  1. My last medallion arrived without an email notice nor tracking capabilities. I just checked my app. It says you can order up to 12 days ahead. So I am guessing that means they don't mail them out until 12 days prior. This is the last of my "free" medallion shipping. Next ones will be pick up at the port. Not that it makes a whole lot of difference. I "thought" you were suppose to be able to scan and go. Hasn't been my experience. Still had to see an agent.
  2. I do believe in EZ Air, even when my last fiasco was very dramatizing. Thank you for the reassurance that I am doing the right thing by booking with EZ Air. What a nail biter.
  3. @Thrak There was a box of envelopes on every cruise I've been on since the restart. Latest was Emerald in May. { picked up enough envelopes for three people. If they are not in full display, just ask, they will have them behind the counter. I prefer to hand out envelopes since I can either enclose a short note or write directly on the envelope. The teacher in me always tries to let one know what I thought was a positive experience.
  4. The stock market moved from fractions to decimals a long, long, long time ago. https://www.sec.gov/rules/concept/34-44568.htm 16 ÷ 60 = 26.666 (repeating decimal). 17 ÷ 60 = 28.333 (repeating decimal). 18 ÷ 60 = 30.0 Rounding up to 27%, 28%, 30% In order for something to be in the majority (most), it would have to be over 50% or higher than the other components. In this case, I think the drink "estimate" would make up "most". When I look at my onboard services breakdown of the Plus Package, it gives very inflated prices for the drink portion.
  5. I have seen Crown Grill and Sabatini servers in the Buffet or sometimes in the Piazza. "I've heard" that they are hand picket (best of the best).
  6. @Buzyma Welcome to Cruise Critic.
  7. Automatic crew appreciation charges for 3rd and 4th passengers will show up on you folio each night. I don't know why you could not call Princess or have your TA Prepay gratuities for the extra 2 persons.
  8. Most interesting. Glad they are trying to rectify an error (adding 2 free dinners with Premier without capacity control). Some may find this more appealing to have such a heavy meal mid-day. Hmmmmm. Wonder if it will be fleet wide.
  9. Summer is a rough time to be in Japan. If you still have time to go to the Dollar Store, they have disposable rain coats AND "shower cap" like plastic to cover your shoes. They were extremely helpful when visiting the muddy gardens. Unfortunately, they did not make it through 2 hours of walking on gravel and rocks. Again...be sure to take your own trash bag and face towel from the ship. Make that two towels. One for wiping your hands and the other one for wetting you down.
  10. The card time was always prompt. The couple of times I used the phone, it was delivered within 15-20 minutes. I know that there is at least one room service area on passenger decks. Anything “hot” (oatmeal, eggs, etc) needs to come from the MDR kitchen. I once tried to order oatmeal before an early excursion a very, very, very long time ago. Never got it (and I was in a suite).
  11. @ldtr , Yes, that was my understanding too. They “needed” access to loyalty information to be more helpful.
  12. San Pedro has always made you empty your liquids out of open containers. Doing a back to back, they wouldn't allow coffee from the ship or opened water bottles. New to me about foods. But then again, NCL "stole" my pork chop plate lunch in Kona. Princess has always allowed me to bring back local favorites for the ship's crew when doing an island run.
  13. Thanks for confirming what I "thought" I heard in May. @HaveDogWillTravel Thanks for going the extra mile. I will soon find out for myself. It is what it is...with or without a concierge. Would be nice, since I won't be on a Royal/Sun Class ship in the future.
  14. OP here. I started this thread to find an answer to Grand Class ship concierge host. I understood Princess' decision to revamp the Loyalty and Events Officer's duties. I am trying to get clarity on Isadora's comment about Grand Class ships getting the same level of service that the Royal Class suite passengers have without the lounge. Would someone who is in a Suite on a Grand Class ship address this new perk?
  15. Someday, "WE" will be on a cruise together. Thanks for the live.
  16. Thanks for the information about Future Cruise Department, I know about them. And I received information about Loyalty officer. He/she is now back of house. More interested in hearing about concierge service on Grand Class ships.
  17. Love the Pan Pacific. You deserve to be there. Eat your way through Gas Town.
  18. Yes, your room steward will. provide you with a card to order. Be very specific, including sugar, cream, number of fruit, jam, etc. Very basic menu: coffee, juices cereal fruit breakfast egg sandwich assorted pastries
  19. Thanks for taking. us along. I always love following cruisers to Hawaii. Let me know if there is anything you want to know. I'm sure you are a seasoned visitors. The Halema`uma`u Crater eruption recently ended. The Skyline "rail" in Honolulu is finally up and running. Cost is the same as a bus fare (I think). News channels are reporting that it has beautiful views of Pearl Harbor. It only cost BILLIONs for 11 miles and still not finished. Takes about 20 minutes to go from Halawa Stadium to Kapolei. I always wondered why Princess didn't sail to Hawaii in the summer. Glad they are doing it this year. Malama Pono
  20. @larrybritt Thanks to Goggle...I see that your flight left MYR and arrived at EWR. Then left Newark for YVR, arriving at 6:27 PM. I sure hope you were on these planes. Tonight, enjoy a good dinner and then call it an early night. (Hopefully) You are in Vancouver and breathe a sigh of relief. Use Google to search Free Walking Tours of Vancouver. I have done several and they are wonderful. Bon Voyage. Let us know how EZ Air worked for you.
  21. I believe the Grand Princess had a tiny tea room off of the Crown Grill. It was dark. It had boxes of loose tea. And tables. But I never saw anyone having tea there. Not even staffed. I remember seeing an upcharge menu, but did not pay much attention to the sign.
  22. Senior moment. Loyalty and Events Officer told me in May that her job was changing. I think I heard June 15? But it could have been July 1? She would be in charge of events on the ship while the Loyalty part would move over to the Future Cruise "team". Events: Meet and Greet, weddings, and other functions that would require coordination of venues, officers, crew, etc. Loyalty: Captain Circle Party, Most Traveled Luncheon, and anything that has to do with your loyalty level. Here's the gray area: She mentioned something about suites on the Grand Class ships. There will NOT be any lounge, but there will be a concierge to assist suite guests. Has anyone been on a Grand Class ship with these new assignments? What is being offered? What has changed?
  23. I had my own "private/family" guide while in Yokohama. Great to have family. All I know is that there is a train station in the Queens Plaza. It took us to the other transfer station near the Sheraton Yokohama. Which one provided a train to Tokyo? My guess. both. It is. a toss up as to staying in Yokohama and going to Tokyo verse staying in Tokyo and trying to get to Yokohama with luggage on the train, There are some restrictions to luggage on a train. Do check it out. Personally, I would set up shop in Yokohama. Bus transfer to Yokohama hotel. Leisurely evening. All day trip to Tokyo. Return to Yokohama for the night. Refreshed for start of cruise. Hotel was quite reasonable in Yokohama (Tokyo may be more expensive). Then again, I had a friend spend a month in Japan. Used luggage transfer from city to city. Good luck. Have an enjoyable time. I wish I had schedule way more time in Japan pre/post cruise since it is so far away.
