  1. Any first hand experience with Princess Transfer from Montreal to Quebec? Staying in Old Montreal. Is Gare the closest Via Rail Station?
  2. @HikaruTsuki What a novel idea?!# Princess allows us to purchase Medallion Net for 50% off of $15 per day. Even with a $5 off Plus/Premier package, they would still be "ahead" $2.50 over the life of the cruise. Princess, if you are reading these threads: First possible bargain for your Loyalty Members: $55/day for Plus or $75 for Premier/day. Option #2: How about $50/$70 for no sundaes/no gym classes? Imagine how much Princess would be "saving" not to have to provide 2 sundaes/day or 2 gym classes/day. WOW...
  3. @beshears. It's an all or nothing deal for the first 2 passengers.
  4. When you said "recently on Carnival (which owns Princess)", I wanted to clear up your statement. My understanding was that you were on a Carnival Cruise Ship. That cruise ship belongs to Carnival Cruises Lines. It is not to be confused with Carnival Corporation. Carnival Corporation owns both Carnival and Princess (and a few others); but Carnival Cruise Lines does not own Princess. Sorry to add unnecessary information like the loyalty programs.
  5. Maintenance asked me if I wanted it to just dangle. I looked confused. I think he was thinking that I would have a hard time reaching up to place it on the holder. I asked for the holder.
  6. Chain of command: Report to Room Steward Request to speak to the Housekeeping Supervisor Crew Chat Customer Service Desk to request to speak to General Hotel Manager
  7. When you get on board, you can order Medallion Net using your app. It will charge you net price (discounted price). No messing with OBC. It will be charged to your onboard folio and use whatever OBC you have listed.
  8. Just for clarification: Same cruise as on the Emerald or the Coral? Sorry about Covid, but it seems to be reported more on longer cruises. My sister just returned from a land vacation...with covid. Not plane, not ship, but from her grand-daughter. Covid free since the beginning. You never know.
  9. Many thanks to all that replied. I am looking at every conceivable option. Going to create a spread sheet with every possible way of getting to Quebec with costs. Unfortunately, it is not only me. I have to take into account my travel mate who has some restrictions. I would love to take the train. No baggage service and they have "assured" me that there would be someone to help me lift my 50 pound luggage into the main compartment. Not convinced. I travel a lot domestically and internationally. I have flown west to east...never had this much trouble getting into one city in a timely manner. If I were traveling alone, I would take a red eye and arrive in the morning. Not an option. Others I have spoken to are also having trouble since there is NO direct flight into Quebec. I will get there one way or another. Was hoping would hear of a magical solution.
  10. Or use your Crew Chat once on board to request maintenance come and change out your shower head.
  11. Just to clarify: Carnival Cruise ship company DOES NOT own Princess. Carnival Corporation (CCL) is the owner of Carnival Cruises, Princess Cruises, Holland America Cruises...and others. Independent cruise lines under the CCL umbrella have nothing in common with relationship to one ship and another. Best example, loyalty credits with CCL are not combinable or recipracal.
  12. An investment in a passport will open the world to you. I missed a last minute trip to France because I didn’t have my passport with me when my sister and her flight attendant son decided to hop over to visit a friend who lived in Nice, France. You can count on it now…if I pack a bag for any trip, my passport goes with me.
  13. For once, being “short” has an advantage. Thank you to all for bringing that to my attention. @mamamusings, I do hope you found some aspects of the cruise to be good. The weather was perfect in San Francisco and San Diego, but Princess had nothing to do with that.
  14. You have the right to change your mind, until 3 days before sailing. But then again, you can also buy it on the first day. Keep in mind that the first two passengers in the cabin need to have the same: None or both. You can share the Medallion Net with anyone/device, as long as only one is logged in at a time, if you just purchase wifi. iMessages work (sometimes) without having an internet connection. On a recent cruise, it worked for me seamlessly. For the others, it was a hit and miss. User error? Most likely. I've had the dessert once...and that will keep me away from it for years to come. For light drinkers like me, it is more of a convenience at $40/$50. A huge stretch at $60 or $80. Enjoy your experience. You might like it.
  15. I was not posting "false or half true information". I was speaking from my experience. It happened to us. It was in real time. I was not about to hold up a bunch of passengers to argue a mute point (she had her passport after I made her drive home to get it). I had just asked the agent what would have happened if she didn't have her passport but a Real ID. That was the information he told me. Others have had different agents and different outcomes. I even knew about a passenger that lost her Driver's License on the way to the ship AND didn't have a birth certificate. She was let on with her photo ID from a membership store. But that was also a long time ago. You may speak for yourself. You MAY NOT speak for what happened to me. I do not appreciate being called a liar.
  16. Do you really believe that shoreside operations communicates with fleet? Just being ornery. The do a decent job with Meet and Greet coordinations, hmmm...can't think of much more.
  17. Yes, the Caribbean Princess arrives in the afternoon, overnights, old passengers disembark, new passengers embark AND spend the first night on the ship in Quebec.
  18. The Grand Class ships don't. Bring a portable suction grab bar.
  19. A friend of mine made a booking with a travel agency that has multiple functions three weeks before the almost sold out cruise left. Guarantee...obstructed window. His booking was tossed around until finally a supervisor took over. 3 days before the cruise, he found out that they assigned him a forward...forward...forward obstructed window cabin. The good: no obstruction (just the walkway in front of his window on the rise Deck 8). The bad: second cabin from the bow. Even as a seasoned sailor, he "felt" the rough seas one night. Got about 3 hours of sleep that night.
  20. I knew it! Should have come here first. Thank you @Hlitner and @Colorado Coasty. I really was optimistically hoping that Princess would have been more knowledgable. I should know better. One day, I will learn not to "trust" Princess. It was a good run with them pre-covid. I have to put my faith in EZ Air (aka Princess) that if they are allowing to book a flight that: 1. I will make my connections and 2. I will be able to settle in to my cabin (regardless of my arrival time). @skents The previous passengers will have vacated my room by 8 AM on the day that I arrive at night. I know that for a fact. It's the other stuff that I was hoping to have confirmation from Princess. Now, to hear from those that have done this. Would like to know the nitty gritty of hows and whats.
  21. Go on your app to request a hand held shower head (removable and can be held by your hands). If not done prior to board, send a crew chat to ask for one. Don't know how many they have.
  22. Maitre d' does not hold "office hours" like they used to pre-covid. I don't know what your specific issue is, but ONE MDR is usually open on embarkation day. It was pretty hectic the last time. More and more passengers are discovering this wonderful way to start the cruise. Look for a person (male/female) with a Green Jacket. They will be the Assistant Manager for that particular MDR. I don't know if the will be able to help you with your "pre-Assigned/reserved MDR. I have not seen the Maitre d' at lunch. I do see him in the buffet in the morning.
  23. Posted right after I got off Live Chat with Princess. Still in "recovery" mode. Thanks @PacnGoNow for setting me on the straight and narrow. I really should pay more attention to what I am reading and not comprehending.
  24. I thought you couldn't transfer a booking after you made final payment to Princess. Good to know.
