  1. We were in Port Douglas. Love it. Been three times on a land trip. I’ve always read that PD or Cairns are the best spots for the Reef. But unless you have a ton of time in port, you’ll likely have to do a cruise excursion which take you out to the pontoon or a reef a bit closer in.
  2. Holy cow. Via Dubai? That’s insane. Glad you were able to get it changed.
  3. Oh my. That’s some experience. Last trip was November 2019 but didn’t hit the reef that trip. I think it was September 2018 when we went out with Wavelength. We’re usually there September - November time frame. I’ve never ever seen fish or coral like it. Was like being in an aquarium. Super calm that day too.
  4. I think the only bucket list item that disappointed was Mont St Michel. Beautiful from a distance, tourist hell inside.
  5. When did you go? We’ve been to Port Douglas three times on a land trip. Snorkelling the GBR from there goes down as one of my best days ever. We were on a smaller boat that went to 3 different stops.
  6. Agreed. I’ve cancelled all cruises and feel safer with the deposits in my bank account. We have a month in Hawaii coming up this year. Next year, we’ll either stick to land trips or last minute cruises.
  7. Agreed. As Canadians we went to Vegas in March. Just drive across the border and flew out of a US airport rather than Canadian. No tests either direction.
  8. My original post asking how they planned to get to Bellingham was not addressed to you.
  9. I don’t need to look at anything. I asked what the plan was for making a 12:45 flight out of Bellingham.
  10. That’s why I’m asking. Super tight time frames to depending on a train that only runs twice a day and crossing an international border which could take hours.
  11. How would you get to and from Bellingham to Vancouver?
  12. She hasn’t said in 2 years that’s why. Only just starting up again.
  13. The crew certainly do it. We’ve often brought back food to the ship. France = cheese 🤷🏻‍♀️
  14. That would be hugely disappointing. They were selfish. There are usually tours for the people that have mobility issues.
  15. Can’t wait for ATN to fly from Seattle 🎉
  16. Incorrect. It’s more like 10% now and that’s just Americans.
  17. Eek…that’s certainly going to change the way a lot of people book cruises.
  18. Thanks for all your work on this post and your blog. We are booked for 2024 and can’t wait.
  19. We have this cabin for a 35 Day South Pacific cruise. Looks great, love that deck.
  20. How do they work it on a long cruise? Say 35 days? Do they do periodic invoicing and a new hold? as holds drop off after about 7 days.
