  1. Thank you for the responses! This was hopefully the first of many trips back to the area, but not in the summer!
  2. I was recently in the area and saw this hotel, but with the masses of folks visiting Eze, looks like a spot that you are stuck at the hotel. Does it become enchanting after 6 when people leave?
  3. Like the Norma line, but Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.
  4. Hence, the problem. With the pricing model, most folks expect more consistently between the cruises and ships, at least as it relates to service, food, etc.
  5. Also, if you have location services turned on and start loading up pics to social media, poachers will use this information. Obviously, no one wants that to happen. I may not be an elephant, but I don’t want to hear your phone either! Bring a real camera, you will be happy you did.
  6. Yes, buy the wipes! Much easier to pack and can even be in your carry on luggage.
  7. Oh, let’s say it is! Lol. Where is Mr L - he started this!
  8. MJ is spot on. Compass Rose is never fast, go there on a sea day for a leisurely breakfast.
  9. I’m with you! This American, loves going to a sauna in Many parts of Europe for the reasons you mention above. I will admit the first time I was in the woman’s sauna on Splendor, I put the towel down and was sitting there naked, before I realized that man or women could look in the window. I really didn’t care much about that, but I’m taking a guess that would be frown upon.
  10. I have also been seated next to old people that can’t hear so well and have a tendency to shout to their spouse, but we don’t tell them they can’t get on the ship. Also, the high squeal voice or very loud laugh. You just make sure not to sit next to them next time or be asked to move. We did that one time when the couple next to us had very different political beliefs, that they are entitled to have, but we didn’t want to listen to it for the next two hours. As for the baby, it would be great if the parents were adulting, but if they aren’t, just stop by and say hello and wish them luck with a big smile on your face! The kid may stop or the parents may wake up. We have never had a kid issue while sailing.
  11. I met you on the cruise in NZ, the night of the fireworks in Sydney, when others on the ship thought standing in front of you while you were eating was a fine idea and not at all rude! Back to your post, the FCC amount, just seems off and not quite right. I understand the math, but it would leave a bad taste in my mouth, also. Haha, at 61 - they need more folks in that age bracket!
  12. Thanks again for a wonderful review. Now, if we could only get pizza like that on a ship!
  13. I just stayed at Le Meridan. I’m a loyal Marriott person. We had a great garden/sea view and a very big balcony looking over the park. It was great and the room was a bit odd in design, but we really liked it. Helped that breakfast was included and had everything! If you are thinking about relaxing around the pool, forget about that. There is one set of chairs that would be ok, but in the full sun. If you want to drink and hop into the pool - that would work well. The bar up there is very nice. Location worked well for us and the tram was within walking distance. We also did a cooking Le Petite Farcis, which we really enjoyed. Loved the Chagall museum, also.
  14. After my disappointment earlier this year with missing lots of ports in New Zealand, because of the dirty hull issues. I decided that I would look at cruising very differently going forward. Meaning if I really wanted to see/visit say Israel for a trip, it would be land based. Reasoning being, to my knowledge there isn’t a land based trip that can do what the cruise lines can do. If you book a land based trip to Israel, you go to Israel, they can’t change the trip to Greece because it is safe. The tour is cancelled, not changed into something you didn’t expect. I understand Regents contract and issues on this, but it’s my money and I would have not been pleased. However, I won’t be in this position, ever again. I do have a cruise booked with Regent for next August, but it starts in Turkey and ended in Israel, so I’m expecting it will be totally changed into something I don’t want, but it was only for 9 days. Since, I don’t have much money riding on this, I have options - unlike the group on the trip now. Good luck.
  15. I don’t really care about the free tote, but I like your style.
  16. I will use numbers next time to make each point very clear. I’m more of numbers person than English major!
  17. Always love your reviews. I hear you on the issue - we want to go on this cruise line. We did that years ago with friends and they bailed anyway. Luckily, we could also!
  18. All the hotel movement is because, prior to the landslide in the park, everyone would get in a school bus and spend a very long day going out to Kantisha lodge. That lodge is 92 miles into the park. However, the landslide is at mile 42, so you can’t get there at this time. So, in the past, the tours stayed at the beginning of the park for at least two full days, if not three. I stayed at Kantisha lodge years ago and it was beautiful and the hiking was great, until the day trippers appeared! Now you have to fly in and out to that lodge. I did just look this up, it doesn’t open until the beginning of June. We did our own thing starting in Fairbanks and using the train to travel between tge towns. Good luck with your planning.
  19. I love how you think Regent is going to put you in helicopter for that last little section! If you staying at the Hermitage or the other hotels in that class, you can indeed pay for the service. I had that option last month, but the lovely Mercedes was just fine for us. Took less than an hour. Where does Regent put you for the night? Get tickets for car museum, well worth it! My husband and I both enjoyed it!
  20. Really, looks they totally copied the best tote - Longchamp. I will use my real ones with the leather straps, they are a bit classier! The gold thing was a bit much, sounds like I should put that up on EBay! I will let you know when I do that!
  21. Do you folks still have plastic on your couches, also? 😆
  22. Mariner(got Starlink, at whatever speed it’s cranking at). Meaningless, to me, because I’m on Voyager and that won’t get Starlink until well after my cruise. Mind you, that wasn’t the main reason I need to find a new cruise.
