  1. My agent mentioned a loyalty discount but that could mean it's coming from their side. I am leaving it to them as long as the price is what they quoted don't really mind how they get there!
  2. Well I went ahead and booked. I have a good travel agent who was honest and said their feedback was still positive for the onboard experience and they have a team that just deals with Azamara admin!! He gave me a price which I was happy with and he said that in about a week they should manage to get Azamara to issue a correct invoice with our loyalty discount. He said that at the moment it is the loyalty scheme that is causing them the most issues. I paid by Amex and it is charged directly by Azamara and we have pretty good financial protection in the UK if it all goes horribly wrong. Fingers crossed I will be lucky and my booking won't be one of the problematic ones.
  3. I really like the look of an itinerary on Journey in September next year from Athens. I would have normally jumped straight in but really am hesitating. I am assuming by then they will have either sorted out all the onshore service issues or won't be trading. I have asked my TA for a quote and he said he will have to come back to me as their trade website is not clear and it's difficult to instantly quote on them. I would never book direct and always pay deposit on Amex. What to do??
  4. I am sorry to hear about this. Not everyone is the same and can just shrug it off and hope all turns out ok in the end. It isn't your fault nor the travel agent. Lot's of apologists on here but sorry this is not acceptable or any way to treat customers.
  5. I'm trying Oceania in November. My heart wants to book Azamara in January but my head says they are too chaotic for me at the moment.
  6. I don't think she is reading this thread. The IT department is still on Windows 3.1 so it isn't compatible.

    If invoices aren't automatically issued how would any discrepancy be picked up? That seems dangerous. My agent always inserts the invoice into their own bespoke documentation. I always take a printed copy with me
  8. I think you need a figure per night that you are comfortable with and feels like good value for you. Then book it. I know what I have paid in the past but need to add a big chunk due to inflation and then I will also add more on if it's an unusual itinerary or peak season. I might not make sense but the system works in my head!!
  9. I use a travel agent and am very happy with them. However, you shouldn't have to use one or find other websites to book a cruise with Azamara. It seems bizarre that they are driving business away to other booking channels. The website had better functionality before the update. It just doesn't make sense to me.
  10. I think the food is ok. Nothing special. I like the grill and buffet. I think a lot of people book Azamara as they like the small ships, good staff and port heavy itineraries. All lines have had to try and cope with vastly increased costs and food inflation. It's a balancing act. If they put the prices up people will think well I might as well go on Silversea. I guess the issue for Azamara comes when they look to the future and how long the ships will be in service without major maintenance.

    I don't expect Oceania to be perfect but am going with an open mind. I am sure Azamara could care less about my revenue but I want to see how the website/back office issues play out before I commit again. At least with Oceania I can log on and service my booking.
  12. As you are coming a long way why not get the train from London to Paris. You can then visit Paris and do a day trip or mini trip to Normandy. I would never take a trip just for one port as you could have bad weather and miss it.

    I've voted with my feet/cash. I just booked Oceania over Azamara. Never been on them. I might hate it but Azamara have not instilled confidence in me so will see what the competition is like.
  14. In the UK you might have options with CC charge back or small claims court. It really isn't acceptable. You paid for a product and did not get it. You also wasted your time which is very frustrating.

    Sent another form as my points are incorrect but loyalty level shows ok. Even the form says click on 'submit' but the actual button says 'get help'. They have been in this state since February. I wonder how much longer it will take to correct all the errors? The cruise I am toying at booking on the UK website shows in GBP but when you click through changes to USD, The sad thing is that even if the site was bug free it is worse than the old one!!!

    I do not understand how I get every email from them regarding the latest sale but had not had one of these updates. Do you think they only go to booked guests?

    I would like to book another cruise with Azamara but I am waiting for the dust to settle. I am not someone who ignores errors/incorrect information. It's just the control freak in me and I know it would nag at me and spoil my overall anticipation. I hope by the end of this month we are back to regular service and I feel confident to book again. Until then I can shop around as there is still thankfully a lot of choice out there. Azamara is not doing us a favour by taking our money.

    I looked today on two major US websites and could not find Azamara. This of course just could be coincidence or just my lack of IT skills.

    The danger for Azamara is that people just give up trying to book with them and go elsewhere. If travel agents can book easily but then find it very hard to service bookings then they will also start to switch sell. I've been holding off on a cruise for 2025 to see how this plays out. I might miss out on a good price but I just can't be doing with hassle. I am very sorry for the regular staff who have to deal with this.

    On a positive note I did get the latest email offer. I am hoping I am now back on the list! On the negative side I cannot view any cruises on the website at all. Maybe they are working on it?
  24. If you are waiting for a reply to a Facebook message best of luck. They still haven't replied to my 2018 and 2022 questions!
  25. I guess they keep having 'special offers' of 500 and 1000 USD OBC. They just up the prices to absorb that. Or am I being cynical.
