  1. Emergencies do happen, but I’m curious do you know what the issue was? It seems like this Scenario has happen frequently and causes the cruise to divert. Since, there is an extensive medical forms to be filled out, are the emergencies more of the broken bone or heart attack or something else?
  2. Best of luck and thank you for your help!
  3. Are you suggesting an explorer ship that can actually land in Antarctica?
  4. What happens when the cruise doesn’t make it to major sporting event? I can only imagine those discussions on this site!
  5. I was also on this cruise and hence I really don’t trust Regent, the Captain hid that whole cruise. I do have another cruise booked with them in August on Voyager. It was picked because it started in Turkey and was rather cheap because of the credits I had and it has no sea days. I’m ok with missing ports because of weather, the rooms and common areas may need a refresh and the internet I’m aware will be spotty. As long as the service and food is good, I’m fine. If however, I find out that two weeks before they change everything again, I will go back to just land trips. I plan those myself and don’t have the level of problems that the cruise industry has right now.
  6. I also read that “tripped up” column and totally agree. We never purchase the Regent or for that matter the insurance offered by the any cruise line or tour group. It isn’t in your best interest. I look at it from this point of view - HR in most companies protects the company, not so much the employee.
  7. The black, white and pearl thing I think was part of the 30 year’s anniversary celebrations. I just happened to have all of the stuff, but I think some folks were clued in because they had been on prior cruises that year and expected it. They really don’t do much in the way of themes. However, the Beatles and Abba parties have been around for awhile and once again, some folks have clothing that celebrates the era.
  8. Yup, this is us. I hate the fact that so many hotel rooms only have a shower. I’m the leisurely bath person with long hair, a shower is only used if I need to wash my hair. Our two person bathtub at home is used all of the time. Hence, we will never be in a penthouse room on the newer ships!
  9. Not overkill, two folks can get ready and not bump into each other!
  10. I will be gold on my next cruise this year and cruised twice the last two years. I’m also 64, don’t know if they only took so many from each age group. I would think certain age groups may have different thoughts and needs that they would like to understand.
  11. You mention Turkey, Voyager has cruises this year that start or end in Istanbul. I’m on one of them, have you heard some possible changes?
  12. Hence, another reason to just go book your own flights, collect your mileage/points/awards and take the middle man out of the middle.
  13. The state question was one of my dad’s favorite when I was a kid! Keep having fun.
  14. I can put these Regent tags right next to my United Platinum tag and Marriott lifetime titanium and let everyone know how special I am. I do have those levels, but I don’t have the tags on my bags! Rather stay under that radar.
  15. No one is usually tending the bar in Chartreuse, so we go to Prime 7 and get our drinks. We normally ask the host to get the chips for us. Like I said sometimes they have told me no, but I have asked nicely a second time and have received them a few minutes later. We may or may not be staying for dinner.
  16. You want to order the Pommes Gaufrettes from the Chartreuse menu. They are a waffle cut potato chip and don’t come out of a bag. Get two orders, they are very good!
  17. Right up my alley, also with some music not from 1970, but not loud enough to offend others. We really like getting a drink in Prime 7, nice and quiet. We also like to take that drink over to Chartreuse and order the potato chip thing to enjoy with the drink. We have gotten push back on getting those wonderful chips, but we have always gotten them!
  18. Top this find, for a duck. Regent cruise last year, we take a helicopter to Whitehaven beach. I decided to pick up the little pieces of plastic on the beach as I walk. I look down and there is the perfect little rubber duck. He came home with me!
  19. I did complete the survey. I’m ok with out the airfare and transfers - we never use them. Now, if I need to sign a bar tab, I will be very unhappy. The excursions, I’m mixed about - I do like them included, but they really need to do a better job with many of them. Now, if Regent wants to hire me to research the excursions, please reach out!
  20. Is this Mr Stanley or Mrs Tanley who is concerned about the color selection, the toe separators (which I don’t really like, I have little toes) and no drying machines(these days many places don’t have them because the polish is quick dry and some folks are concerned about the UV lights and cancer). Totally, agree on the price comment! Tanley.
  21. The original question was how to get in, not out! Haha, would love to see the crane! Need to have a laugh sometimes .
  22. Since tipping is included, just hand out stickers. Funny, I worked in tech and did have stickers on my laptop, but since I retired, I don’t really see the need for them.
  23. You can also ask your TA, that you would like diet tonic water and Hendricks gin in your cabin. They can make a request and hopefully it is waiting for you when you get to your concierge cabin. This has always worked for us. Mind you, club soda is sometimes an issue - I have received club water, soda water, seltzer and a bunch of things that aren’t the club soda that is served in the states! Lol.
