  1. Watch out for the Iguanas falling out of trees.
  2. That is high, we can dine in our home city at a 4- or 5-star fine dining restaurant for less than that. We will be on the Apex in September, and I think we will pass on trying it.
  3. Once again Celebrity being consistent about being inconsistent! My quote was from the description for drinks packages under "manage your trip" for our Equinox cruise in June. BTW it also showed the PDP price as $98.99 per person per day pre-cruise with 9% discount. We are in the Retreat for that cruise and have the PDP already. On the Reflection I was able to order 12-year-old Mccallan scotch in the PDP and I do not see it listed now under availability of whiskeys. I enjoy a Mccallan before dinner. But they do have Macallan Lumina, The Macallan Quest listed.
  4. According to the Celebrity Website Beverage package description, large martinis are supposed to be included in the PDP. Cocktails: Craft cocktails, large martinis, and long drinks, all made with Premium Beverage Package spirits
  5. Call FBC and see if they can get you on a flight that arrives earlier in the day, if possible.
  6. I think the same rules apply as the drinks package, both people in the same cabin have to have the package which makes it over $80 with tips per cabin per day. That is a lot of soda and water.
  7. If they did they would cost a fortune. The water sold in the bars is 12 oz canned water that costs as much as a soft drink. We always have the drinks package so have not had to pay for water onboard.
  8. You can bring an insulated water bottle with you and refill for free at the water stations in the OVC.
  9. Wait a minute I resemble that old fart comment, LOL BTW I wore shorts most of this past week with temps in the high 70's and 80's here in South TX.
  10. I know from several years of our posting on CC that your taste for a cruise is very similar to mine so I can't wait to hear how you like or dislike the Oceania cruise in May.
  11. I looked into Azamara too but I do not like their itineraries for South America and New England/Canada compared to Oceania. Viking Ocean just released their 2024 and 25 South America and New England/Canada itineraries and they also are not as good as Oceania. I also have a huge problem with pre-paying for a $15K plus cruise 12 months in advance like VO requires. So, it looks like we keep our booking on Oceania Marina for Jan 2025 and we will book our New England cruise soon with them too. Our formula for now is #1 the Itinerary and then #2 the cruise line and product and then #3 the price of comparable cabins.
  12. Eden is a specialty restaurant not to be confused with the MDR. The discussion here has been that the prime rib and other better entrees like rack of lamb are no longer available in the MDR. Sure, the specialty restaurants may have prime rib and rack of lamb as they should since you pay a very premium price to dine there. Tuscan Grill has had rack of lamb in the past but for a cover charge over $50pp plus tips, rivals what it can be bought in a better fine dining land restaurant.
  13. GC and private islands are two stops we are not thrilled about. We will probably go ashore on GC since we are taking our 12-year-old granddaughter with us for her first cruise, and she wants to either swim with the sea turtles or sting rays.
  14. I will have our butler bring a bottle of red and white wine to our SS the day before we get to GC. Just in case.
  15. I have been told that the Indian vegetarian dishes are very good, but they may not be in the OVC anymore.
  16. Carnival, NCL and Royal have been off our lists for many years. HAL went off our list last year after the Covid experience we had on the Oosterdam. Our list is now Celebrity, Oceania and Viking Ocean.
  17. This is why I do not ever eat Tilapia, and why I will not eat farm raised shrimp, especially if they are from Indonesia. Most farm raised shrimp comes from Indonesia and there have been reports many of the shrimp farms feed them with human and animal excrement. China supplies most of the frozen Tilapia sold in the world but here in the US much of the fresh Tilapia sold in markets comes from Costa Rica and is farmed safer, but I still won't eat it.
  18. The one couple, I know who have sailed with VV say it is an upscale Carnival cruise, that is more expensive, something I have zero interest in at my age.
  19. At the time Celebrity wanted over $100 for the transfer. Even at that no way we wanted to be on a bus with 30 other strangers.
  20. One other cause may be with the shortage of staffing, the bartenders and servers are given a day ashore with no relief help available.
  21. If you let the MDR manager know ahead of time many of the dishes can be prepared for you glutton free. In the Tuscan Grill they have available glutton free pasta. The first night usually your waiter in the MDR will ask if you have any food allergies.
  22. What is Sierra Mist, some type of hard cider?
  23. We finally made Elite and it sounds like this one good amenity, one free bag per person, is not so good after all.
