  1. Confirmed that all the fleet now have Starlink up and running, with Coral Princess being rolled out during this current cruise
  2. lol. yes Chef Rudi is very excited about it if you watch the full intro on instagram
  3. First intriguing sneak peek of the stateroom fit out on Sun Princess via Chef Rudi's latest reel - plus some other shots.
  4. Another reel posted by Chef Rudi who has been visiting the shipyard with the Princess corporate team. Some more shots:
  5. We haven't found the equivalent of the Retreat Pool on Sun Princess as yet - the only area noted as adults only is the paid-for Sanctuary. The Sanctuary guests get to share the pool with Suite guests on the Signature Sun Deck and even then we're not sure if kids from suites will be able to use it and thus will it be adults only? So to be confirmed if there will be something else that will be adults only and complimentary.
  6. As per this summary, the cover charge covers 1 x Appetizer, 1 x Pizza or pasta, 1 x Dessert
  7. Princess' Head of Culinary Arts, Rudi Sodamin, has been visiting the shipyard and posted a reel on Instagram yesterday. Lots of in-progress galleys with cables but grabbed some shots for those that can't view it.
  8. No Vines. Princess stopped including Vines on their ships after Sky Princess - the last two ships built (Enchanted and Discovery) haven't included Vines. They have O'Malley's and Salty Dog Gastropub respectively in the same space. O'Malley's does feature on Sun Princess.
  9. Was interested to read on another site how Aussie guests recently received emails from Princess two weeks before boarding their cruises stating that they will receive OBC of AU$25 pp if on Standard or Plus/Premier packages purchased before 14th December 2022
  10. Virgin Voyages announced delays in their Fincantieri build in Genoa last week (it 's inaugural was due in December). I know - it's not Monfalcone where Sun Princess is being built but it was due to them “facing unexpected construction, supply chain and staffing challenges". And that's just a carbon copy of their 3 previous ships not a completely new build. Just saying, nothing is guaranteed.
  11. The only recently released videos (by Adam Savage) were actually filmed after her float out in April. We saw more recent photos in early August. But still a way to go ...
  12. Anne, the lady from Northern Ireland who travelled with her two friends, said it was very much driven by the production company. So Princess had very little say except what was shown of the ship and providing the free cabins/cruise. So the production company would arrange the little trips out in ports in place of Princess excursions. Her friend told them she had limited mobility yet they still had her trying to walk up the lemon farm terraces - they simply didn't listen! And they couldn't get permission to film in some ports so they were missed out altogether in the narrative e.g. Istanbul. It is a misrepresentation and I'm sure some folks are going to have a surprise when they come to compare it to the real thing.
  13. Same cabin size but deeper balcony for d727. Both have some covering but if you are nearer the balcony rails you will be overlooked. See this video for d726 and compare with this video from Enchanted Princess for B734 which will be very similar (both on the other side of the ship but gives you an idea).
  14. Well I started on P&O Canberra as a kid in the 1970s when we slept in the bowels of the ship next to the launderette with bunk beds, a port hole and shared bathrooms. We loved it though. I picked up cruising again with my partner while completing our quest to "visit all 50 US states by the time he is 40". We randomly chose Sapphire Princess to take us to Ketchikan to tick off Alaska and two years later did Hawaii out of LA on the same ship. And we were hooked. As Princess wasn't doing many short cruises in the UK, we supplemented our overseas Princess cruises by going on ten 2-3 day weekend cruise on P&O in two years! We managed to cruise on her whole fleet and then P&O Iona came out. This was only offering 7 day cruises so we bit the bullet. And after four days we wanted to get off. We were so bored..the entertainment and the food...just lacked something. It just wasn't Princess. We have now cruised on 9 cruise lines but keep coming back.
  15. Is that all that's available for your cruise? Mini Suites can be found on plenty of other cabin only decks. They are located here: Category M1/M2: Reserve Mini Suite (Deck 10/11/12/14/15/16/17) Category MA/MD: Mini Suite (Deck 10/11/12/14) Agree it would be best to avoid the reserve mini-suites on 16 and 17 as you may hear Lido deck noise but you should be fine lower down as far as 11 (as deck 10 is over public spaces).
  16. Yes, I heard about this from a TA Youtube video and asked about it in the Dining thread about it a week ago. Someone on Island Princess just before the casual dining rollout was told Princess were stopping the complimentary Alfredo's pizza pop-up in Sabatini's so they could support these new lunchtime bookings. Still waiting to see what happens there as that leaves Island Princess without any casual dining at all so folks would lose out.
  17. This is the special Sanctuary menu
  18. Depends what you like to see- the 7 days will take you through the fjords, with glaciers, waterfalls and nature. Olden and Geiranger are quite glorious. The 8 day is more city-based with lots of arts, museums and culture. We did the fjords last June on Sky and are booked on a shorter Norway/Denmark cruise on her next year.
  19. That's what cruzin4us was trying to find out last Sunday. From their post: "I said "ok", then how are you compensating us that are expecting the 2 pop up lunches that replace Alfredos/Gigi's or Gastropub. He didn't know how to answer my question (not good enough). I said how about 1 dinner at a Specialty Restaurant (seems fair to me). He is referring me to a "Higher Up" to get back to me......we'll see." Will they have to balance income from Sabatini's lunches v compensation for lack of casual dining?
  20. @cruzin4us posted from the Island Princess here on the 27th - assume that's your sailing - they asked about the pop-up and was told it wasn't happening even though you had 3 sea days. I wonder if your patters show Sabatini's open for lunch anyway? Someone on the previous cruise was told the complimentary pop-ups would disappear to make way for fully paid Sabatini's lunches
  21. Oh I mentioned this might be on the cards on another thread. @Cruise Raider are lunch bookings for speciality restaurant's actually happening then? I saw a TA mention it on their youtube channel but not seen anything official. She said it would be the full menu and will offer more booking slots as the evenings are so busy.
  22. I believe it was just pizza. But need confirmation that it will continue - I believe they haven't had any pop-ups for the last two Island Princess cruises either just before or after the casual dining changes.
  23. The casual dining options on Majestic Princess are Alfredo's and Vines Alfredos 2.pdf Vines.pdf
  24. Depends on how folks choose to cruise.. they have plenty of other complimentary food options but not stateroom delivery
  25. And there will still be the old Plus guests who won't get the two included meals, don't see the benefit in upgrading and won't be inclined to pay the extra fees - this will tail off eventually.
