And no one thinks its strange that out of thousands of CC members here not one single person that was cancelled on March 12th has received a refund in the first 30 days?

    Refundable Deposit July 2019

    cruise date oct 2020

    cancelled by me March 1/20

    amex dispute March 25/20

so all of this is over a refundable deposit only , and not the total cruise cost ?

or did I miss that you had paid the final

musta been one helluva cruise and deposit … good for you for being proactive, I guess ...

So, ever since Carnival cancelled all of its Alaska cruises through June 30, I have been waiting for Princess to mirror the announcement.  Since Carnival owns Princess, why wouldn't Princess be canceling too?

Princess still says on their website that they are still evaluating all aspects of the required decision-making.

What on earth is holding them up?

cash refunds for cancelled cruises - multiple threads ...

Princess does not require everyone over 21 in the cabin buy the drink package.

kinda sorta right / wrong /maybe

if you flat out buy the drink package ( why would anyone do that if they can get Princess Plus ) - correct

but if you do book under Princess Plus - and I going to ASSuME 2 adults - both will get the cost added/included in the fare

    not going to get into

    a) only getting best2dg - no wifi

    b) 3-4 'kids' in same cabin

I self-upgraded a couple of weeks ago by emailing my crack Princess PVP from a high up inside (IB) to an obstructed deluxe balcony on Discovery for 12/21  … little 4 day cruise to Grand Turk and back … only cost up $10 pp total for the 4 days 🤑

and if we tried to do the same self-upgrade to a little 5 day cruise this fall on the SKY, it would be $330 pp total … gonna wait on that one for now ...

What you bought was never received so call credit card company. Agent can walk you through dispute process easy with Amex. I just did it

dog, just a few dates ...

when did you book your cruise ( deposit date )

when was final payment due ( amex charge )

    when was cruise date

when did you actually cancel, or did Princess cancel your cruise

this may help other posters in your same situation make an informed decision to dispute a charge

Well filed my dispute with my credit card companies for my money. Seems I will get my monies faster than the cruise company is offering. That’s real sad that I had to go this route for the refund.  This also forces the company to respond in a timely manner or the charges automatically get reversed, according to the credit card companies.

did you cancel your cruise, or did Princess cancel your cruise ?

you're not expecting "ANY" FCC at this point after you did that, correct ?

Finally thank you to the posters on here, some irrelevant, some way off topic, but many providing useful info from afar when we were sometimes in an information vacuum. Also those wishing us well, which is much appreciated.

I asked to transfer what I had paid from a cancelled cruise to a new booking and was told they were not doing transfers at this time.  I paid a new deposit and now wait for credit on the original cruise.

I have requested this from my travel agent on a Cunard cruise. So have not heard if she could do it. If they wont transfer I will cancel and not rebook. I would think they would want to keep my money

agreed - I would have a very hard time sending Princess, or any other cruise line, a new deposit while waiting for a previous cancelled deposit to be refunded … NOPE, I can't go for that , no can do

    Thank you! I so agree

I am on board also but don't care to hear about stats and how to take your groceries and Amazon purchases in the house and all the speculation of what is going to happen to us

And what different news medias have said, most of those are out of date or incorrect

I go to this board for information about our situation on the coral.

But a huge thank you to everyone who is so kind and concerned and are praying for us. It is much appreciated

so what is your exact status on Sunday at 10:20 am ?

There's no hysteria on this page -- only realism.

will social interaction every really be the same ? schools remaining on virtual classrooms long after this has passed, schools just being used as testing centers ? social interaction and isolation is a problem … j/s

  13. at least for now … we've got a beach house rental in North Carolina for a week in July to look forward to

and a little cruise at the end of November, if that happens

but, we're safe, still somewhat employed, and have plenty of provisions and adult beverages on hand … so we got

    that going for us ...

UNBELIEVABLE - I had an Alaska cruise booked for May 2020, which I canceled early last month.  I just looked at it to see how many balcony cabins were available now since a lot of you have canceled too.  There were only about 10% of the balcony cabins booked, but the price has gone UP since the last time I checked.  Other cruise lines (like RCL, CEL and even Carnival) have canceled their Alaska cruises until July, but not Princess - they are even raising their prices on cruises that they know they will cancel.

yep - amazing - today, you can book the Coral - 7 day RT out of Vancover, inside passage including Glacier Bay - Premium Suite for 2 at about $7k

    any takers ?
