  1. Is the clean your cabin once a day policy in force on all ships, or is it still in the trying it out stage on certain ships? Just wondering.
  2. My husband and I both did the muster drill information on the app and went to the muster station. On the app, it checked off the muster drill after we went through muster drill information on the app. They did not look at the app to see if we had both done it, though. We did not have cards yet and they scanned the paper with the bar code that we were given when checking in. The scanned both of them. It was too soon to go to our cabin to get our cards.
  3. We have early dining on the Harmony next April and the early dining time is 5:30.
  4. My husband used to rent a tux and it would be delivered to our cabin with 2 shirts. He bought a new suit and started taking it. He always looked good in the tux, and I mentioned this, and he said he would wear one again for me. If you cannot get it on the ship, I don't think it would be worth the hassle, though. There are always men on board who wear a tux on formal nights, but not like it once was.
  5. If they are jackhammering the pool in the Solarium, are they taking it out to make the Allure like the newer Oasis class ships? What a shame if that is the case. Royal Carribean lost money during shutdown and when it was sailing with small numbers of passengers instead of a full ship. They probably won't put ships in drydock unless they have to.
  6. I looked at a video of the ship on youtube. I doubt I will try the water slides and other features that are for young people, but the ship looks incredible. I will never see all those different cabins when on the ship, so it was fun to see them on the video. I know I will go on the ship once just to see it, but i suspect it will be really expensive in the beginning. I thought it was an Oasis class ship, but it is a new class, the Icon class.
  7. We were on the Allure in July and we had to book on board. You could do this on the app, or get in line where they were doing it in the promenade. We went to the Diamond Lounge after dinner and the Concierge helped us book the entertainment. We will be on the Harmony on April 15, 2023 and it shows under the Entertainment tab that if your ship allows booking entertainment before boarding, to come back closer to the sail date to do it. It showed Harmony as one of the ships, so I will check this closer to April.
  8. Pre-pandemic we were packed and set to leave on a cruise when the day before we were to leave, my husband came down wth the flu. My daughter's family had the flu and were passing it around, and we took the 6 month old baby 4 days before, all of us hoping he would not get it. He got sick and my daughter took him home. The doctor the next day told her the baby had the flu, and to have her Dad, who was coughing, go to the doctor and see if he had the flu. This was the day before we were to leave. He went to an ugent care and they tested him and told him he had the flu and should not go on the cruise. I called that night and I canceled the cruise. We had the ship's insurance and they gave us the number to call them. I called them and they e-mailed me the forms. We filled them out and about 3 weeks later, we got our money back except for the insurance.
  9. On the Allure last July, there was a huge line of people to get entertainment scheduled in the Promenade. It reminded me of when we started cruising in 1999 and had to schedule all excursions after we boarded. We all waited in a long line then. I will do this on the app, but I wish we could do it on the web site. I don't see why vaccinated people can't since we don't have to prove we tested negative for Covid. It would be one less thing to do after boarding, and wifi is available at home.
  10. I was on the Allure the last week of July and we had the traditional cup that I have had many times before.
  11. I got this, too, and when I got the terminal at 11:55 for my 12:00 appointment, I found the terminal absulutely crowded with people and I doubt they all had 12:00 appointments. We went through 3 stops and nobody asked for my passport or set sail pass. They wanted the positive Covid test report that we printed and each scrutinized it. The final lady did look at our vaccination record, too. She then directed us to the sign that said "To Ship" which was the best news we could get. All the "don't be early, don't be late" instructions were ignored by most people, I think. I was on the Allure for the July 23 - 31 cruise and enjoyed the Allure very much.
  12. My brother likes to have an early flght. He booked a 9:30 a.m. flight which could have worked if the ship had been cleared on time. He did not get off until 8:30 and got a cab, explained when his flight was, and the taxi driver did his best to get him there as soon as possible. He checked his luggage, had TSA Pre for security and made the flight, but he said it was close. You never know if something will slow you down.
  13. We are on the Allure with a 12:00 check-in time. We have a downtown hotel. If we leave at 11:00 and get there too early, do they make us wait for 12:00, or do we just go ahead?
  14. When I was doing the check-in, one of the things was the check-in time. I took the first time available, whch was 12:00 to 12:30. They had said on the site that I would be e-mailed when check-in was available, but I was not e-mailed and just stumbled on it after logging in.
