  1. You didn’t on that cruise, you usually do leaving Vancouver.
  2. Don’t do it! Horrible exchange rate.
  3. There has to be some gap filing though. Eg Regatta from when she’s in Sydney in December and then Japan in May.
  4. Could have sold Suite guarantees thinking they’ve have cancellations.
  5. Exotics open for booking on the 2nd https://www.oceaniacruises.com/tropics-and-exotics-cruises
  6. Definitely. Everything we did was outside in Hawaii. We were delayed in Seattle and there was someone hacking and coughing in close proximity. I’m hoping we both now have super antibodies 🤓
  7. Same in my house after a month in Hawaii. 100% certain it was the flight home. About the same amount of time to register a negative too.
  8. If they hadn’t reported it they would have not received a credit for all the quarantine time. You want them to walk away from $1,000’s?
  9. How did you get 26 hour days? There’s only a three hour time difference at the most and part of the year it’s only 2 hours.
  10. Which is far better than it’s been for years for the Pound. I was visiting when it was 2.25. Euro at 1.35 is excellent. It’s what it can buy that matters. Exactly right on Australia and NZ. Even Tahiti is cheaper by land right now.
  11. The strong US $ is definitely making cruising lose its sparkle for this Canadian. Euro or Pound is really good. Australian & NZ dollar are exceptional but for cruises it’s in US. US $ means we must add 38% to everything. Makes zero sense financially to cruise to the places we want to go.
  12. I think Jan posted about a month ago that it was the first week of November. found it.. Next release of itins is 11/2 and that will be thru 2025 25 around the World release is September 6 Jancruz1
  13. You may not like the message but it’s true. They elected to specifically add in Jeans into the Chic night dress code. There’s a message in that whether you want to hear it or not.
  14. I don’t know if it’s losing its sparkle. We haven’t cruised for a year or two before Covid. I do know though that we’re leaning far more to land trips unless it’s a super unique cruise itinerary. It could be a phase, and the older we get we’ll lean back towards cruises but we like the casualness and flexibility of land trips. I always thought we’d do Tahiti by ship, but that also turned into a land trip for next year.
  15. 10 years ago is a decade ago. Times change, dress codes change. You’re welcome to your opinion but it’s celebrity’s dress code and they’re trying to attract less of you and more designer Jean type with $$$$.
  16. Yes, proximity to the port definitely helps. If it wasn’t February we could have drove down.
  17. Cruiselines are struggling to stay in business. They can’t afford to piss anyone off. I would suggest you spend less time on your vacation being concerned about it.
  18. Free is definitely not free when you add in air, hotels, tips etc. just the Mexican riviera cruise was going to cost us $1,700 Cdn before even boarding.
  19. Different strokes. I’m happier in a pair of shorts watching the sunset with my French cheese plate than in a dining room on a ship. But it’s not for everyone.
  20. I said it puts a check mark in the land trip, not it was a deciding factor. We’re looking at an extended Australia/New Zealand trip. Cruises don’t make sense because everything is priced in US $ where a land trip would be in AU and NZ$ at a much better rate with the Canadian dollar. There are lots of deciding factors and $47 in tips a day is one of them.
  21. We had a condo with full kitchen and BBQ. We had some lunches out but not many dinners. Preferred our deck and selection of wine.
