  1. Could you copy the link? I only find useless maps.
  2. I posted this in the Northern Europe and Baltic Sea ports, but I thought that I should also cross post here, as more river cruise passengers are likely to fly to Frankfurt. I will be arriving in Frankfurt from Toronto at 6:20 am on Air Canada, presumably at Terminal 1, hall B. I will be meeting my sister arriving from Newark at 9:10 am on United, presumably at Terminal 1, hall A. Does anyone have any suggestions on where we should meet, and where I can hang around until she arrives? We will be heading to the Regionalbahnhof when she arrives. Thanks in advance for your help.

  4. My suggestion is that you do your research, and know what you would want to do if you had the opportunity. Know the hours, and the location in advance. Then, when you know the time that you will have available, you will know what to slot into that time, and won't be scrambling. The cruise director can also help with advice as to timing.
  5. Unfortunately, nowhere near me. It is in Surrey, British Columbia.
  6. While I had prepaid Avalon tips on my Irrawaddy cruise, everyone had been so helpful to me with a sore knee that I paid additional tips. I put them on a credit card.
  7. That sounds like it is done more for the convenience of the passengers. (Uniworld, take note.)
  8. I thought of that, but there is no section for Portuguese ports there, and, unlike France and Spain, Portugal doesn't touch the Med, so maybe it belongs here as the most western of Western Europe.
  9. Cruise lines generally do NOT allow surge protectors.
  10. The only train tickets that I bought in advance are from Metz to Colmar and Strasbourg to Frankfurt, both on TGVs. I have all the information on individual legs and the information that you provided me about regional tickets, so I know what to ask for to get the best fares on the regional trains. I depart for Frankfurt in 10 days. Do you have any information on the colour change on the Moselle?
  11. @NiceAuntTo get many of those deals you need to be on the companies' email lists. I suggest that you sign up for the email lists on any of the lines that interest you. You will then regularly get promotional deals sent to you.
  12. Quite low. The sky will be too light. According to this site, between late September and late March it is dark enough for possible viewing. https://www.visitnorway.com/things-to-do/nature-attractions/northern-lights/
