  1. For those who have used OnPoint for proctored virtual testing (using one's own home tests), does the appointment have to be scheduled many days in advance? Can it be made the day before or even the same day?
  2. @cruisestitch Yes, we are on these two Summit sailings and I believe the answers scrapcreator provided above are right on... from what I know so far. I did confirm with the onshore concierge that Celebrity will provide a COVID test on the first cruise (last day before first cruise disembarkation) at their expense and for the Bermuda testing requirement. We're still researching how we will get our proctored COVID tests for the first sailing. We fly to Boston on Saturday PM (Oct 1) and expect to get tested on Saturday morning (so in case we have a positive test we are still at home and not already in Boston). I'm checking with our usual local sources (CVS, Walgreens) and am also looking at a virtual proctoring service (OnPoint) to use some of our home self tests.
  3. I would assume the immigration & customs officials can't get on the ship until the ship arrives at 10 AM.
  4. If you get the opportunity after you disembark, let everyone know if it goes quicker than usual. Our next Summit cruise is Oct 3, and the prior one before us also stops in Portland before disembarking in Boston.
  5. The itinerary in the post I commented on didn't mention any other non-US port other than Bermuda.
  6. The Passenger Vessels Services Act (the cruise ship version of the Jones Act) requires a foreign port stop for a non-US cruise ship embarking & disembarking from the US. Assuming your ship is registered outside the US (almost all are), the Bermuda stop meets that requirement... and not sure there would be a viable foreign port alternative.
  7. Agreed… it doesn’t make sense. Self tests don’t have a time stamp, so they’re meaningless in this context.
  8. If you’re sailing to Canada or Bermuda, you cannot do a self-administered, non-proctored test. But if going on a cruise greater than 9 nights AND not going to those destinations, you can do a self test and simply bring a picture of the results (or the actual test kit). This seems to be the next step in dropping the testing requirement altogether.
  9. Just want to confirm I'm not missing something. Last cruise was Nov 2021, and when checking in on the Celebrity app, I had to upload our COVID vaccination cards in addition to answering the "Are you vaccinated?" question. However, for our recent check-in, I only had to answer the vaccination question... no upload required. Since our cruise is going to Canada (NE/Canada cruise from Boston), I believe I will need to upload that info to the ArriveCAN app, but had Celebrity stopped requiring this upload at check-in? I still assume they will check it at embarkation.
  10. We are taking the Summit on the Oct 3 NE/Canada sailing, and I've been looking at the excursions on the Celebrity website (Cruise Planner). Many tours are labeled as "World Wings" tours and, in the fine print, it says you have to be member of the World Wings group. If not, you will be refunded the tour's cost. Does anyone know about these tours? Are they really limited to World Wings "group" members and not open to other cruise guests? Seems odd to have them listed in the Cruise Planner, but with the "fine print" caveat.
  11. @BratDet Many of the prior postings state that they were moved to a different “isolation” cabin in a separate area of the ship, but you indicated that you were allowed to stay in your suite. Did they give you that option or did you have to insist?
  12. @BratDet In the letter you posted regarding your options, Celebrity indicated you could continue isolating onboard "even if this means staying onboard for all or part of the vessel's next voyage". Were you already booked on the next cruise (as a B2B) or were they offering to have you sail again, with part of that sailing in isolation?
  13. With the crew now having to wear masks and your positive PCR test, are you hearing if there is a mini-outbreak on the ship or just a precaution?
  14. The policy I was originally referring to is shown below and covers sailings thru Nov 30, 2022. Covid-19 Assistance Book any Celebrity Cruise that’s sailing between now and November 30, 2022, and you’ll have the following reassurance at no extra charge: 100% cruise fare refund for you, and your Traveling Party, if any of you tests positive for COVID-19 within 10 days prior to the cruise or at the boarding terminal.** Pro-rated cruise fare refund for anyone who has their cruise cut short due to testing positive for COVID-19 or being suspected of having COVID-19 during the cruise.
  15. In our situation, we are on the Summit for both sailings... both departing from Boston. First one returns to Boston and second leg (a repositioning cruise) leaves Boston and disembarks in Miami. If we test before we fly to Boston and (hypothetically) test positive, we won't fly to Boston and expect to be reimbursed by Celebrity for that sailing. Based on prior responses, it sounds like Celebrity expects that we will rebook our flights to Boston and join the second sailing (assuming we test negative by then)... and no option to just get reimbursed for the second cruise.
  16. Just a hypothetical question which I hope will not occur for us... We're on a B2B in October 2022, and I understand that Celebrity's policy is that if you test positive within 10 days of embarkation, you cannot board (makes sense) AND they refund 100% of the cruise fare. In that case, what happens to the second cruise of the B2B? Do they automatically cancel that one too and refund that cruise fare? The second cruise is more than 10 days after the first cruise (i.e., each sailing is 12 nights), so theoretically one might be well out of the "COVID positive" window and able to cruise (with a negative test). But not sure I will want to take the second cruise if the first one is canceled for us.
  17. Does Celebrity assume that each passenger will research & determine each port's entry requirements and be ready to present documentation at embarkation? I had no idea about the ArriveCAN app & Canada's requirements until I found this CC thread. I've looked through my sailing's Booking Confirmation and did not find this mentioned anywhere (although I might have missed something in the fine print). I realize that each passenger is responsible, but wouldn't it be useful for Celebrity to provide a head's up?
  18. I assume your B2B required a COVID test done onboard during your first sailing, but there is no mention of that in the letter. Was that handled separately?
  19. Not sure what the “standard B2B letter” is. Can someone summarize its contents and/or purpose?
  20. Excellent suggestion! On our upcoming B2B, I plan to request A LOT of hangers. 😊
  21. We have a Summit B2B in Oct and have been told that the negative COVID test for the second cruise is provided by Celebrity onboard during the end of the first cruise. As has been noted by other CC members, if you test positive then, you cannot continue on the second cruise (no option to just quarantine onboard the second) and are escorted off the ship at the first cruise's disembarkation port.
  22. I called Celebrity and the rep said my Oct 3 sailing is NOT covered by the Cruise with Confidence program since that ends for sailings after Sept 2022. I'm assuming that their policy re: someone testing positive just before the cruse (or during the sailing) still applies. The Celebrity rep also said that my current Oct sailing does NOT require a pre-cruise COVID test, but then admitted that the testing policy is only "in place" for sailings thru August 2022... BUT is usually extended by Celebrity each month as the next sailings get closer. So my assumption is that it will exist for October and many months beyond.
  23. Could someone confirm what I believe is the current status of Celebrity's Cruise with Confidence program? It is only for sailings booked by March 2022 and for sailing dates thru September 2022. I read something on a different posting that said it was for sailings thru December 2022, but I don't see that anywhere on the Celebrity site... just the September 2022 sailing deadline. So my assumption is that my October 2022 sailings are not part of the Cruise with Confidence program and any cancellation is per the usual cancelation policy found in the contract document.
  24. By "tender", do you mean the ferry from the Royal Naval Dockyards (where the ship docks) to Hamilton?
