  1. I've been trying for a couple of hours to get through. At first, I could not pick a cabin. Then another message said something about pricing not available. What's the use of being Elite if you can't book a cruise ahead of anyone else?
  2. Now you are getting very personal. NO...I do not travel with kids. YES...my daughters learned to do their own laundry when they became adults. You can do whatever your little heart tells you to do. I was just answering a simple question with a simple policy answer. Please save us both some time on CC...you needn't reply/quote me again. Thank you.
  3. Too late to ask a question. Conference is over. Mr. Weinstein is a Cruise Critic employee not Princess. But you are correct, Princess is not user friendly to their older population
  4. Princess needs a new IT department. Maybe everyone in the department bailed a sinking ship?
  5. There is a huge difference between laundry and mini-bar. I am not going to get involved with this argument. I was simply stating the rules. I just returned from a 9 day + 3 days on land with my cabin mate who is not Elite. I didn't not share my perk. She used the laundry room. There are many who skirt the boundaries. Everyone has to live by their beliefs. I am not judging. OP asked a question. I merely stated my interpretation of the policy. Watch your onboard folio carefully too. I had my name on the laundry bag. It was charged to my cabin mate. I had to ask them (politely) to apply the charges/credit to my folio. She did not have any clothing articles in the bag. Second send out was accurately charged.
  6. Technically: She will reach Elite AFTER this cruise. You are "entitled" to free laundry, she is not.
  7. Have you considered purchasing your wine after the flight? I am sure the wine, once opened + exposure to length of time opened + airplane transport in cargo, can't be good for the product (even if it were allowed).
  8. Math brain isn't working so I can't compare the drink package (including 18%) to what an "average" drink plus 18%. I was sure you would do that for me. Or if it would even be the same in these cases.
  9. The gap ($44/pp/pd) also includes the 18% gratuity. I am not a drinker so don't have a clue how much drinks really cost. IF...I get the plus package, it is usually for a less port intensive cruise. Then I can explore new drinks. Whatever you decide...Please do not remove or decrease your daily gratuities. (One of the best reasons for keeping the Plus or Premier). It was a no-brainer at $40. A contemplative decision at $50. But really a difficult decision at $60. I wonder how many people would have continued to purchase the Plus at $40? Would it have brought in as much revenue at $60?
  10. I find it to be a sad commentary that there are 13 posts and not a one…mention of the gym classes and/or premium desserts.
  11. Southern California did the same thing. Several whales were hit by ships.
  12. Correct: Whales (usually juveniles) start arriving as early as late September. Peak is Jan, Feb, March. Most leave in early April with moms and calves staying behind a few weeks. The ocean is actually a ledge that connects Maui, Moloka’i, and Lana’i. It is shallow and warm. But there is absolutely no food to feed on while vacationing in Hawaii (not like a cruise ship).
  13. Honolulu - bow pointed toward city. Diamond Head / starboard side Nawiliwili - bow points to ocean. Port side dock. Get up early to watch remarkable S turn in harbor. Lahaina - anchored. Walk the deck to see Lana’i, Moloka’i, and whales,,,Jan-March.
  14. I’ve never had trouble ordering Fettuccine Alfredo since the restart…on or off the menu. Even got the cheese basket once. It’s the Caesar salad with Kale….yuck. Just ordered it without kale, but the croutons are substituted with chick peas.
  15. The slots are timed to kick you off frequently, unless you tap your medallion. It’s rather annoying. Trying to take the medallion to another machine probably won’t allow you to sign if if you have an active game going, I could be wrong.
  16. This happens frequently. Do not fret over this issue. It’s occurred since the restart. Just show your card when you get there. Unfortunately, it may prevent you from getting into the Green lane. As long as one member can enter card, that person can get arrival time. They can temporarily check their authorize user box to clear you.
  17. Thank you @CCAubs for reporting back. I was hoping you would have consolidate all the questions and pick the one that meant the most to your posters. I can see that CEO Weinstein responded with a very wide berth answer that says nothing. We already knew CCL offered a variety of ship (size) experiences. Unfortunately, he chose to skirt around the main issues. That was a huge disappointment for me. I hope you were able to walk away with some thoughts about the cruise industry. 6 pages of well thought out (time invested) questions to share our thoughts was a lesson in “ask and you will NOT receive”. Please do not waste our time for next year’s conference. "What is your vision for the future of cruising?," asked Cruise Critic Member notscb. "Is it mega-ship style family vacations, or is it smaller, more intimate experiences where passengers are able to explore different areas?" "We have distinct brands for distinct reasons," said Josh Weinstein, president, CEO and chief climate officer with Carnival Corporation plc. "I will never mistake my cruise on Carnival Celebration for a Seabourn expedition ship because they're two different things. We've got something for everyone."
  18. I “should have” been on your cruise….(but the cherry blossoms are in full bloom this week). No one asked for Japan QR codes after Jeju. In fact….Customer Service said K-ETA wasn't required (but that I didn’t trust) but that wasn’t asked for either. I filled out everything required. Not taking any chances. No welcoming groups at any of the ports. Very helpful information booths and people.
  19. if I were close to my cruise, I wouldn’t update anything until I was either onboard or after the cruise. Why tempt fate?
  20. I tried to get an arrival time for another cruise booking while on a current voyage. It wouldn’t allow me to….ocean navigator person on board said that Medallion Net could not support other bookings. I had to go to a cruise terminal to access Medallion Class app….to get my arrival time for next cruise. IT really needs to get their act together. That is an absurd thing to ask passengers to do.
  21. Glad to see the new version. But not for Diamond voyages. I’ve always used Ocean Concierge. Ocean Desk person on board said it was “coming”. I don’t understand why it can’t happen across the fleet…at the same time.
  22. @Elua What a handsome photo! The trio (Kawika 1, Kawika 2, and Leialoha) was the best team ever, I remember the Hawaiian History enrichment lectures going over and back by CD David Cole. The terrific port talks from a local (kama’aina) Tiki Dave. And the cultural lessons that accompanied Leialoha’s hula classes. Can’t duplicate the original. They broke the mold. Passengers are really fortunate to be on a cruise with ELUA. I ran into a couple who who’ll be on your July cruise. You bet I’m going to prime them for this cruise.
  23. I can’t answer that since it doesn’t matter to me…I am always masked. The majority of Japanese locals still wear masks pre/post pandemic. Japan has lifted mask restrictions, but many are still wearing them. It’s another cultural thing.
  24. There is absolutely NO speed advantage to complete the digital website. There was still, at least, an hour’s line. The only reason to do it online is to make sure everything is completed, otherwise, you have to paper and pencil out the information. There are three things to complete: Quarantine QR code (to verify vaccinations) Immigration Customs
  25. You will not need a proctored test. Any over the free/counter test will be accepted. It’s the rest that is bothersome. Take a blank paper place the negative result test on the paper write your full name write the date (day before) place a government issued ID or passport….and… a phone with the time and date. THEN take a photo with another phone. I (OCD) printed out a form with a place to write in the time. Don’t forget to upload this photo to the app. I also created a sub-album on my phone that included every document, visa, screen shots, etc for easy access.
