  1. You will have one cruise elegant evening, but no lobster unless you wish to purchase it from the Steakhouse Selections portion of the menu.
  2. You should call your PVP, Carnival, or TA. This would likely be a cancel and rebook scenario, which means that you would likely lose some money here. As I don't know the terms of the rate code under which you booked, I can't give you any more detailed advice than that. Sorry.
  3. @CruizinSusan70, the 59.95 is the discounted rate. It is significantly higher when purchased on board. @cruisinmeme, here are the details for the package. They will add 18% to the cost of the package for gratuities and you will pay taxes on any drinks obtained in US waters (charged to the S&S card). @wemjam is spot-on using an average of $12 for mixed drinks and $8 for beer when calculating if it makes good economic sense to purchase. Don't forget to add any non-alcoholic drinks into the calculation.
  4. it is perfectly valid. We used it a few weeks ago for our Alaskan cruise. $15 pp and used the free government tests. They tested both DH and me at the same time and it took a total of 15 minutes with a pdf of the results coming just a few minutes afterward. Easy peasy.
  5. I haven't finished catching up on this thread, but just in case no one answered your question, we used On Point to proctor our testing using the free government tests. It was quick and easy. $15.
  6. No. You can "order to your room" some of the added-cost items. Hopefully, they will add app ordering.
  7. It's a little more difficult with a scooter. Because they are so heavy (usually) many busses do not want to take them on, which would require their drivers to lift them into the hold. Also, it may be possible that your excursions are on smaller busses or busses without a hold at all. Be prepared to have to make adjustments to continue on your pre-booked excursions or to be satisfied with changing your excursions.
  8. When you are in your room, look for the QR code to download the room service menu. It is different from what you see in the HUB app. You can call the night before, or (as I did) when they first opened. There are the same options as before (refer the door hanger above) and a few paid options. Don't forget that the entire room service menu is available from 6:00 am. I enjoyed a BLT for breakfast (don't judge me!).
  9. Ok, folks. As much as I often do not agree with @BlerkOne, he is right in this instance. They did not print the cards when you checked in, they were in boxes behind the check-in desk and they did take your photo at check-in. If you will recall, it sometimes took as much as 5-10 minutes for them to find your cards if you have an unusual name or if it was housed at the far end of the desk (think ADA check-in which is often at one end, and it seemed that our cards were at the other end). I'm not sure what the big deal is here, the cards have been at the rooms for a few years now. There have been very few instances of cards not being available and I have not heard of anyone complaining that their cards were stolen and used. The process is working well. Prior to retrieving your cards, you can use the barcode on your boarding pass to purchase whatever you need. Once your room is ready, just head that way and get your cards.
  10. Those work great with a foot/ankle injury, but her injury is to her knee. Probably not a good idea to be putting that kind of pressure on it 😉
  11. I'm not sure if Scootaround services Royal, but they always have scooters available for rental, even if you rent at the port. They will also be able to tell you which scooters will fit through the doorways. We always get a regular cabin on Carnival and can fit a "transportable" scooter through the door. You will not be able to leave the scooter in the hallway on any cruise line. It's not a cruise line rule, it's a SOLAS regulation. Hope you feel better soon!
  12. On Carnival, your OBC really just applies as a credit to your S&S account. It will be used to offset whatever charges are made to that account, including gratuities.
  13. To be clear, you are not "making a reservation" in the HUB app. You are checking in, the same as you would be if you walked up to the hostess in a land-based restaurant and they take your name. Making a reservation implies that you are reserving a table for a specific time. With the HUB app, you simply check in when you are ready to go and you will be notified when your table is ready. At that point, you have 10 minutes to show up.
  14. I'm really not sure what the big deal is. If they test you, they test you. If they don't, they don't. It's not like they charge for it. Additionally, although it has not yet been updated (I don't think), they will test you if you didn't require it for your first cruise, but your second goes to a location where it is required.
  15. I was on the Splendor last week and, like @momof3cruisers, I prefer the bottled iced tea. I didn't find any at all at the coffee shop (my usual stop for this). I didn't check any of the bars, but I didn't find any iced tea at all (bottled or canned, @crystalspin 🙂).
  16. Thanks! That is exactly what I meant (not what I said 🙂)
  17. Not sure why you thought my post was directed at you??? 😏
  18. The offers happen. We were just on the Splendor and about 2 weeks prior to sailing I got a phone call from the upgrade fairy and we went from a Spa Interior to Spa Suite for $500. I know that sounds like a lot of money, but I got the interior dirt cheap and we were still all in well under the cost of the suite.
  19. None of this really effects me at all. I do have to say, though, that I missed the door hangers on our last cruise (Alaska) with the early morning excursions. Just a minor inconvenience.
  20. There is a kiosk just before you enter the port at Miami where you will pick up your scooter. That (IMHO) is so much better than having it waiting in your room, because you get to ride it all throughout the embarkation process rather than relying on wheelchair assistance.
  21. They actually sell these empty. You don't take a used sunscreen bottle and wash it out. Yuck.
  22. I think you made the right choice. Suites are nice, but to be honest, her safety is more important. We found the tub to be difficult, DH because of some slight mobility issues and me because I'm only 5' tall.
  23. We just had a suite on the Splendor. The sides of the tub are VERY high. The best I could recommend would be to find a transfer shower seat. This is a shower seat that will allow her to sit down and then slide over; however, she will still need to lift her legs over the side of the tub. Something like this
