  1. When I won casino play on DOND I didn’t have to take my DOND card in. The amount was automatically added to my sail & sign card so when I inserted it in a machine the money was there.
  2. If texting is important to you, you can use WhatsApp onboard with the social plan. Regular texts, as mentioned above, are charged by your cellular plan.
  3. I was on Panorama in January and the self-debark passengers started being called by muster station number at about 8:30 AM. After all the muster stations were called for self-debark, they had diamond, suites and platinum debark, then started calling the rest of the luggage tag numbers. I am diamond and was off the ship at 9:15. The self-debark people were long gone by then.
  4. One thing I missed in my cabin was a real night table. Those tiny little shelves were almost worthless. I don’t know about anyone else, but that big blue cube they had in place of a chair at the desk was WAY too heavy. I know it provides some extra storage space, but I would have greatly preferred a real chair or even a stool.
  5. When you go to Java Blue, the pay coffee place, the first time on your cruise, they’ll give you a coffee punch card. Buy 6 and get 1 free. It’s only for that cruise.
  6. I can’t either, but the entire Fun Squad had learned to do it. Every time Rico was on stage he reminded the whole crowd about the 5 r’s.
  7. Since your cruise director is Rico, you’ll have to roll your r’s. He was on the Panorama for the 2 weeks I sailed in January, and he said his name has 5 r’s, so Rrrrrico. I liked him. Lots of positive energy.
  8. You still have to show up at your selected appointment time (not boarding time). Diamond/Platinum/Suite passengers also have to adhere to their assigned times. Then when boarding is called, it’s done by boarding group number, with Suites first, then Diamond, then Platinum, then FTTF, and then general boarding. Some ports do things a little differently so if you tell us which port you’re sailing from, maybe someone can chime in with their experience at that port.
  9. On the wine package I won, the voucher said to go to Cherry on Top to get the wine. Not sure that’s the case on every ship. That was the Panorama.
  10. I won a wine package playing bingo on the Panorama recently. I actually won $150 + a wine package. I gave it away to someone because I don’t drink alcohol, but the voucher I got said it was worth 3 bottles for $77.00. That must be the non-premium package.
  11. Now it’s showing back on Carnival’s website but it looks like cabins are selling fast.
  12. Now Carnival has taken this cruise off their website again. I wonder what they’re doing with it now.
  13. I have now booked the 25 day in October 2024 as well.
  14. I had no problems with bugs in January, but I did buy bug spray onboard the ship and had it with me. I read that there is more likely to be a problem if it has recently rained and the area is wet. It’s a wonderful excursion and well worth the price.
  15. I have a hold on the 25 day also. When it first came out on Wednesday, it was arriving in Seattle. Then yesterday it was taken down, and this morning it’s back up, arriving in Long Beach instead of Seattle.
  16. I tried to price match to $111 also but they said EVERYTHING had to be exactly the same, and the $111 price was for a later show so they didn’t match because of the time being different.
  17. Thank you for taking the time to do this review. I was on the Panorama B2B for the 1/7 and 1/14 cruises, and my experience was very similar to yours. I too did the Rhythms of the Night excursion in Puerto Vallarta and was very impressed with it. It was kind of pricey at $159.99 but worth every penny of it.
  18. If you win one of the cash prizes, it goes as a credit on your onboard account. If you win a casino credit, it will show when you put your card into the machine to play in the casino. If you win a $25 bingo card, there will be a time and place announced for you to show up and get your bingo card or use the $25 to upgrade to a larger bingo package.
  19. It wouldn’t quality under the soda, since that has to be in cans. I don’t have any personal knowledge, but I would hope they will let you take it aboard as your bottle of wine. If you just have it in your carry-in and say nothing about it, they would probably assume it’s your allowed bottle of wine.
  20. That’s one of the reasons my sister held off, to give the people in the audience a chance to win. I later found out from the CD that once the contestant on stage takes their win, the game continues so the people in the audience still have their chance to win.
  21. When I was on the Panorama a couple of weeks ago, my sister came along, and it was her first Carnival cruise. She was just going to watch Deal or No Deal and “see what it’s like” before buying a card. I convinced her to buy, and lo and behold, her number was selected to go on stage. She only won $103, having turned down $200+, but it sure was fun for her, and for me watching her too!
  22. To me the $25 is worth the entertainment value. I have won a $25 bingo package more than half the time, and I have also won the $30 casino play and the $50 cash. I’ll continue to play, but I only buy one $25 card for each game.
  23. 1. Your cabin is unlikely to be changed by Carnival unless they switch ships on you. It does happen, but not often. If they changed to another ship, they would give you what they consider a comparable cabin. 2. Online check-in starts at 12:00:01 AM Eastern time. Since you’re in Colorado, be on-line and ready at 10:00 PM your time. Then skip the first several pages of check-in and go directly to the page where you can select your arrival time. Once you have done that, go back and fill in the earlier pages.
  24. Take a look at the deck plans and try to find a cabin located between the lifeboats. I was in cabin #5151 on the Pride last April and it had a peek-a-boo view between the lifeboats. There are others, so if you can get one of those, do it.
  25. Good thing he found it and is getting it to her tonight. She would almost certainly NOT have been able to board the ship tomorrow without it.
