  1. What about an over night stay? Would you get the free bottle on the second night? I understand offer….but what if you don’t arrive early enough for dinner on embarkation day?
  2. Scooters need to be parked inside cabin.
  3. I have stayed in an inside (across) on a different Grand Class ship. Love the location. 8 steps up to aft” patio” and a flight up to lido. Quiet and smooth. A little more confusing getting to Piazza if using aft elevators.
  4. A742/743 are at the end of the passage way aft...balcony. This is a REALLY old thread.
  5. Not all ships are posting buffet menus (Diamond March and Emerald May did not). That would be really helpful since I only go up there for lemonade and peanut butter cookies.
  6. https://abc7news.com/ruby-princess-cruise-sf-pier-crash-san-francisco-collision-27/13468448/
  7. Could you identify what kind of whales they were? Gray whales don't breach much. Which direction were they heading? I would be on the wrong side of the ship....always happens. Sounds like a wonderful cruise. Fireworks and whales. Can't get much better than that!
  8. I'm not sure they can "fix" this since there are crew quarters up in that section.
  9. The Grand midship staircase to nowhere is still there. Only available staircases for all decks are forward or aft. The stairs go from Deck 4 to Deck 7. So envious of you to have her to yourself for 32 days.
  10. These are nice cabins, except: Too far forward Too high up Too far away from concierge lounge Too expensive (compared to Window Suite) It is a nice cabin, just not in the right location. You could always book yourself a suite and the boys in a mini...then ask to be placed on a waitlist. Be proactive and keep checking. Waitlist is not guaranteed. If you find an open cabin...call your TA immediately (or place on hold until...). Disclaimer: I am not a Royal Class fan favorite.
  11. Many on Roll Calls also check on this forum. Many on this forum, don't check Roll Calls after the cruise.
  12. Crown, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, and Grand have walk around Promenades. If no Skywalker, they have One5 which is not as great, but good. Coral is in a class of her own. She has a front facing buffet.
  13. The suite will come with a fully stocked complimentary mini-bar that you can change out (lots of threads on this one). For future cruising...only on Caribbean and Grand Princess ships Deck 6.
  14. That excludes A LOT of Princess ships. I would add: Ships that have Glacier Bay Ships that do a round tip or back to back from Vancouver Ships that do the INSIDE passage verses Outside. Ships that do Skagway instead of Icy Points Most any Grand Class ships
  15. I should have clicked on your link. So I stand corrected. HAL Vista AND Signature suites are similar to Princess Mini-Suites. I'll take "my" Window Suite" on a Grand Class ship any day. Love the location and the suite perks. Both lines (and CCL corp) needs to fix this! I do hope the OP received his/her answers to the differences and books accordingly. Most important: Suite passengers can join non-suite passengers in their selected venues, but non-suite passengers are not able to partake in suite venues (except for "maybe" the Suite/Elite/Platinum cocktail hour), not to be confused with the Concierge Lounge on the Royal Class ships. Wow...I can see why new cruises can be mislead or confused.
  16. Most Window Suites are sold out within the first month of their release. Often F301 remains available since it is slightly smaller than the other Window Suites. Very unique cabins. Have you considered a family suite for your family? It is located in the front of the ship. I has a mini-suite, interior, and living room. https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/ships/products/staterooms/family-suite.html
  17. I have not been in/on a HAL Vista Suite. What suite perks does it have/not have? I thought they were just larger "Veranda/Balcony" cabins (similar to Princess mini-suites). I could be wrong. Do they have the "enhanced" suite bathroom? Do they have a separate dining area? What perks come with a HAL Vista Suite? I was told that if I wanted suite perks on HAL, I would need to go up to a Signature or Neptune Suite. I know very little about HAL (except what is shared by my sister who only cruises in HAL suites).
  18. I do not cruise on HAL. I just know that my sister books HAL suites so was comparing Princess to HAL. HAL is more expensive. HAL vista suites are basically the same as Princess' Mini Suites...but much more expensive. Neither are suites. Neither have any suite benefits. Just extended/larger balcony cabins. On the other hand, the Caribbean Princess and the Grand Princess have window suites. Full suites without a balcony for the price of a Reserve Class mini. If you can live without a balcony, these are great cabins.
  19. Depending on the class of ship (royal verses grand).
  20. I was comparing HAL Vista Suite to a Princess Mini-suite.
  21. If you book a full suite, and your sons remain in a regular mini (“bigger” stateroom), then they would not be able to join you in the Reserve MDR. They would also not be able to join you for suite breakfasts held in a different restaurant….even if booked in a Reserve Class Mini Suite. This is no different than Holland America. I believe (not positive), that they also have a misleading category. I think it is the Vista “suite” that is not a suite at all. No suite perks.
  22. Hope you used EZ Air or have good insurance. Good Luck.
  23. Mini-suites are large balcony staterooms Reserve mini-suites are larger balcony staterooms with entry into Reserve class dining room (same MDR as suites)…but that’s pretty much it. A few more “perks” like priority boarding, split of wine, etc. Does not include suite perks. Full suites come with all the perks Yes, Princess should never have had used this category name (mini suite). “Bigger” stateroom would have been a better name.
  24. Why couldn't you book now...and cancel if there is something better in October. I don't trust Princess. 3 months is a "long" way off and they could raise base fares, change promotions, charge more crew appreciation (Celebrity just did), or any other sundry of expenses.
  25. @HaveDogWillTravel Your lollipops have plastic wraps. Lucky you. I'm a one and done person. All I want is a hot fudge sundae (not available on any ship).
