  1. Mine are listed on a spreadsheet, but in the closet. Pre-planner with OCD and an SO who uses the couch for his extra bed pillow and his clothes.
  2. Because we were sitting in our living room one evening when the water suddenly started running. No pets in the house, not even a fan running to create any kind of motion, just running water.
  3. Freeze a small cup of water, then put a quarter on top of the ice and put back in freezer. If the quarter is submerged (anywhere but on top of the ice) when you return, you will know the food in your freezer was thawed and refrozen while you were gone. Disconnect battery pack to disable motion sensor on kitchen faucet.
  4. Yes, it does illuminate the floor on that side of the closet. It just didn’t help me see what I was looking for on the lower shelves. I believe at least some of the WCers are bringing bins that fit into those cubbyholes so they can just pull out the entire bin. I use opened packing cubes that aren’t as easy to use.
  5. Thank you! I had 6% battery left on my iPad when you posted that and was able to book our first choice of all five shows on the January 21 Wonder, right before the battery completely died. I had checked at 7 a.m. and it still wasn’t open then.
  6. Yes, it does, thank you! I just tried it and it works. Covers the complete distance and slides very quietly. I will try the iPhone flashlight on the desk to reflect in all the mirrors, with my clothing on the chair the night before, and at least have some room to move around. You guys are so helpful!
  7. Very good! I am unable to use my hair dryer in a center hump balcony on 7 because it trips the breaker. The cabin next door has the same problem. The electrician “flipped a switch” and it worked for another two minutes or so. When the electrician came back the second time, I asked if there was a permanent fix. The permanent fix is to use the cruise line’s hairdryer 😳. That doesn’t really work for me for the next two days, and I sincerely hope there are men traveling solo in those cabins for the WC.
  8. That would work in the closet, but I would have to be careful not to look at my sleeping SO with it on 😂
  9. I have no room on the shelves to set it down and I need both hands to find my clothing and put it on, but that idea may at least help me tomorrow morning. Thanks.
  10. I am currently on the four-night Serenade and would like to share a hint. It would be a good idea to have some type of tap light for the closet (balcony cabin). We find it impossible to find what we are looking for without turning on the overhead lights, with only four days of clothing in the closet. That would not have pleased my SO this morning when I was up and getting ready for the day two hours before him. The bathroom light does not help because it is impossible to open the bathroom and closet doors at the same time. .
  11. I was disappointed by Country Roads the first/only time I saw it. Is it basically a bunch of guys traveling from one place to another singing unrecognizable and bad country songs? The best part of the show for me was listening to the country music that played before the show started.
  12. I have received $2,360 total on my card over the years, but no new Royal Caribbean offers since October 2021. I have used Celebrity lately and have one for Princess, probably because I haven’t used too many of those in the past. But Royal seems to have excluded me.
  13. We have not walked the promenade deck yet because we were so wiped out from the drive that included 28 extra minutes of wrong turns in the middle of Miami. This is the last Miami embarkation on our cruise list and we intend to keep it that way. We are at Coco Cay today, then two sea days, so we will be on that deck soon for sure. The weed smell was not mixed with anything else. Both of us lost spouses due to lung cancer from smoking, so we definitely are sensitive to cigarette smoke. If I had to choose between the two, I think I would rather smell weed.
  14. We can see a very small portion of a public deck below us from our center hump balcony because of the structure of the ship, and that is exactly where someone chose to stand to smoke. Impossible to tell where the other balcony is located, and would take too much negative energy to pursue it in any case. Best for us to just ignore it while continuing to enjoy the balcony.
  15. We boarded the Serenade today and smelled weed as soon as we opened the balcony door. It stopped within a minute, possibly because they heard our door open. Got back to the cabin at 9 p.m. and could smell it from two different directions. This is the first Royal cruise we have noticed it.
  16. I think they will be too busy exploring the world to even notice kinks!
  17. @island lady, we are on the ship for the four-night cruise before the WC and you are absolutely right to bring a mattress topper. The bed does seem to be higher and the mattress more like those we have at home. It seems to have a bit of bounce to it. But it is definitely firm.
  18. Yes, you are right about that! My late SO was 6’3”, 240 pounds, and nobody messed with him. We were on the first sailing of Empress of the Seas return to the fleet, the one where the ship still had major issues and was not ready to sail but went anyway. At debarkation, seemingly half of the passengers were sent to Guest Services because their credit cards did not work. There were at least 200 people milling around when we got there, complete chaos. My SO saw GS employees appear at the front but return to the back rather than help at the counter. He called them out on it, loudly, over the heads of most of those 200 people. Someone immediately made her way through the crowd to help him (or shut him up before there was a riot). She solved his problem by charging his expenses to my credit card 🙄. And then we were told we could leave. We basically were kicked off the ship. To his credit, before we left he shouted loudly, “That is fine for us, but what about the rest of these people?”
  19. After the MSC cruise with the rude butler, we were outside the terminal waiting for the off-site parking shuttle. There was a very pleasant and capable employee there, checking in people as they walked up and having them get in a line. The line had almost enough people to fill the shuttle when a group arrived and walked up to the front. One of the men stated, “We are five.” Their name was checked off the list, but they stayed at the front instead of getting into the line. The employee finally told them, “You can wait there, the shuttle will be pulling up right here”. They were all smiles until the shuttle arrived. The hood of the shuttle was in front of them and the door was in front of the beginning if the line. We heard a gasp as the line of people started getting into the shuttle. They were the last five to get on and had to search for scattered seats. The employee knew exactly how to handle people who thought they were special.
  20. It is not only the guests who are rude. I was physically shoved to the side by an MSC butler charging ahead to clear a path for his group of Yacht Club guests heading to an elevator.
  21. It might be a good idea to estimate what you are going to spend the last night and go to Guest Services earlier on the last day to avoid the long line. If you spend more than expected, that small amount will be placed on your credit card. Just don’t overpay and be required to cash it out before you can get off the ship.
  22. I just paid $88 for off-site parking for six nights in Port Canaveral. And after four paid visits, the fifth one is free. So Miami, in comparison, seems crazy to us.
