  1. Could it be possible that they would open the Specialty Restaurants to lunch as well? That way it would be opened to the extra people with the SD, and therefore getting useage out of the extra benefit. we have the Premier fare for our booking next year. I’m not going to pay for the extra benefits, as we have RC, I’ve already booked my 2 SD, and I don’t think we need more. I’m hoping to get the enhanced wi-fi, but in reality, don’t need it, how much faster do I need Facebook to load lol.
  2. Brie sandwiches definitely get them heated up, so good. Personally I don’t get the rave about the almond croissants, but each their own. They used to have a chicken salad that I loved, but they don’t do that anymore 😞
  3. If you or your husband served in the military, you can apply for on board credit. I don’t know what it is for 14 days, on lesser days it is a $100 credit. I’m sure someone will chime in with how many days, and credit. Also, if you have at least 100 shares of CCL, you also get OBC for that as well.
  4. Do you think that mega ships are sustainable? It seems more and more of the world is getting tired of thousands of people descending into their towns. More places are limiting how many ships/people are allowed and even cutting down days. These huge monstrosities are going to find it more difficult to find places to port or tender I think as time goes by. People may want to sail in them, but ports may be limited. I have only sailed Princess 9 times, I’ll never make Elite, because getting up there in years, and living on the west coast of Canada isn’t conducive to many cruises without flying. I don’t mind some kids on a cruise, but have no wish to sail with hundreds of them. I will probably take my dollars and spend it at an all inclusive adults only. The rooms are bigger, there’s really isn’t any nickel and dimeing, larger pools, beaches, more restaurants, and now in Mexico, no smoking.
  5. Thank you Alserodd for this information, much appreciated.
  6. I’m in Canada, and checking EZ Air (Rome as well), it’s a good $3000+ more (business class). I don’t know how others are getting them so cheap.
  7. Were you logged in at the time? When I checked yesterday, I just went under booked passenger and no pricing. When I logged in, and checked, it showed pricing, this was for Rome. I am hoping that they will be updating, the one hotel I wanted, is closed next year for renovations, so curious if they will add a different one.
  8. We will be stopping in Barcelona on our cruise next year. I do not wish to take a tour. I would like to visit the Sagrada, what would be the easiest way to get there from the port? Are taxis’ easily available at the port? Roughly how long to get there, as I would be requesting tickets beforehand? From Sagrada, is it easy to get to Las Ramblas, is it a long walk or easier to get a taxi, and again, would they be easily available from the church? From the bottom of Las Ramblas, is there much to see around the area, and is it far from the port? Neither my husband and sister in law are great walkers, so I am trying to be somewhat mindful of that, me I can walk and walk. We are all in our late 60’s, although I hate for that to stop us. Thanks very much for your help!
  9. I didn’t see anything on the website itself that mentioned another site. I guess you can always email the hotel. We will be going next April, and if we stay with the hotel, I’ll try to remember to update
  10. I had a list of hotels. I had the distance between the hotels and Trevi Fountain and Colosseum. I wanted to be closer to Trevi Fountain as I heard it can be quite busy, and hoping if I get up early, I can take a walk to it. The rooms were decently priced, I wanted to keep the cost of 3 nites to around $1500 Canadian, reviews were not too bad. I really wanted the Savoy hotel, but they will be closed for renovations next year. I’m also waiting to see if Princess updates their hotels, as Savoy is one of them. The other hotels on Princess lists look okay but 2 of them are a bit further from what I want to see, and I’m not interested in staying close to the terminal station. I booked the relax room I think it’s called, it has what looks like a huge bathroom. It is our first trip, and probably only trip to Rome, so why not.
  11. Thanks for the quick reply. I’m so looking forward to trying this cabin. Even though it’s a few months away, I’m debating with myself that if a suite came up for bids if I would try. I do like the benefits of a suite, but I do want to try this cabin. The horns of a dilemma lol
  12. Just curious, we have this cabin booked for April, what about the side portion of the balcony? If the front is a bit windy, is the side a bit better, or just as bad as nothing blocking the wind?
  13. We like the size of the mini suite and the bath/shower combo, as my husband likes a bath. Although, if we were ever to go on the Sun/Star ships, I would probably go with the deluxe balcony just because the minis don’t have the bath.
  14. Do you know when Princess signs their hotel contracts? We will be in Rome next April. They show 4 hotels, unfortunately the 1 I want will be closed for renovations. The other 3 don’t thrill me, 2 are farther away from the centre of Rome and 1 is close by the rail terminal, which also doesn’t thrill me. I admit, although the costs of the hotels, even times 2 is not much more when you factor in the costs from the airport to hotel, then hotel to cruise port, and the convenience is nice. The one by the rail terminal is a Best Western and the reviews are decent, so I am a bit on the fence. I do have a hotel booked close to Trevi just in case.
  15. Worried about a medallion that can track you on the ship, but probably has no issue with using a smart phone, computer, credit card, social media (like CC)
  16. Hopefully they will put one on later. How long ago was your cruise?
  17. Sorry, can’t figure which forum Gibraltar belongs to. We will be stopping at Gibraltar next year. Princess offers an excursion for gin tasting in the morning. If I look at the distillery direct, their tasting is from 4pm to 5:15. Our ship leaves at 6pm, and that would make me way too nervous to do. Anyways, I really would also like to do a top of the rock tour to see the apes as well as seeing the tunnels. If I was to do the gin tasting in the morning, what is the best way to see the other sites? Unfortunately, Princess only seems to have tours in the morning. I would love to do the tasting direct as it’s about 1/3 the price as Princess. Thanks for any suggestions.
  18. You can look up videos of these cabins. May not be just The Discovery, but the other ships would have the same set up. I’ve booked one on Majestic for next year and looking forward to it. On the lido deck, just a walk down the hall to the buffet and specialty coffee. The bedroom is separate from the rest of the cabin with a curtain you can close between the section.
  19. I’ll be on her for the 2nd trip after the dry dock. We sailed on her last September, we didn’t try Harmony, but loved the suite breakfast there. Loved The Catch, so happy that they are perhaps moving it there. Sabatinis, meh honestly didn’t think much of it, and as we are planning on spending 3 1/2 days in Rome before the cruise, I’m sure I’d even think less of it. Didn’t try the noodle bar, when we were on it last year, it left from Vancouver, and the large proportion of the passengers, were Asians, so it was always busy. What would be nice is if they would put an adult only area, I like kids, but the shrieking that occurs in the closed in pool, hurts my ears lol.
  20. Just booked the Trevi Collection Hotel for April 2025, that’s one thing down
  21. I wish they would go back to separate dancing areas that don’t involve children running, hopping and generally being a nuisance, you know, just being kids. Yes I understand parents think their little ones are the best, but not everyone does.
  22. You probably can’t get pricing until 9-10 months before you need them. We are planning on April 2025 and that is what I am finding. Hotels don’t show that they are not booking, but show that they are full or pricing is ridiculous. I have a list of hotels I’m looking at, now I just have to try to wait until June before booking
  23. We just wear what we are going home in the following day, and pray we don’t spill on our pants lol. I keep a small suitcase that I pack our toiletry bags in, our dirty clothes from the night before. Bring that off with me, and pick up the rest of our luggage in the area. That’s the only time I let my husband wear jeans in the dining room, lol
  24. I had a piece of the red velvet cake last year on the Majestic and did not like it. I found the cake to be dry and tasteless, and the icing didn’t taste anything like cream cheese icing, and I love cream cheese icing
