  1. Since the pandemic, ships across the fleet have been Dine My Way (no traditional dining). Occasionally, you are able to set the same time/same table/same wait staff, but it does take some doing. My observation of Reserve Dining on the Diamond was that most diners preferred a later time. It was empty from when it opened at 5 to about 6:30.
  2. CB has two voyages in 2024 to Norway, Iceland, AND Greenland. July 21 and I think again in August.
  3. There is a ticket counter way down by Starbucks. Self kiosk or attendant. You may use a foreign credit card or cash. Very reasonable. Need a ticket from counter. Some of this information is now out of date, but the core is still valid. Hope it answers some of your questions.
  4. I had very lengthy email exchanges with the limousine bus company. Pre-Book: Guaranteed you a seat on the bus you reserved. IF, you are held up in immigration/customs and the bus leaves, there is no refund AND can not apply it to the next bus. Buy upon arrival: Not guaranteed a seat. Bus "could" be full. First come, first served. Everywhere in Japan, it was pretty much allowing 2 pieces of luggage (bus/taxi/etc) and a small carry on that would fit inside the vehicle. They were not happy that I also had my CPAP machine. Bus runs "frequently" every 15 - 30 minutes up until 8 PM. Designated locations, not drop offs here and there. Pretty comfortable and free wifi.
  5. Back in March (with only 80% occupancy), they only had 3 (out of 5) MDRs open: *Deck 6 dining rooms (Santa Fe and Pacific Moon / midship. Club Class was in Santa Fe (Deck 6 midship/starboard). *Lunch for everyone else (and breakfast) was aft at International Dining Room / Deck 6
  6. You will love the Intercontinental Grand Yokohama. It is part of the Holiday Inn/Crown Plaza brand...in case you have a membership (discount). I had a lovely harbor view and could actually see both cruise ports. Sort of (long) walking distance to near Yamashita Park port or free shuttle to the ship at Daikoku Pier from same park. https://www.ihg.com/hotels/us/en/reservation Food can be found right next door at the Queen Plaza Shopping Center (huge). Near train station. From Haneda, there is a (for fee) direct bus from the airport to the hotel.
  7. Again, kind of hind sight. Princess did not expect the flack they received (17 pages) regarding the "new" OBC policies. Appease the veterans....on "select cruises" and NEW bookings only.
  8. This is what I did. We were "suppose" to arrive early evening from LAX to Narita. Delayed. Arrived around 6:30 PM. By the time we made it through immigrations it was close to 8 PM. With luggage in tow, we headed for the bus transfer to Yokohama. Of course, by now, we missed the "frequent" bus service and had to wait for the next one...closer to 9 PM. Got off the bus, walked to the other end of the bus terminal to get a taxi. It was close to 11 PM by the time we got into the room. Fortunately, we had one FULL day in Yokohama. Stayed at the Intercontinental Grand Hotel (Sheraton Yokohama would also have been a good choice). Our ship was at the far port and had to take a long taxi ride out there. It's probably is too late to make changes, but I would definitely do this again with 2 FULL days in Yokohama. I may have been lucky with hotel accommodations since it was just the start of cruising again. I would even do the bus again. As @Ken the cruiser mentioned, if you are just looking for a hotel for the night...do one near the airport.
  9. @flhokie and @JGmf Just in case you do another Princess cruise in a suite. You can always change (break a $20 or any denomination) at the Customer Service Desk. They used to have a designated line for suites and elites. I noticed on my last Emerald cruise that it was hap hazard. Also, suite breakfast is more than what is on the menu. You may request most items off menu...if they can get it on the ship. I have had a crab avocado omelette with Pico deGallo. Specialty coffees are complimentary. Something you want in a different dining room? Just ask. I've requested cowboy (minute) steak. There are lots of signage in the elevator lobbies. Each wall has a ship map. In the middle will have 2 signs. They point to port or starboard. I still am not able to discern movement of the ship to figure out bow and aft. This is why I won't cruise on a different line...I know my way around Princess ships. All of the Grand class ships are basically the same. A few ships have different colored carpets. Wish they would make that standard.
  10. I have a vested interest...would this suspension also include Hawaii/East or West Coast (Quebec), FLL? Or just for Alaska like last year?
  11. It was not an option for my friend either. But we arrived around noon and boarding was already underway. I agree. Priority boarding should be extended to wheelchair passengers.
  12. A nice gesture is something called "omiyage". https://www.hawaiianairlines.com/hawaii-stories/culture/omiyage Oops...temiyage is the proper terminology.
  13. @larrybritt Here's another article to help with your flight (I hope). https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/airline-news/2023/06/27/united-airlines-cancellations-newark-ceo-faa-blame/70361319007/
  14. Thank you for your succinct posts. I came off the Emerald in May. I, too, experienced the same "assisted boarding" you went through. That actually has little to do with Princess. The port people are responsible for getting you from the ground level up to the waiting area post security. Then Princess takes over. Our wait for a wheelchair on street level would have taken us an hour (for 5 people in front of us...long story). We made it up to check in and the agent "found" us a wheelchair attendant that took us through security. But it would have been another hour to get us on board. We took it really slowly and just walked it. There really isn't a good reason why they could not have allowed you to wait in the suite/elite lounge. Did you get there before 11 ? Or had boarding already started? Glad the rest of the cruise went well.
  15. I was looking online last night. Everything was good then. I was able to see pricing for Iceland/Greenland cruise in July 2024. Princess has some quirky web issues. I don't have a clue what this one is.
  16. I do not want to add more anxiety to your cruise than you already have, but...this is not good news. Please come back to your thread @larrybritt to let us know what is happening.
  17. I wish this were the case. I did all the web documents and received my QR codes. Still had to stand in immigration line for almost 90 minutes upon arrival into Narita. They require you to have your fingerprints taken. There is a separate line for wheel chairs and flight crew. Japanese nationals also were separated out. Be prepared for many more immigration lines, especially after visiting Korea. Princess will provide instructions. Lines to leave. Lines to return. Tip….take a washcloth with you off the ship. No paper towels. And it’s going to be hot and maybe humid. No trash cans either.
  18. Best to ask your stock broker. I have been able to transfer shares of (generic) stock as long as we shared the same brokerage company (each having your own account). It may become more complicated when filing taxes. Get some financial advice.
  19. A long long long time ago. Received an UPGRADE (not bid) to a suite (that's the one that spoiled me). I was told since I didn't "pay" the suite fare, I would only receive on credit. That may be the reason you did not receive the "extra" credit. You paid for the bid, (which would also be an upsell) but did not pay full suite fare. I don't know, just giving a real experience.
  20. Mini bars are not equated to number of days sailing. It is dependent on number of VOYAGES booked. If you are doing two 16 day b2b voyages, then you "should" receive 2 mini-bars. The exception would be if it was sold as one or two voyages. Your Alaskan cruise was booked as two 7 day cruises. Hence 2 mini-bars.
  21. Reserve Mini-Class would be well worth the extra $ if it was a cruise with lots of sea days. You would then be able to eat in the MDR for breakfast, sea day lunch, and dinner. There are only so many venues open for a boat load of passengers on a sea day. It sure beats the buffet.
  22. Thanks for taking us along. Looking forward to "seeing" the ports I didn't get to in March.
  23. Check your airline to see if they have a no change fee policy. Then cancel your flight and rebook it for FLL to LAX. FLL airport is minutes away. You will save transfer costs for any rise in airfare. Same for EZ Air. JetBlue, Delta, American will all fly to LAX. There may not be a direct flight going West.
