  1. You can set your phone to vibrate or alarm if you receive a chat message. Similar to what people do with text messages. Or IM. Or whatsapp, fb messaging...etc... Or you just don't use it if you don't think it's for you. It's helpful for large groups, families, parents, kids. And if you don't like to have your phone out, then it's all good as it won't affect you.
  2. If you can wait, we booked the alcove on the Equinox for February 2023 on a sea day. Had OBC to burn so why not!! I had to look around a bit as like you said, not a lot of recent stuff. The menu is on the app. I have it for February 21, 2023 and I always am connected so I'll post while there.

  6. The UDP has been great for us in the past but booking has been interesting to say the least. I'm glad to see some ships are allowing pre booking shows and restaurants. I was prepared before my Allure sailing and as soon as I could log into the ship's wifi, I got what I wanted. However, I probably won't do it again unless 1. on an Oasis or Quantum class 2. board early, or 3. Able to pick pre cruise. I think UDP with the amount of money spent on the package, should have a time frame pre cruise (3-5 days prior) where they can pick their timeslots. It really isn't worth it if all you can get is 9pm. I guess it's because the ship makes more money from the single bookings. If I could only get 9pm all week and no lunches, I'd cancel it as well.
  7. I absolutely agree with this. Do people ask the bus boys at a restaurant if they are getting a percentage of the tips? Do we ask our waiting staff how much they make? What about the hotel staff? It isn't our job to pay their wages. It is the cruise lines. If my waiter at a specialty restaurant gives me good service I tip them. I also tip my room steward after the cruise. I tip for service once completed. I let the ship pay their workers the salaries they agreed to when they signed their work contract.

  9. Which is why I think this was an error by Celebrity. I don't see any voucher bar code on my "receipt". There's no option to select multiple days. The wording is package. But we shall see.
  10. I would skip the Natural pool as it takes too much out of your day for an awful ride to a selfie pic. The pool at the gold mine is much easier. We went with our buggy to snorkel at boca Catalina, mangel hailto (sp) and wasted too much time at natural pool getting to and from. With our rental car another time we went to the gold mines, philips garden, boca catalina, baby beach and had a lot of fun.
  11. We used Beach Bum Cozumel for electric bike rentals in October 2022 and had a great day. Highly recommend. They have locks, helmets. Husband rode with his snorkeling bag bungied. I wore my backpack. Great day. Little congested in the city but there is a nice bike path to go on. We rode down past Chankanaab, and stopped at Playa corona and money bar for some snorkeling.
  12. I stopped buying the card in 2018 when they started the double punches. Im fine with the Windjammer coffee. Then I became Diamond and spend my mornings after my jogging trying to manipulate the diamond lounge coffee maker and irritating people with my t-shirt and jogging shorts. 😁 I never thought to use my free Diamond drinks at the coffee place.
  13. I did it yesterday. I think this was a mistake on Celebritys end. Hey if they catch it and adjust onboard to one day, I'll show my screenshots I took earlier. If that doesn't work, I spent $4000 plus on this cruise. $195 that I paid to upgrade 2 devices won't bankrupt me.
  14. thx everyone. Was able to get that internet voucher. I cancelled my premium upgrade from basic and then purchased this voucher. Edited to add, I used my tablet instead of my phone this am. Can't get into cruise planner on my phone. 😁
  15. Here's what I do. Look for any excursion on Carnivals website as the cruise lines will use the same vendor or go to the same spot. Then read the reviews. A lot of them will be honest and pretty descriptive.
  16. Actually we have not been given written instructions for the last 6 cruises. Download the RCCL app pre cruise. The information will be in the app how to set up. It is really easy. And if all else fails, head over to the internet area and they will help you.

  19. I can answer 2 of your questions. Re Carnival, they were used as a comparison because they are doing 1x a day cleaning. Any other war stories is to be expected on this forum. Regarding steward not thanking you with a personal or stock note, no, I've never seen that. I have been thanked in person.

  21. I don't mind 1x a day. But also feel gratuities should be lessened. I have had 1x a day from land vacays and on Carnival. Wasn't too big of a fan of the Carnival Magic one as our room steward was doing 3 floors in Cloud 9 apparently by herself (although I saw different room stewards in the Cloud 9 area so...) and she could only do 1x a day. This unfortunately was 1x for a 5 day cruise and the only time she cleaned was the day she left a tip envelope. We took our towels from the carts in the hallway. Not a great comparison I know. But it makes me wonder if the staffing may be getting cut and that's why Royal is doing this. I really don't care as long as they give us towels and empty trash. We did call housekeeping on day 3, and were told someone would be by...👀
  22. My moveup from AquaClass to Sky Suite on Equinox is $1000 pp minimum. No thanks. This is for a 9 day cruise.
  23. Great snorkeling, waterfalls, hiking... We can't wait to go back!
