  1. Thanks for the information. I’m going on my birthday cruise next month and I want to pamper myself and book some spa treatments and see if I can book Chef’s Table for my birthday. OBC will help me to do this.
  2. But can I apply before I board ( whenI pre book)?
  3. Can you use onboard credit if you are pre booking?
  4. I did not know that you could book them with the Cruise Next people until I was on the BTS tour and the CN person told us. I went to book the shows as soon as the BTS tour ended. I don’t know if that happens only on the Escape. I would like to know if this happens in other ships.
  5. I am absolutely sure that was the case because I was traveling with my best friend on that Panama Canal cruise and we booked other shows for both of us but I was the only one booking the comedy since she doesn’t like it. @hallux is correct too. When I was on the Escape I was also able to book the comedy show with a cruise next representative. I also booked the Choir of Men and the Supper Club dinner show using the Cruise Next person. That was a new one to me. I wish that was the case for all the ships.
  6. When I I was on the Joy in January, my best friend and I went to the Social Comedy Club and Night Club ( deck 6) on embarkation day and booked all the entertainment that could be booked including the comedy for me. They give you a paper with the shows and times/ dates and you fill it while you’re in line and then turn it in.
  7. That’s exactly what I do and once in a while I print the signature to have a written record just in case,
  8. I have won trophies for all the Carnival ships that I ‘ve sailed except for the Mardi Gras. I won a game and a trivia but the host was only giving medals.
  9. I would agree with you until my May cruise. My cousin and I joined a young woman who happened to have a photographic memory. I thought that photographic memory was a myth until we met her.
  10. I figured it out. Check the Miami Herald photo with the big 3 ships and. a fourth smaller ship docked at the port. It could have been one of the ships used on the investigation or something else.
  11. I wish I had taken a picture because there were 3 ships behind the Escape. The Sky was too gray so I didn’t take one.
  12. Yes but people were mentioning here about 3 cruise lines NCL, Carnival and MSC. NCL had the Escape, Carnival the Celebration and MSC at least one ship but which line had a second ship to make it 4 ships.
  13. I agree with you. I think NCL handled it well considering the situation. We knew from the beginning that there was an accident involving a small vessel and the captain and the cruise director gave us updates every 30 minutes. They also told us that once we were allowed to dock at the port, Customs was going to take about 2 hours to do the inspection. That way people could calculate if they needed to change their travel arrangements.
  14. I was on the Escape. There was no compensation for people onboard but I was not expecting anything because it was not NCL’s fault. They offered 30 minutes of free internet to make flight or/ and hotel arrangements They also said several times that we were 5 miles from the port and if we could go to the starboard side of the ship, we might get cellular service and use the phone. I did that and could call American Airlines several times until I could change my flight from the 3:05 p.m. to the 7:30 p.m. I was lucky that the flight was delayed and it left at about 9:00 p.m. I heard many people on the ship that had to stay in Miami that night or even go to Fort Lauderdale to go home. The AA Rebooking Center had the longest line I had ever seen that went from about Gate 38 to Gate 44. NCL gave updates every 30 minutes and had activities on the ship like the Family Circus a movie in the theater etc. People were allowed to stay in the cabins until late. One thing that maybe someone can clarify here. When I was eating lunch in the Garden buffet I saw 3 other ships behind the Escape. Was it that there was one cruise line that had 2 ships there?
  15. I’m confused because I used facial recognition with Norwegian out of NewYork last year. I sailed out of New York twice with NCL once in the fall and once in December and it was really fast.
  16. I tried to find the answer and too many threads come out that don’t have anything to do with it. RCI finally posted excursions to a port on the cruise that I am sailing on next week. I put an excursion in the cart because the other ones below were for other ports that I already had booked. As I continued to scroll down I found another one that was for the whole day. I tried to put it in the cart but it is not allowing me to do it and I cannot remove the first one.
  17. I do the same thing. I also like that it saves a trip to the Cafe each morning to get it.
  18. I’m sorry that this happened to you. I have been lucky that on the tours that I have taken, photography was permitted at least in the laundry, provision area and in the kitchen. I agree with you. I’m turning Diamond this year and there’s not a lot of difference between Sapphire and Diamond.
  19. I was on a Baltic cruise on the Dawn last June. I didn’t buy alcohol but bought merchandise from Tradewinds and they charged extra taxes giving the same excuse. If they do it with the regular merchandise, they probably do it with the alcohol.
  20. I was on the Gem with my cousin on the following cruise 4/30 to 5/6/23. We met a mother and adult daughter who we saw a few times during the cruise. The mother sent an e- mail to my cousin after the cruise to let us know that she and her daughter had Covid. My cousin and I tested for Covid but we were negative. I wonder how many other people got Covid on the Gem.
  21. On the Gem, O’Sheehans has the regular coffee and Starbucks coffee too. Maybe other O’Sheehans do the same.
