the end of April
port of Miami has a calendar: https://wwwx.miamidade.gov/Apps/Seaport/dailydock/Default.aspx put in your sail date and select cruise
the location column is the terminal. terminals are A, B, C, D,E,F,G and V
for a may sailing, the website should have it a week or two prior to sail date
the last time i went on a cruise that tender ports, your tender ticket is coded to your room key. on the breakaway class ships you use the kiosk or your room tv to book a tender time slot
other cruise lines have no issue going full speed between NYC and Puerto Plata. It seems like Norwegian is trying to spin this into a fuel saving thing by not running the ship at 22-24 knots. a lot of fuel can be saved by going around 16-18 knots
i wonder where these mega monsters ships can go. They will be too big for ports that need to under a bridge like NYC and some ports is starting to come out with passenger caps like Bar Harbor, Juneau and other European ports
Unfortunately it seems like Norwegian wants to complete with Royal Icon class ships
us department of state website, the same agency that issues passports says your passport must be valid at the time of entry of going to bermuda: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/Bermuda.html
