  1. I’ll be on a B2B in January and I’ll ask my cabin steward if they’d like the champagne as well as the fruit. Never thought of that before.
  2. You can contact Carnival, but I can tell you from experience that they don’t allow this.
  3. Thank you so much for sharing your cruise with us, Megan! I’ll be on the Panorama for B2B January 7th through 21st, and I enjoyed getting a preview of what’s to come. Loved the review!
  4. I have been on many Carnival TA’s. Typically there are not many children onboard. On the recent Celebration TA there were only about 100 kids. However, with the Venezia sailing late in May, schools will be out in many areas and there will likely be a lot more kids. The ship is selling very well, with suites and OV’s already sold out, so I think it will be full or close to it. Nancy
  5. When I was on the Celebration TA the room steward introduced himself the first day and said he does rooms between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. I thought he was asking for my preferred time, so I told him I’m always out of the room by 8:00, thinking that would help him. He said he doesn’t target any specific time for any staterooms, just does them when he gets to them between his stated hours. Never heard that before. Usually the steward are glad to know they have some early birds he can get to first.
  6. I didn’t get a certificate when I became diamond, just a letter letting me know about the benefits including the steakhouse dinner for 2. Guest Services said if I want to use it on a future cruise, just take the letter to the steakhouse on the cruise I want to use it on, and everything should be fine. I hope that’s so. I plan to use it on the Panorama in January.
  7. I think you got lucky. It probably didn’t have anything to do with being platinum, but possibly it was because of covid. Even though covid wasn’t the issue in your case, Carnival seemed to be more lenient about waiving fees during that time.
  8. I also had to cancel once because of a serious medical condition. Everything lazydayz mentioned above is correct. One thing very important is that you need to notify the insurance company right away once you become aware that you can’t make the trip. My policy was with Allianz also. It was 10 years ago, but as I recall, I had 3 days to notify them to start the process. Then they walked me through what needed to be done.
  9. Fly2Fun only gives you quotes after you’re already booked. I don’t know whether you can search Fly2Fun when you have a cruise on hold but not yet fully booked, but you could try that.
  10. I think the potatoes that come with Shaq’s chicken are the best potatoes on the ship. The chicken is awesome too.
  11. I’m looking forward to your review. I’ll be on Panorama B2B in January, so this will be a preview of what’s to come. Having been to all the ports multiple times, this will be all about the ship for me.
  12. Hi to you too, Froufie. Another TA to look forward to! Nancy
  13. I like to leave my cabin, taking my carryon with me, and have one final breakfast in the MDR while waiting for luggage tag numbers to be called. It’s a nice way to end the cruise rather than battling the crowds in the Lido.
  14. I have also booked this cruise, right after arriving home from the Celebration TA. Looking forward to a springtime westbound cruise and to traveling with Julie (repogirl49) and Mary (maryann2). I will be staying in Barcelona 2 nights prior to the cruise. Nancy
  15. How about dinner at the Steakhouse with your dad, and have a toast to your mom? My condolences to you and your family.
  16. The member appreciation drink on your last day will be loaded to your card. FYI, on my most recent cruise (Celebration TA) I was to become Diamond but got a Platinum card in mailbox. A friend in my travel party was to become Gold but got a Red card. Guest Services took care of issuing the correct cards. If this happens to you, go directly to Guest Services before the huge line forms. I had no wait at Guest Services because I went right away.
  17. I was on the Celebration TA and had the value plan. It was very good. No instances of outages all across the Atlantic, and speeds were decent. Nothing to complain about. Probably the best ship wifi ever for me.
  18. Just got off the Celebration on Sunday and saw you had started a live review. I’ll be following along. You do the best reviews, St. Greg!
  19. I was on the Celebration TA that just arrived in Miami on Sunday. At the beginning of the cruise the Fun Squad told us there were 84 ships on sticks aboard the ship for the voyage. They were given as prizes at Family Feud and the Love & Marriage Game, and probably other “big” events. Medals were given at trivia.
  20. I always tip extra at the steakhouse. $5.00-$10.00 per person depending on level of service.
  21. I am currently on the Celebration TA, and I can confirm that the price is indeed $19.00. It hasn’t been open since sailed on Sunday because of rough seas and inclement weather. Hopefully that will improve once we head south and the Bolt will be open.
  22. Does anyone know what MSC would match for Carnival Diamond?
  23. I lost my avatar too, and had the account locked notices.
