  1. Confirming the name - it's the Skagway Dining Room - deck 6 midship
  2. Reserve Class dining is in the Santa Fe Dining Room - Deck 6 Midship - for Diamond Princess as per Ken's live from thread earlier this year. Same for her sister ship, Sapphire Princess when we were on her.
  3. Just the picture - was focussing on the drawer but the plug thing is there
  4. For info, Princess did release a rendering for The Promenade in their September dining update and the one during the shipyard visit was just a slightly updated rendering without the sofas Original version Shipyard version
  5. Ahh yes I spotted that too - that is NOT like the interior sofa from the room layout picture at all! I did wonder if they needed more room for the ladder so just put something there that would fit lol There was this stray couch in the corridor outside the mockup rooms - where would that go do you think? Good spot on the drawer - mini-suites get the drawer but the standard bathrooms don't! Mini-suite Standard bathroom
  6. This article about the shipyard visit from Insider Travel Report has more information about the casino and elevators: “Around the perimeter, are LED ribbons,” Parker said. “And wrapped around these columns and around the back are also LED strips. So, if someone hits the jackpot, this place will come alive.” When asked about smoking in the casino, Parker said: “it will be smoking and non-smoking. One new innovation we have on this ship is 100 percent fresh-air replenishment in this casino. So that is a separate system that’s been installed in here to continuously replace this space with fresh air.” Though seemingly a pedestrian topic, Sun Princess’ elevators will be “smart.” “When you walk up to an elevator, you hit the deck you want to go to, and it tells you which elevator to get in,” said Parker. Sun Princess’ three elevator bank—located at the ship’s fore, mid and aft—offer guests six or eight cars each. The elevator bank’s computer will calculate the number of floor-stops per car and identify the quickest ride for guests to reach their destination. “We have 4,300 guests, potentially 1,000 uppers, but we wanted the ship still to feel small and intimate,” said Parker. “You’ll see by the way we’ve organized the lobbies and the elevators. It should be very easy for our guests to get around the ship.”
  7. Some of the venues do appear to need a lot more work but as the video mentions, some have carpet and the final finish covered up to protect them. There are 3,500 people working on it almost 24/7 I believe. Maybe they will be working on it up to the wire and won't be doing a full preview cruise from the shipyard/Trieste. And the 2 day inaugural "launch" in Barcelona on the 6th means they will have more control of where the media can roam and what events they put on.
  8. If you want to geek out on more detail then this longer video below of the shipyard visit from an Argentinian channel will tick a few boxes- you can switch on subtitles in English to try and catch some of the commentary. Some interesting sections along the way - 4:13 Lido deck food venue 9:49 International Cafe 10:42 World Fresh Marketplace 16:57 Mockup cabins 18:16 Sockets in cabins
  9. This post tries to capture all the Casual Dining venues and menus
  10. While I can now search for Sun Princess cruises, it won't allow me to select any suites on any of the cruises I checked (I wanted to see if the price had gone down on the inaugural lol). Seems okay for the other cabin types.
  11. Here is a Youtube short video which shows a lot more detail from the deluxe balcony design mockup
  12. Video from Princess showing the keel laying and announcing Captain Gennaro Arma as the first captain of Star Princess
  13. The construction of Star Princess reached a major milestone today with laying of the keel. The 500-ton keel was ceremoniously lowered into position in the building dock, where it will remain until its float-out. A Princess Medallion was also welded into the ship, believed to bring good luck.
  14. Nothing we didn't know already according to my other half - facts n figures about the ship mainly 😁
  15. I think this is the first time we have seen the curvature of those balconies on the Spheres - so weird! I think they are deeper at the bottom but not sure how they will be separated
  16. Cabins 09361 and 09358 are accessible C2 reserve collection cabanas and are actually mid-ship next to the Spheres and the Piazza The only cabins with true aft views are the accessible light blue deluxe balconies in the middle on decks 10 to 14. And even then they will directly look over the Wake View Terrace and not the wake. There are the deluxe balcony cabins on the side (i.e. 14642 and 14643 above) who might have some corner views. This includes penthouse suites on decks 15 to 17 too. Here's an annotated version of Dave Monk's latest picture from the shipyard visit: Click here if you want to view in more detail
  17. Agreed, it does look a bit squeezy!
  18. Some more snippets from this past week's shipyard tour: Here's a video short of the Balcony Stateroom mockup And a full article from Cruise Fever which includes: Power Outlets On each side of the bed, there is a 110 power outlet as well as a standard USB and a USB-C outlet. On the desk, there is also two 110 outlets, two USB, and two USB-C outlets. International Cafe World Fresh Marketplace Pasta Station outside Sabatini's - here will be an area where all of the ship’s pasta will be made. Guests will be able to watch the pasta being made through these windows. Piazza Balcony for Mini Suite
  19. This plan is different to what they did pre-pandemic where there would be a 4 or 5 day preview cruise for the same folks you mention from Trieste to the port where the inaugural would leave from. Not saying there won't be one before this event. But Princess recently held a 360 promo in Barcelona for journalists on Enchanted Princess on a turnaround day Maybe that gave them the idea.
  20. No other sources yet other than the post by a ventriloquist who has been booked to perform at this launch event - not a cruise as such as he said the ship will be anchored in Barcelona for those days. He will also be coming back late Feb and March for some of the actual cruises
  21. Here are some social media pictures tied to the Love by Britto partnership announcement
  22. On deck 9 there are two classes of Cabana staterooms with access to the Cabana deck.. In the deck plan snippet below, C1 Orange are the ones with little privacy but C2 Purple have balconies looking directly over the sea.
  23. Thanks @snoozecrooze for picking up the build news baton! I am on a short festive P&O cruise myself at the moment and had to buy WiFi for reporting the shipyard tour on our sea day 😁 I am sure there will be more reports published over the coming days but still no confirmation of that final specialty dining venue!
  24. The media were shown 6 different types of stateroom mockups. here are some screengrabs from a reel by thetravelista. Inside Stateroom Oceanview Stateroom And some of the Suite balcony furniture - maybe Owners Suite from previous pics posted here
  25. More pictures from Stewart Chiron from the shipyard visit Views forward and aft Cabana Deck - with original rendering The reimagined cabins
