  1. You are correct, NOT ALL the interior cabins have side mounted beds. Only the ones designated as triples/quad cabins. Regular 2 person cabins do not have the wall mounted beds. Princess deck plans do not show legends. Be sure to check out other web deck plans to see quad cabins, cabins with connecting doors, or any other items that may impede your enjoyment of your selected cabin.
  2. As far as I know (I could be wrong) all Grand/Gem Class interior cabins have those awful protruding beds attached to the side wall. You might have better luck with ocean view or higher (drop from the ceiling).
  3. I did a cruise tour way back when. Don't remember much about the rooms, but enjoyed sitting on the veranda seeing Denali....every day (it was that clear). Coming from California, could "feel" the small earthquake tremors on the deck. On the train ride over, everyone was on "moose alert". We saw one really scraggly undernourished guy munching is a small marsh. Check that off my bucket list. Nice float ride down the river...too hot for any animals to be out. Saw much more animal activity in Yellowstone/Grand Tetons than I did in the heat of the summer in Alaska. But still enjoyed the time on land. Probably won't ever do it again.
  4. Specialty Restaurants may get booked full. Excursions may sell out. You don’t mention it you have the Premier Package with complimentary meals or On Board Credits. There are no penalties for booking ahead. only issues may be: 1. Charged to your credit card now rather than later. 2. Cancel before cruise, refunded back to form of payment. 3. Cancel while on board, refunded as refundable obc. 4. Excursion rates may rise.
  5. Oops...That one, suites were gone by the time I got to it. Have a mini for $5,365.00. Meant to say that my Seattle Round trip (17 day) Seattle in May 2025 is $6,449.00 includes Plus in a suite. Thanks for catching that.
  6. No special ceremony for crossing the international Dateline. Crossing the Equator “ceremony” is held on the Lido deck. If you were in the Navy, this will be much tamer.
  7. A lot has to do with the itinerary. My Alaskan 16 day cruise in 2025 is over $5000 per person in a suite. Booked on day one. iceland/Greenland is over $6 k for 16 days. I’m sure prices will only go up. Rarely do suites drop in price. Yes, sometimes they do, but not very often.
  8. 2023 and 2024 all eggs were not viable (ravens did not "kill their hatchlings". Sad, just the same. You can get quite hooked on Jackie and Shadow.
  9. Depending on the itinerary, I have sometimes sailed without a package. Why should I get a package for a 7 night cruise when: first night specialty restaurant 2 mini-bars Don't need the special desserts/gym classes Not a big drinker. elite 50% off Medallion Net.
  10. It dates back to the glorious/elegant days of cruising. Now, the only ones to participate are the newbies, photo ops, and those wanting free champagne. The problem is that the time is 7:30. Without traditional dining times, it is in the heart of dine times. Just like the Baked Alaska run. 7:00 in one dining room and 7:30 in the other (don't know about the third. Interrupts those dining... There are several events that have fallen off my list of to do.
  11. Are you staying at the Pan Pacific? They have a nominal charge to take your bags from your room to the ship. If you are arriving by taxi, uber, lyft, or other vehicle, make sure the driver drops you off underground....in the garage. They will want to drop you off up on street level. It may cost you a little more since it will incur time in taxi costs. If you are dropped off at street level, it will be a very long haul to drop off your bags without assistance. Once you have dropped off your bags, you should be able to find someone to assist you with a wheel chair.
  12. If you do not purchase PLUS or PREMIER, just one person in your cabin needs to activate Ocean Now on your app for $14.99. Then. you can order and have it delivered to anywhere you are on a ship. @dog and @Astro Flyer explained it all. There are so many moving parts to ordering from Room Service.
  13. Thats a thought! Turn them into single/solo cabins without a supplement. That would sell well!
  14. Not in Alaska, but this resident pair is in Big Bear, CA. Unfortunately, this season, their 3 eggs will not hatch. https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=big+bear+eagle+cam&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:6a5ede9a,vid:B4-L2nfGcuE,st:0 You daughter might enjoy watching the rest of this nesting season. Come back next January.
  15. Ahhh. And there lies the issue. You booked a guaranteed Interior. In Princess' mind, they assigned you an interior without regard to your request for a queen configuration. There are several cabins across the fleet that have this problem. I once "toured" an accessible balcony cabin that ONLY had twin beds. It was long and narrow with a walkway down the middle. Again, very far forward on a higher deck. Thank you for sharing.
  16. This is an oddity since it is so forward of the ship. Because of the curvature of the bow, this cabin is smaller than the rest of the insides. The first thing Princess "should have done" is NOT make this a quad cabin. None of the insides have bunks that drop down from the ceiling. All inside cabins have the intrusive bunks attached to the walls. It is unfortunate that you were assigned this cabin. It is very important to research as much as possible until you find a cabin location that you will be satisfied with before cruising.
  17. Maybe...just maybe...this event wasn't ready for Prime Time....EITHER. aka sheldon cooper
  18. OFFICIAL UPDATE: Thanks for your reply on Fri. Fri/Sat are my weekend and I’m just getting back into my work week today. The $5 service fee for room service delivery charges (made with a phone call to room service) is waived for any guest with Princess Plus or Princess Premier packages regardless of the cabin category they’re in. This is considered a benefit of having the Plus or Premier package. Nothing to do with the category of cabin. We certainly do appreciate your Elite loyalty to Princess. 19. Since the Diamond doesn't have an International Cafe, you will spend more time on Deck 6 (choose a dining room on this deck). I think it is Santa Fe and Pacific Moon. I love any cabin on Decks 5 and 6 on most Grand Class ships.
  20. Wise decision. Most excursion operators who are responsible will work with cruise passengers. I would never book with an operator that had stringent payment requirements. I hope the ship makes your port in time.
  21. In the back of my mind, I heard/read somewhere that crew appreciation is more like a salary base … now. I don’t think Princess keeps track of how many passengers a steward has per day/per cruise. Maybe by room or just a flat rate. I could be wrong. Won’t be the first time. your thoughtfulness is refreshing.
  22. Eagles are everywhere. In Ketchikan, I saw them on totem poles. In Juneau, I watched them teach their eaglets how to do hit (touch and go landings) the waters from my balcony. Anchorage has a wildlife sanctuary, but don’t think you have time to do that.
  23. For the price of a Princess hotel package, you could reserve a nice hotel, pay for transportation to the hotel, then to the cruise port. Hotel packages charge you for each passenger, but does include transfers. FLL and PE are very close. One of the easiest ports to get to. The problem you may run into is getting a hotel within the cruise area.
  24. Not necessarily bigger, but the windows are nicer on Deck 6. I debated on Deck 5/starboard side or deck 6. I would have been happy with either. Deck 5 has a “secret” door that leads to the library. I thought I would use the library as my living room, but never had time to do that. Deck 6 would have been more convenient. The higher the cabin number, the better. Just be aware that some cabins are designed for 4.
  25. Generally, any refundable OBC (over $25) will be refunded via another company. It will arrive by check…do not throw away without opening. Someone will chime in on name on envelope.
