  1. Now that is a very good question however I am afraid I can’t confirm if this is possible however I don’t see why not. They are the ones providing the cruise so they should be able to arrange your transport too. I am sure someone who has experience with this will chime in soon. I see with the comments above from terrydtx that there many more possibilities with flights in the US than in/from Europe. All I can say is do your homework and if booking with F.E. make sure you know all the possibilities/flights first.
  2. Are you still looking at separate flights because with the airline they will always( in our case) be way more expensive a KLM single flight is often more expensive than an open jaw return. As there is only 18 days between flights I would wait until you can check return flights and then if F.E. is still much cheaper make your choice.
  3. In Tokyo it is very easy to use their transport system and do it on your own. When you are all templed/shrined out I suggest you visit this place it is extraordinary. If it is booked keep trying as we managed to book last minute tickets on the actual day. https://www.teamlab.art/e/tokyo/
  4. My advise would be to check an “open jaw” booking first on Google flights or ITA matrix, this is a flight booking to one city returning from another. It will nearly always be significantly cheaper then doing two flights separately. Then you can always check what HAL is offering and decide if its worth booking with them. I like to book directly with the airline to eliminate the middle man and let me keep control of my booking.
  5. If you do make it to Santorini, there is an alternative to the cable car, you can take a boat directly fro the tender port to Oia. To be honest we were there in October and it was so crowded you could hardly walk through the streets. You can Google “boat transfer Santorini” Here is an example https://transfer-to-oia.gr/
  6. These show the fotos of her sister ships, the balcony looks quite unique. https://halfacts.com/vista-class/4123-zuiderdam/ happy planning
  7. I know it would be adding an extra expense (Tokyo hotels don’t come cheap) but have you considered overnighting in Tokyo?
  8. Have you tried calling HAL to see if they have an offer for you?
  9. I had the same experience loved the first hated the second (no nutmeg please) so went on to my second favorite Lemon drop for the rest of the cruise. Will try your tips next time.
  10. I always ask for the Vanilla saus instead of the ice cream, usually request a double portion as they tend to put it in the small containers used for ketchup and mayonnaise.
  11. If you sign in with your mail account you should see your initial in the top right hand corner. If you click on that it should show upcoming/previous cruises if you click on that you should see your level and number of points. That said there do seem to be some problems with this (as you already mentioned) Happy planning Rosalyn
  12. Just returned from the N.S. and we always had a nightly turn down service, towel animals and HAL chocolates only on “dressy nights” Would definitely have preferred a stroop wafel but presume it would be a mini one. We just put the tidy my room card on when we went to dinner. Have a great cruise, we did.
  13. We just returned from a two week Nieuw Statendam cruise with C.O. The ship was completely sold out and very crowded. We absolutely loved ordering our tea and freshly squeezed orange juice every morning from room service. We were also so pleased with the C.O. dining room the service was excellent and it was very quiet compared to the MDR. We have said if we ever do a Pinnacle ship again we will definitely go the C.O. route
  14. I wish all of you a safe flight/return trip home and hope the lucky ones staying on have a great cruise. We enjoyed meeting some of you and who knows maybe we will meet again on another cruise. Feeling unashamedly totally smug that we only have a thirty minute drive home as we usually have long flights and jet lag pre cruise. Rosalyn
  15. For those in Rotterdam on 4th May, this is remembrance day in The Netherlands where 2 minutes silence is held from 20:00.I wonder if they will do this on the ship? 5th May is the celebration of liberation day.
  16. Sorry afraid not but as vegetarian food was also mentioned that is why I posted our C.O. menu. I would like to add that they are very good in the C.O.at adapting your choices and will always get me a crisp if it is shown on the MDR menu but not on the C.O. menu.
  17. I am sorry but it is for me so not sure what to do about this. I just clicked and its now yellow. Can you see it.?
  18. This is an example of our (dressy) menu tonight in C.O., there are vegetarian offers however they are not Indian.
  19. It was all in the attachment and to be honest who wants to do a cruise less than 13 days!😁
  20. If it is a Pinnacle ship I would advise asking if Club Orange is available, you pay $15 per day and get to chose your own cabin in the veranda class. If it is not a Pinnacle ship the price difference is not usually worth it (for me) and I would do as others suggest and pay for a cabin of your choice. I always like to choose my own cabin and location. https://www.hollandamerica.com/content/dam/hal/inventory-assets/activity-types/dining/club-orange/Club_Orange_Benefits.pdf
  21. What he meant was a “hard boiled egg” I thought it was funny but might be my twisted sense of humour.
  22. Two thoughts for today if I may. Yesterday we sat in our bus waiting for our tour to begin when a discussion ensued between a couple with a “service dog” in a stroller and our driver. This took thirty minutes and we are not sure what exactly happened but in the end they got off our bus and got on a different one. Possibly with a dog lover! Heard at breakfast today ”Sir how would you like your eggs? I would like them hard! Sometimes it might be useful to learn a few English words before boarding 😀
