I’m thinking of doing a TA from Civitavecchia to NY. I’d like to stay in Sorrento as my base. I can’t take the train because I have a bad leg & luggage. What are my other options? I’d hate to have to go into Rome & then to port. Thank you.

True but when added to Home Screen you don’t need phone service.

a funny thing happened on my prima transatlantic...
cabincop replied to UKstages's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I was on the Joy in the Haven this past Oct. My bed literally shook all nite. Not from the waves of the ocean, but literally up and down shaking me. I called guest services on the third day in tears because I hadn’t slept in three days. My butler also checked the bed and couldn’t believe how much it shaking. At 2 in the morning an assistant GM came to my room with my butler & walked me in my robe & slippers to a balcony room on deck 9. I slept there that nite. Next morning went back to my room , shower & change go eat. I come back to my room. The concierge explained to me that somehow the mattress was off the frame and that’s why it was shaking so badly. He and the butler were able to pick up the mattress and put it back onto the frame, they credited my account for any expenses during the cruise and that was that. -
Can I ask which hotel in Sorrento you stayed. I’m staying there after my cruise. TIA

Joy - Haven vs Non Haven Question those that have done both

I never thought you could have a bad haven room. I was proven wrong however when I went from deck 14 haven to deck 18 haven. It was below hot tubs. And below Vibe. I won’t ever do upgrade again. This was my first time upgrading. Wish I had stayed on 14. -

Tipping the butler and concierge in the Haven

You forgot to showcase this part. Concierge & butler are NOT part of DSC. If your in Haven then you have access to these services. -
Tipping the butler and concierge in the Haven
cabincop replied to Holly g's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Tipping for butler varies. Some say for 7day cruise $10-15pp a day. Concierge I usually give between $25-50 for a 7day cruise. Depending on how much they help me could be more. I would never not tip them tho -

1. What appealed to us was the REAL private 2nd bed and bath for them, the larger balcony and the Haven amenities. I couldn’t find a better deal for 2 cabins in the Haven andreally didn’t want to share a bath and/or have the living room sofa fold out each evening in one of the other “reasonable” Haven options that can accommodate 4. the balcony is nice & big but, part of the Haven is having all the outside area to enjoy. This makes balcony size not such a big deal to us. I understand beds in 2bdrm have drawers on bottom of bed. So where does your luggage go? The smaller bedroom seems like it’s all bed. Every time someone goes in or out room you’ll hear them. I enjoy having the full bed I just wish they had extend the kids bed out a little. Plus where the cawfee pot is, is just weird. -

I am so surprised at the set up of the 2bdrm. That coffee situation is not very sensible either. When are you on? We don’t sail till June 2023 -
So why post it here if it was MSC?

Your butler does not escort you to dinner or off the ship. I think you confused butler & concierge

That is what my gf & I do. I usually have the bigger bedroom & bath. But she gets it this time. She’s going to be a little sad about it. It is perfect for families tho. I saw the owners suite with 2nd bed but most suites on my sailing were sold out. -

Just watched 2bdrm Haven on YouTube. I’m underwhelmed. I’ve stayed in 2bdrm many times before & this seems so small. I don’t see a vanity area with hairdryer & mirror separate sitting area. Living area is small too. Hoping more videos are going to be posted soon. -

I was on Getaway TA in April only 1400 passengers. It was great no lines, great service, elevators empty. Don’t know what I’ll do when it fills up again. Though sadly casino was mostly empty. I’ll be on Joy in October don’t expect it to be at full capacity. -
You are right. I read it quickly. I’m just excited to get it🥳

What is that first drink? Btw can you please let me know what all those great looking drinks are? Thanks -
I received $600 in FCC today as my cruise in Oct finally went down lower than I paid. You have one year to use it from date of issue.

I’ve been to Halifax many times & I love walking the pier. I shop a little & go to some of the great restaurants that line the pier. I was there back in April. Can’t wait to go back. Never been to Peggy’s cove.
