  1. Not a problem, was just a little mystery to be solved 🙂 There is a Barrier Reef cruise and a New Zealand round-trip that fit the bill, they will be a fantastic combination. Very envious.
  2. TP's have the added bonus for us of having our son and his wife living in Australia. ... just to stay on topic for the OP... If you have a special celebration onboard and feel like a meal in Murano on that day, it is best to book in advance so you can be sure to secure your date and time. Waiting until you are onboard may leave you with less suitable dates/times remaining. Also if you decide to eat in Tuscan, it is an ideal location for a sail-away as you get a splendid view out of the large stern windows...
  3. Something for after I retire I think, right now our next trip at 4 weeks in total (cruise/land) is about the limit, but it will not be too much longer now...
  4. I've spent enough time living in Texas to realize that 'weird' doesn't even begin to cover the food at the State Fair 🙂
  5. That's a good point, I should have noticed as we have booked a New Zealand cruise ourselves in early January next year. The shortest round-trip NZ cruises from Australia are 11 nights, and you can do a one-way at 10 nights, but nothing shorter...
  6. No problem in asking for a table for 2, but they do tend to be in very close proximity to other tables for 2, mere inches away, so it is more like a table for 4 or 6 with no obligation to talk 🙂 ... if you do want a little more privacy just ask if they have something more secluded when requesting the table, it won't always be possible, but doesn't hurt to ask.
  7. On Eclipse it is still Cellar Masters isn't it? similarly it still has the 'Glass Blowing' and does not have the Lawn Club Grill as it has not been through the 'Revolution' yet...
  8. ... not to be confused with the gelato at Al Bacio which is not free... 🙂
  9. That is not correct, but it is easy to be confused by the wording... "*European definition of Up to Date: vaccinated within 9 months (270 days) of final dose in primary series OR at least 1 booster shot. The 270 days must extend to the final day of the cruise. The last primary dose must have been administered at least 14 days prior to embarkation." The 9 months part only applies to those who have not had a booster, they must be within 9 months of the final dose to be considered 'Up to date'. If you have had a booster then you are considered 'Up to date' regardless of how long ago the booster was received.
  10. Yes, all that requires is that someone in the other country has been close enough to the bag with an iPhone to register it's location on the 'Find My' network...
  11. They probably just got the doors wrong on the route from the aircraft, you should not have been deposited into the departure zone from an arriving non-Schengen flight.
  12. Sounds like you missed something in Frankfurt, upon arrival on an international flight from a non-Schengen country, you should have been immigration cleared into the Schengen zone. Once that was done there was no further need for immigration until you were leaving the Schengen zone in Munich, which is what you experienced.
  13. So far we have never actually used room service for a 'meal' as there just isn't any practical way for two people to eat in most of the cabins or the balcony, due to the very poor furniture choices 😞
  14. The way I read it... of course you wouldn't want to order dinner then vacate the cabin, but if you are not there they will leave the food inside, so it may suit you to do that if you know you will be out but still want something to eat when you get back...
  15. That has been my experience too, for many years, but right now though the reality is very different it seems unfortunately.
  16. That's kind of why you get a discount though, you commit to using up the residual inventory and get a price-break. ... although it doesn't seem like much of a saving these days...
  17. Think carefully about Eden though... If it is important that you get a reservation on a particular night or time then it may be worth booking that one before you board as a separate reservation due to the speed with which Eden seems to fill up these days. You can't make booking from your package before boarding so if you decide to stick with the package be prepared to go make the Eden reservation the moment you set foot onboard...
  18. Your Sommelier in Murano will be very willing to assist you in making choices or offering suggestions that fit within your package. It is our clear favorite for dining onboard to the extent that we do not now book cruises on the ships without a Murano...
  19. Most cruise lines tend to take that approach, and it is reasonable as even if suitcases all make it to the ship you do still see cases in the wrong places even into the evening on occasions. Personally I don't pay much attention to what others are wearing at other times either, I just find it funny when people contort their interpretations of the published rules to allow them to break them without admitting they are wilfully deciding to break a rule 🙂 If you want to break the dress code rules then just own it and the consequences if you are called on it by the crew...
  20. The first sea day is a better guide than just the 2nd night, it just happens that the 2nd night is very often the first sea day.
  21. The European destinations do tend to skew a bit more formal, but it really is still an accurate description and smart pants and and shirt will be perfectly fine for the teens, no need for jackets. Even the black tie for yourself is really not needed, but you will not be alone if you do decide to wear it.
  22. I hope you never get the opportunity to explain to a judge how you understood the State Penal Code to be 'guidelines' or 'suggestions' rather than 'rules' ... 🙂
  23. I never cease to be amazed at the ability of people seeking to avoid a rule they dislike to try to skip around the words that don't fit their interpretation 🙂 A 'code' is a set of rules, not a set of 'suggestions'... 'not allowed' seems to be pretty clear to me, but as you put it, 'you do you' and try to imagine those words just don't have the normal meaning 🙂
