  1. From purely an octane level - you'll always get more bang for your buck going the distilled spirits route! Tom
  2. I'm not much of a beach person but I'd probably vote for Grand Turk over HMC --- but only because you don't have to tender at GT. Have a GREAT time ! Tom
  3. I'd vote for the route with more SEA DAYS 🙂 Tom
  4. Carnival uses a Magic 8-ball, as far as I can tell. There's no telling who/when/how people get some of the offers they do. If I had to guess, that amount of play does not seem to be "Elite" level, but I have no idea ! Tom
  5. I wonder if, for an Alaskan sailing out of Seattle, they'd be able to pick us up here in Florida - lol 😉 Tom
  6. Speaking of satellite dishes --- that takes me back to the "C-band" days of 10+ foot dishes w/actuators. Oh what a wonderful arc it was, especially when you went to the dark side and installed modded chips. 🙂 Tom
  7. I just had new Elite offers hit my account this morning. I went in and took a look and, in virtually every case, I had other remaining offers which were way better than the Elite offers. No thanks - I'll just continue to pick and choose. If I never have an Elite door magnet to go with my Ultra one, somehow I'll manage ! 😄 Having said that - at some future point if/when my other offers (all w/drink everywhere and OBC/Freeplay) dry up, I'll reconsider. Tom
  8. From just a couple of articles I've read (last year), it would seem that Starlink may have issues delivering on what was promised/touted. As demand increases, service will suffer (as one might imagine). Tom
  9. Increasing access to the cyber world - but still providing pathetic TV channels. Heck Carnival, why not start providing "premium" TV options, for a fee ! 😉 Tom
  10. OK.. never heard of that song, nor artist. Though, I have not been in a piano bar in a few years, nor have a huge history in there either. Then again, more and more often I have no clue who the guest hosts are on SNL... lol Tom
  11. I've no idea either... could be Elton John (All the Young Girls Love Alice), Alice in Wonderland, dunno ! Tom
  12. Just so long as that doesn't result in you being "downgraded" to Silver! Tom
  13. *yikes* Given what I've learned thus far, that sounds plausible ! Tom
  14. That's unfortunate - and I'd be willing to bet that the way they make these has changed (not for the better). I'll definitely order one again... fingers crossed that it somewhat resembles what "sold me" on that sandwich to begin with ! Tom
  15. Good info - thanks! Yep, I usually play two hands (at 3rd base if open). Do you recall if it was a shoe game (hand shuffle or machine) or a CSM ? Tom
  16. THANKS for the inside scoop (that does sound like a pretty small casino)! 1/3 capacity -- definitely enjoy that while it lasts! I think you guys were on the Reflection when we sailed in February of last year? If not, then some other ship. I don't think we ever met though. That sailing was also at about 1/3 full as I recall. It's amazing never having to wait on an elevator !! Tom
  17. YUM ! I've looked at Virgin Voyages a couple of times. Are you in a balcony, or Rock Star... or Mega Rockstar digs? Any transferred credentials or rates for your first sailing (care of the casino)? Tom
  18. Thanks ! Yes, NCL moves their ships around (more than about any other line)! I'd love to see a Solstice class (too much to hope for the newer Edge class) out of Pt. Canaveral - and be a brief 20ish minute drive to the port!! Tom
  19. We were booked on the 2/26 Prima (nice aft corner suite w/hot tub), but I bailed on the ~$13-14k price tag and went with the Mardi Gras that week instead (aft corner excel, and saved over $10k - CHEERS included... hard to pass up)! What was your opinion of MSC? Tom
  20. I agree! On my (eventual) "to do" list: Wonder, Beyond, Icon... (oh... and Prima) Tom
  21. Speaking of golf, albeit "mini", have you been to Baha Mar? Despite the oppressive heat and no breeze that day, we really enjoyed the place... as well as the pizza and wings there. 🙂 Tom
  22. So, in a nutshell, no discount after final payment (either as a refund or OBC)? Tom
  23. To borrow a line from John McClane: everything a growing boy needs. At least it's not HIGH FRUCTOSE corn syrup, lol Tom
  24. We love the Reflection! Don't miss the specialty burger lunch at the Lawn Club Grill nor their cookie dessert (in the evening), also give The Porch a try! Oh, keep an eye out for the brownies at Café al Bacio (they'll show up a couple of days during the week - I probably ate 6-8 of those! Be sure to check out Le Petit Chef as well. Ah - food ! 🙂 Tom
